Elite Event – Glow in the Golf @ Monster Mini Golf

This was probably one of the best Unilocal events. It was well planned and lots of fun! We were given awesome Unilocal schwag when we arrived; elites got a pretty awesome phone charger. The entire place was blue light/​glow in the dark. It was such a fun atmosphere! The music couldn’t have been better.
Alex kept the beer and pizza flowing in the side room even after the games began. We had such a great time and were surprised with arcade game play at the end. Our group had a blast!

This was a «Glow In The Dark» event. But in fact it was more of a «Grow In The Dark» event.
Honestly, I want to say that Leonardi’s Pizza was a 5-​star Pizza and reminded me of Imperial. Alex’s hosting was a 5-​star job on his part as always. Monster Mini-​Golf are a fantastic business and I’ll be going back and recommending them. They could not have been more friendly. And all in all, in terms of how much fun I had and how much fun everyone else had, I honestly think this may be the best event I’ve been to.
Absolutely top notch. Bravo Alex, bravo fellow Unilocal Buffalo people, bravo MMG, and bravo Leonardi’s too. I didn’t think this event would be one of my «fave five» because I like dining events. But it blew me away and is now one of my «top three all time», possibly even my number one. No exaggeration at all. It was just that good. Brilliant work from CM and business alike. Plus it was an absolute pleasure playing with Katherine. Ahem, we’ll get to that later.
So, why did I «grow in the dark». There are so many reasons. Let’s begin.
As soon as I saw Barb in that bright pink hat (which I gave her) sinking those balls into those holes with Maria and Jody, I could no longer concentrate on my «swing.» In fact, all I wanted to do was «swing away», and not like the movie Signs, either. It was great to meet Ray, too. He’s named after the light from the sun because he’s such a bright spark. He was getting me hot and bothered, so I did a Michael Jackson spin for him in the middle of the 5^th hole. I’m not sure if he liked it. He hasn’t called me yet.

Then there was my partner. I think she has some sort of bf or husband or gf up in Canada, but my goodness, Katherine was looking radiant. There is a reason why I missed every single hole at the first attempt, and that’s because Katherine was distracting me. All the good ones are taken. It’s always that way. Just ask Liam Neeson. If you have been taken. He will find you. And he will grow in the dark for you.
However, Katherine said in her review «I managed to finangle Fox into playing with me», and I’d just like to say to her significant other, that it really didn’t happen that way. We did a round of golf, but there was no… er… «playing.» Honestly, I’m not saying I dislike the idea, I just… I don’t want you to think… I mean…
What’s that? She meant playing golf? OK. Yes. Like I was saying. We played Golf. Was awesome. That’s exactly what I was saying. What did you think I was saying. What are you on about. Of course I wasn’t referring to… er…
Oh wow look it’s Jupiter and Venus! How cool.
Where was I. Oh yes. The team in front of us were looking pretty awesome too, with their face paints. They were having lots of fun, it seemed. That was Lindsey’s team, I believe. I kept wanting to ask what sort of jungle feeline she’d had painted on her face, but I didn’t want to seem catty.
Naitik was there, but I forgot to say hi. He intimidates me anyway. He’s such a spiffy dresser and such a beautiful hunk of a man. And of course there was Trish. Her nickname is «wish» because I «wish» I’d run into her when she was single. Not to mention Taylor and Courtney. I mean, any couple named Taylor and Courtney are going to be hot, am I right? But these two vacation in Portugal together and always play golf last out of all the groups, so they can… take… their… time… if you know what I mean. Hot.
Alex was looking as stunning as always, with his Russian supermodel soulmate alongside him. I don’t think it’s really fair to bring people that attractive to events. It’s intimidating. It causes everyone to start Russian around the golf course trying to get closer to her. Or to him, for that matter.
And I also saw the studly David, the gorgeous Christopher, the dreamy Krista and her hunk brother Justin, the mesmerizing Marina, the nubile newbie Nick, the ravishing Robin, the spectacular Sarah, and many others whose names are written down in my little black book and shall never be shared with mere mortals.
Seriously though, this was probably the best event I’ve been to. Right up there with the likes of Eagle House. I think because it was so much fun for everyone. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The holes were so fun. So to speak. And it was so different and unique and a fantastic idea.
Growing in the dark was a truly uplifting experience for me. I am so glad I extended myself to this event. I would like to salute everyone that came. It’s really, really, really, really hard… to say this. But it really was my fave event. I don’t want Alex’s head to get too swollen now that I’ve said this, but really. It made me truly excited, and it aroused a lot of interest from the Buffalo community.
Katherine described it as «low key» but I think in my case, my key was anything but low during this event.
And did I mention that all 18 holes that I experienced on this night were awesome.

Wonderful event and had a good balance of really positive things. Especially social interaction — there was a lot of free time and the mini-​golf itself was a great time to meet new people, chat, but also not have the pressure of maintaining a conversation for hours.
Big Ditch Brews were quite good — enough of a taste to want to seek them out. Though, I’m not sure where it is.
Pizza was pretty good — and that’s coming from someone who isn’t into the Buffalo pizza scene.
But the main event, mini-​golf, was gold. It’s a fun place and it was a great activity to get to know other Unilocalers. We all had a mission, the right amount of silliness, the glow-​light and dark helped out a lot, and mini-​golf is just unassuming enough to be a great communal activity. I definitely want to head back with friends — but also with strangers as a getting to know you thing. Great ice breaking opportunities.

Another awesome Unilocal event! Mini golf makes me feel like a kid again, which is awesome and the atmosphere and music here really helps keep mini golf exciting. I think this is going to be my go to place in the winter. Considering how many of us there were, the staff did a great job at keeping everything organized too.

Alright, I cheated, I’ve totally been here before. I enjoy this place so much that when I heard there was going to be an Elite event, I had to come!
Monster Golf is a total blast. There is no better city for it than in Buffalo, where the weather is crappy most of the year. It was perfect being held on this night as I’m pretty certain we dodged a rain during this event, and this is definitely the place to go when it’s raining, snowing, or just getting too dark outside.
The putt putt course is awesome. It’s easy to navigate, the animatronics are entertaining, the entire thing is glow in the dark which is AWESOME, and little contests run through the night for free giveaways like neon fedoras or glow-​in-​the-​dark glasses. Some of the holes are easier, some are harder, but they’re all a manageable, and while you’re waiting for the next hole, you’ll find yourself dancing to their great soundtrack.
Each time I’ve been here, it’s just been with adults. You don’t have to bring kids here even though it’s clearly meant for them – it’s just so much fun! We’ve recommended people here and when I posted my pictures on Facebook I got a flurry of comments about how cool it looked.
The event itself was great. While I wasn’t in a drinking mood, I do like Big Ditch, and the pizza was tasty and the facepainting was FANTASTIC! I got several compliments on the course as the left side of my face lit up in the black lights, and lots of likes on Facebook. It’s just so fun!
I had a blast and I can’t wait to go back. Monster Golf totally rocks, and it was another winning Elite event! Thanks for the Elite Rescue Charger too, that’s very much appreciated!

Alex as usual did a terrific job in organizing such a fun event. It was my first time playing mini golf. EVER. and needless to say, I enjoyed every last bit of it. Monster Mini Golf is party central. Thank you Brad for hosting us and playing that awesome, nostalgic 90’s pop. That was the cherry of this event! Oh, and the glow in the dark golf, obviously!
Had a fantastic time there with my teammates Sarah, Kristen, Ana and Paul! Wonderful fellow Unilocalers and a hell of a team! Also, a big thank you to Leonardi’s and Big Ditch for providing the sustenance.
Yesterday was a good day to be an Elite!

What a great event! In all honesty I never planned coming here. I’ve driven by it a few times, maybe saw on ad on Facebook but it took this fabulous event to get me in the door.
Walking in I didnt know what to expect, I was thinking something like Putt-​Putt but didn’t expect a black light party.
To start out night, after signing in and getting some EPIC Elite swag we met in the side rooms where parties are held. After a poor of beer and some tasty pizza we gathered round for a game of mini golf.
Starting out at different holes and moving through in teams we made our way from Hole 4 to Hole 18, the variety of scenes and obstacles are awesome and I love that some are interactive. The giant slumbering troll is hilarious and the shout outs to old cartoons and some zombie Buffalove is great.
The black lights are really a great feature and enhance the experience. If you are coming here make sure clothing is clean LOL.

Funnest Unilocal event. Beer … Pizza … Mini golf… More beer! … Unilocal swag! golf Contests… And arcade games! I felt like a kid in a vast candy store, or a place where one would need a golden ticket to enter. Monster mini golf is fun for all ages, even when the Unilocal crew can’t join lol. Reasonable prices, challenging corse, and tons of games. Will be back for sure and going to recommend to friends
Great event to open my eyes to other options in the Amherst area!

This was a low key and adorable event. I entered and was plunged into a blacklight wonderland, filled with eye catching colors and music.
My nametag was affixed, and I went around and mingled. I quickly realized, once things got rolling, that Alex could use an extra hand, so I pitched in to do some beer pouring on Big Ditch Brewery’s behalf. It would have been cool for them to have sent a rep to explain their beers, but I can understand that they’re pretty swamped over at their excellent new brewery. I hope I did a good job with recommendations, I think I only steered Krista wrong.
Once the beer was poured out, I was able to grab some pizza. So, embarrassing fact: Other than some pizza from Tops and Wegmans for work-​related lunches (which I am told does not actually count,) this was my first time actually trying Buffalo pizza. It was good! The use of tiny pepperoni was interesting, and I liked the sauce being used (I still have yet to try a pizza with the infamous sweet sauce) so overall that was great. Big Ditch sent over some decently hoppy beers, which I think go well with pizza.
I managed to finangle Fox into playing with me, we were at the tail end of the rotation. There was a little bit of slightly inebriated wobbling for some of the other players, but everyone seemed to be having a great time.
It would be pretty awesome if Monster Mini Golf could run some 21-​and-​over promotions, I know that I’d head back there for sure if they did something like that. As it is, that venue would be a great place to take kids to have a fun time. The staff is great and very helpful, the music was good, and it was an overall great time on a Monday night.

Good time! Tough course. Keep the putting below the knee. Fun prizes! Can’t wait to go back for a date night. Loved the tunes! 2 air hockey tables. Ticket winning machines. I mean, c’mon. You have to go! Good for kids of all ages!

What a great event! I’m so impressed by this event. Monster Mini Golf is a hidden Gem on Sheridan Drive! The music was amazing and made me want to stay all night long. The mini-​golf course was fun and was a good mix of challenging and somewhat easy obstacles. This is an ideal place to go with Friends or the Hubby.
The food and beverages were great and plentiful. I had such a great time tonight which reminded me why it’s so great to be an Elite!

Great Beer, yummy pizza and a great group of people. Monster Mini Golf is great for all ages, has a fun 18 hole mini golf set up with mini golf ranging from easy to more challenging, some really awesome games (air hockey, terminator, racing games, hoops and so much more). This is definately a place I will return to both with my kids and hubby! Thanks Alex for the pizza and to the whole Unilocal crew for making it such a wonderful and relaxing event. I will be looking forward to future events!

Can’t believe how much fun I had at this event! First impression of the venue: Psychedelic ‘60s throwback! Neon, blacklights, FUN! We dined on Leonardi’s Pizza, beer was served, then we split Into teams & played miniature golf, monster, glow-​in-​the-​dark style. Not a terrific golfer, I got caught up in the terrific 70s & 80s dance music & my golf club was used for a microphone, a guitar and a violin as I danced like a youngster again (my team was very patient with me). This would be a great place for a teen party, or date night, or a family outing. The staff was very welcoming, friendly and kind.

One of the greatest things about Unilocal is that it allows you to learn about places that you never knew about before. Sometimes it’s by browsing though the site… sometimes it’s by seeing where other « Unilocalers» have checked in… sometimes it’s by word of mouth… and sometimes (this time) it’s by attending awesome events at places you never even knew existed.
I have driven by the strip mall where this place is located dozens of times and yet I never even knew it was there. It’s such a cool place and it was literally hiding in plain sight.
Once I entered I was transported into a very cool, glow-​in-​the-​dark psychedelic world filled with a fun and quite challenging mini golf course and a bunch of assorted video games, The space, while dark, is wide open (which I am sure parents who bring their kiddos would greatly appreciate).
The mini golf was great fun… and the beer and pizza provided before-​hand were delicious and appreciated. I don’t think I have had Leonardo’s Pizza since my undergraduate days… and it’s still as good as I remember… and paired with Big Ditch Brewery beer, it was a great meal.
Thank you for a super groovy event! I will definitely recommended this place to others (especially those with kids and teens). I’m so glad that I learned that it’s around!

A killer event through and through! Great food, awesome drinks, and the best company to be had. Monster Mini Golf staff were friendly and fun. The music was right up my alley. And above all we had a great time competing and playing in the black lit facility! I’m certain we’ll be back with friends in the near future!

Ok. This place is cool. Walking in you are brought into a dark and glowing space. Tons of glow in the dark things all over.
There are video games, air hockey and of course mini golf. There is also a private room which is where we ate pizza from Leonardis and drank beer from Big Ditch Brewery. That was fun.
Then we played mini golf. Which I don’t think I’ve played since summers at the beach before bars became more interesting. So it’s been a while.
This course is fun. Not too hard and not too easy, you could make a hole-​in-​one, but it’s unlikely you would more than a few times. Some holes have obstacles, others are just relying on some angle shots, but all are engaging.
The owner and employees both were super nice a friendly. Very welcoming. I’m not sure if I’ve said this before, Alex, but this was my favorite activity/​sport/​active event so far. JUST PLAIN FUN.

I love being Elite! I never knew Monster Mini Golf existed so I’m glad Unilocal was able to show me the way yet again!!! Greeted by Missy and some familiar Unilocal faces, I felt welcomed as always. I was shocked at how cool the transformation was… Walked in from the light outdoors to the totally psychedelic/​rave-​y black light darkness!
I was happy I coincidentally wore white today, the black lights made my outfit pretty neat… Including the stains on my pants, haha. Anyways, I loved hearing about the history of Monster Mini Golf from the owner himself while we enjoyed delicious pizza and some beverages from Big Ditch Brewing Company. I didn’t get my face painted but those who did looked great! How awesome that our photographer from the evening (Mike) had a Twitter connection!
Once we started playing mini golf I was pleased at how they staggered or rather shot gunned the starting points for each group. Even with the large amount of groups, we didn’t have to wait longer than two minutes for the group ahead of us at any given point. Well organized! The music was great and the random prize giveaways were a nice touch.
Even though I didn’t win at mini golf (I got respectable second place) I decided to take my talents elsewhere courtesy of the arcade cards from Monster Mini Golf. Where did I take my talents exactly? To the air hockey tables!!! They have the super nice metal tables, my favorite! A great way to end the evening :) oh and the Elite gift will forever help my phone… My battery happens to be at 22% as I type this! I love Unilocal swag.
Thank you to all those involved for starting my week off on a great note. It’s not often I have something to look forward to on a Monday but as usual Unilocal went above and beyond! I’ll be sure to spread the word about this great local business!!!
