Very pricey for a veggie dinner. The spices in the broth couldn’t be filtered out from the vegetables and you keep getting these crunchy bitter spices in your mouth– most unpleasant. Not enough instructions from waitress on how to cook the food in the hotpot. May give it one more try and not order the spicy broth would try the hot and sour next time. Nice décor and pleasant staff. Wanted to like it but couldn’t!

This was my first hot pot experience, although I have prepared my own food in similar fashion at a Korean BBQ restaurant as well as Melting Pot, so I was not a complete stranger to the process. The very friendly and helpful waitress provided the table a tutorial on how to prep the awesome sauce, a fun experience in and of its self. Once your sauce is perfect for each individual, the rest of the meal and your cooking style is placed on the table. Conveniently this particular restaurant recognized the torn pallets of the table and have the option of the spicy and non spicy oils to be enjoyed at once with a split pot… perfect for myself as I cannot handle Pepperoni or mild salsa, and my husband who has yet to find one thing firey enough to deter him from enjoying the meal. We prepped our meat, then veg, then noodles. Noodles were my personal favorite. Shanghai style as recommended by the waitress. Over all the food is enjoyable and the slowed down, entertaining meal style was a great way to spend time with friends.

Cozy place: 5 stars Friendly Waitress: 4 Stars Fine quality of ingredients: 3 stars High-end price for the taste($ 20-$ 30 per one): 2 stars And Terrible Food: 1 star I don’t want to be mean or judgmental, but their terrible food just terminate my good mood! At the very beginning, they did serve tahini and fermented bean curd, which are necessary sauces for a guy from Beijing, China. However, the quality is far much worse than my expectation. In addition, the lamb slices were frozen when served. I know it is hard to serve fresh lamb slices in US, but they should at least unfreeze those meats. Frozen lamb slices in a hot pot will be tough instead of tender. Thanks to the farmers! At least their vegetables are great. In conclusion, I will never come back to torture my tongue.

Food was ok and service was ok. Price was what made the whole thing off. Nowhere in the menu was it mentioned of the base soup price. Oh well.

Delicious, fresh food and kind staff made this the best new Asian restaurant I’ve tried in a long time. This is like Melting Pot, except minus the nasty melted cheese and in its place, delicious soup and dipping sauce that you create yourself! You decide the ingredients, and the degree of spiciness which I really enjoyed. It’s clean, homey, and in a great location across from UB North. I can’t wait to go again and I definitely recommend this place!

I did a boiling pot when I studied abroad in Taiwan, so when I found this place I had to try it. It was just as great as I remember! The waitress was super helpful as far as what and how much to order. Have them mix up your sauce… It’s amazing. Definitely will be going back!

The spicy soup is authentic. A little bit expensive for other dishes $ 3 or $ 4, e.g., meat and dumpling.

As Taiwanese, I am a big fan of hotpot. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their ingredients… I had the all you can eat and portions were generous and food is very fresh… I used to drive two hours to Toronto when I had craving for hotpot. I am so excited we finally have a hotspot restaurant in buffalo and it’s actually good.

Pretty cozy place and nice deco and renovation. Five stars for this. Soup is awesome but no crabs available. Great service but abit too expensive although. $ 15 for just the soup and 7 – 9 $ for meat 5 – 7 for vegetables per dish. No take out packages to bring back your left overs. Went there for a second time…“ The grand opening buffet is too expensive $ 30 per person although it is the only hot pot place(but there is another place called china star). They keep reminding that after their happy hour you cannot order food and make us order more food before the time runs out. And I don’t think it’s a good idea to scold customer for not finishing food. I rather pay the extra charges than get scolded. They just opened but now they lost a customer along with their peers. They should know that there will be wastage and furthermore they are left uncooked and not thrown all in the pot just to hide it away. Left a large tip so they don’t feel wasted(btw it just a few meat and some withered vegetables) Would think twice to go there again.
