The salads and pizzas here are fantastic! Great healthy lunch spot in downtown Buffalo. Highly recommend it!

My family and I have been fans of D’AVolio for years. My mother-in-law would stock up on thier California Garlic olive oil and a variety of their balsamic vinegars like she was a doomsday prepper, and oil and vinegar would be her rations. My wife shoots their balsamic vinegar like whiskey, and insists I grill every meat in our house in the Basik’s food spice they sell. As for me, I love their olive oils so much I smear them all over my body to prevent chaffing, to act as l’eau de toilette when I want to freshen up and so I can spontaneously grab a running start and slide myself down a slick hallway like a garlicky and fennel infused human bowling ball just for fun… My relationship went from steamy-love-passion to head-over-heels in a jiffy once D’Avolio opened their own restaurant downtown. The restaurant allows you to create your own sandwich, salad, pizza or antipasto. I choose a sandwich(of course), with grilled chicken, black olive tapenade spread, asiago cheese, arugula, tomato and onion. This was a sandwich one could certainly lust after. I’ve made a salad there once as well: salmon, arugula, roasted red peppers and olives… Lord have mercy, was it awesome.

We order two pizzas for a few of us at the office. They came to $ 12.95 each. We where very happy with the both of them. On the one we had was white, prosciutto, provolone, artichokes & a few other things, The other one was a basil pesto, sausage, fresh mozzarella, mushroom and mild banana peppers. Amazing. We plan on ordering again.

I am giving this place a 2 star because the customer service is poor and this restaurant is too small. Its always crowded at lunch time which makes it hard to move around. The tables are also close together and seems as if your eating on top of others. The girls who work there are so not friendly. They don’t greet people and if they are busy they will just ignore you. Instead of saying«Hello, I will be with you in a second». The food isn’t bad and I love that its fresh. A little over priced and their soups are delicious.

A decent, if not a little pricey downtown lunch. You choose a sandwich or pizza — the base price is $ 12.95 and it’s a $ 1 extra if you want smoked salmon(and of course I wanted it, damn it). It comes with a very small cup of soup(it wasn’t even filled to the top) so I was a little offended at the initial value up until I tasted the sandwich and all was right with the world. I felt like it was worth it. The bread with a little bit of butter tasted perfect; baked incredibly fresh with the most amazing cured(or smoked) salmon, which went perfectly with the pesto, lettuce, tomato and onion. It was definitely an absolutely delicious lunch. The location itself serves some wine as well(which I was surprised to see) and has ample seating. Definitely a welcome addition to downtown. I would like to have them suggest a few sandwiches rather than giving the customer all the power to craft it as they please. I’m not a chef, so I struggled to imagine what sauces would complement each other, but somehow it all came together and tasted delicious.

This place is amazing. I’ve often lunched at the Main Street in Williamsville location and recently moved downtown. This location is just as good if not better! The food is delicious. Everything I’ve ever ordered has been too good to put down! I don’t know what’s got Lunch L. in a foul mood but don’t take their 2 star review to heart. This place is definitely a 6 star worthy spot if it were only possible to give 6 stars. Well worth the price. You get so much food!!! And the pizzas are possibly the best thin crust pizzas in Buffalo and made fresh to order!

A new, delicious, pizza, sand which, and salad place on the ever changing«GENESEE Block» of downtown buffalo. The décor, service, and food was excellent. I’m so happy that this place opened downtown, definitely a killer lunch spot: the menu is a «create your own» style one where you circle what you want on the menu and Voila. The pizzas were excellent. Thin crusted and topped with fresh toppings(of your choice) makes them impossible not to like. What’s also cool is the variety of olive oils and vinegars you can try FORFREE. Oh, and if you don’t like their premade dressings, make your own killer combination with said oils and vinegars. Can’t wait to go back, definitely a new lunch spot for me.

I have been anticipating the opening of D’Avolio for several months and am pretty disappointed with my experience. When we arrived, half the tables were empty. We ordered soup and a pizza. After waiting 45 minutes I asked our waiter if we could get the food to go. I also noticed that there were little dead bugs in the window sill where we were sitting up front. I advised the waiter that they may want to clean that up. The food, which we ate out of to go boxes since we only had an hour was good. Service was awful and my hope is they are still working our the kinks of a new restaurant. If they don’t improve quickly, they’ll struggle when so many other options exist for the work crowd downtown.
