There isn’t a bad seat at this restaurant, whether it’s inside in the old restored row house with the interesting woodwork and with the wall décor or on the back patio in the summer. Some of the best burgers in Buffalo, all of which are named after streets in Buffalo; same for the sandwiches name. Cajun chicken was a tad spicier than I expected but the sauce it was in was delicious. On the weekends it always busy until about midnight. Alright draft beer list, heavy on the pale ales though.

Arguably the best wings in Buffalo, but I especially love going here for beers by one of their fireplaces. Great antique/diy atmosphere that makes this place and the Pink the cornerstones of Allen.

I Had just gotten back from a Bill’s game. My team, the Dallas Cowboy’s had lost miserably. It was cold, rainy and the guys and I were stuck in traffic for 2 hours. We were hungry. We got back to our hotel to change and in the elevator, this one couple was talking about the best wings they’ve ever had were at Gabriels’ Gate. We all looked at eachother with approval and the place where we were literally going to feast like viking’s was set. We got to Gabriel’s Gate and thought“this can’t be it”, but sure enough, it was and we were stoked to eat. The wing’s were big, packed with unreal flavour and cooked perfectly. I highly recommend this place and will gladly speak about it in any elevator in Buffalo. Cheers and happy eating

This place was recommended by my hotel. I was only in town for a couple of days but when you are in buffalo you have to get buffalo wings. We had a party of 14 people which they gave us the whole patio for. Food I got the specialty sandwiches on the menu. It was okay. not my favorite i expected more for a specialty sandwich. I got a full order of wings half hot and half bbq. they take like regular wings. seriously nothing special. French onion soup — salty as hell. it was still good but had to get past the saltiness. Service Our server was amazing. She was very attentive however it just took her forever to get to us in the first place. but after that man was she good to us.

Dim, and dark but have the best wings. The patio is awesome for summer nights and is lit up. The burgers are great too, and have a good selection of beer

Beautiful interior, real fireplace near the front of the restaurant. Ordered a burger and poutine, delicious. Best part was everything I ordered came out quick and the server didn’t forget any sides I ordered. This rarely happens. I didn’t have to ask for anything, she was great!

Gabriel’s Gate is a divey, but fun and casual bar which is a solid choice for wings. I haven’t tried much more of their menu aside from a french onion soup, but I’ve had their wings on numerous occasions and they are one of the best places locally for HOT wings. I would prefer La Nova’s BBQ from the pit, but Gabriel’s Gate wins out for the hot wings. Service has been pretty good the two times I’ve eaten in here and as a bonus, their kitchen is open late on weekdays(till about midnight). It took me a couple of tries to make up my mind about this place because the first time I came here, I thought the wings were a little salty and felt my expectations were maybe a bit too high. The next two times, I enjoyed them quite a bit… so I think overall, Gabriel’s Gate is great for wings, but I don’t know if I would venture beyond as nothing else on the menu seemed to hugely interest me.

Gabriel’s gate is a must. One of the best wing places in Buffalo– def my favorite. Bbq wings are out of this world. Highly recommend Gabriel’s! Chill place to go for drinks and bar food. I also got the broccoli cheddar soup to start it was pretty good. Nothing crazy but just okay. If you are in the mood for outstanding wings– go to Gabriel’s Gate!

A must go to Allentown spot. Some will say the BESTWINGS in Buffalo. Idk if I’d go that far, but they’re certainly right up there. I haven’t had any food there I didn’t like a lot. Chicken Sandwiches & Burgers are also very good. Check this place out of u haven’t yet. Especially in the winter when u can get cozy by one of their fireplaces.

Fast service. Good beer. Really liked the wings. Duffs is still my favorite but these are good too. The onion rings were the best I’ve had in a long time. Perfectly crisp. Not soggy. Menu has sandwiches, steak and burgers. I had the elmwood. Got medium well but came out well done. The toppings didn’t fall out, which I like. Next time, I’ll try the peameal sandwich. Hubby felt sanitation might be lacking but the building was built in 1864 and it’s a bar.

Crisp but you can taste the haddock. Big plus. Home cut frys extra crispy Yum yum yummy! Cole slaw fresh not overly heavy more vinaigrette style Over all people eating at Gabriel’s Gate true honest food from Buffalo done the tried and true way This is the place you take friends and family from out of town to taste the foods we love so much Five plus YUMS

When I die I hope I go to Gabriel’s Gate. They have the best wings in all the lands! All of their food is quite delicious in fact. Their bartenders are the nicest I’ve ever encountered, they make great drinks and never leave you waiting. The patio is beautiful, escpecially at night, and have a wonderful intimate feel to it. It’s the one bar on Allen that’s isn’t over crowded with rude, drunk people.

One of Buffalo’s best spot for chicken wings. Ask most locals and this is the spot that’ll be recommended.

I fully expected to be so impressed with this restaurant that I was planning on getting a Gaberiel’s Gate tattoo. I even made a reservation to get my ink done. Although my experience wasn’t quite ink worthy, it had a lot of bright spots. PROS: For starters, our service was great. I negliected to catch our server’s name but she was as good as you can expect. The wings here are tremendous. So good, in fact that Frank and Teresa Bellissimo have probably rolled over in their graves a couple of times in disdain. CONS: With it being friday and me being hungry, I tried the fish fry. It wasn’t bad, but I felt the fish was a little overdone. Also, the bar/restaurant area is a little dusty, and with it’s funky old chandelier and animal heads strung up all around it appears as if it was decorated by both an old woman and Larry The Cable Guy. Either way, I was still overall very happy with my night at Gabriel’s Gate. And as an added bonus, my new Hello Kitty tatto is so much cuter than my Gabe’s Gate tattoo was going to be.

3.5 stars. Nice little neighborhood pub with all the staples: burgers, sandwiches, classic bar darkness, and of course buffalo wings. When it comes down to the art of wings, they have got it down solid. Ordered the French Onion Soup, chef’s salad, a double of wings, a fish fry, and a Cottage St.(Beef on Weck). Chef’s Salad(2⁄5): Not really sure why we ordered this. Sub-par, avoid for future reference French Onion Soup(4⁄5): Generous with the cheese, this cauldron of rich broth and fatty goodness is all you can really ask for when it comes to French Onion Soup. At $ 4.75 a crock for this quality of soup, it’s definitely a solid option if you are a fan of the dish. Wings(4⁄5): This place takes the cake for wing technique. Incredibly crispy, lightly sauced but not overwhelmed so as to become soft, and piping hot. Even to the last wing, you could break one open to be greeted with steam. Proceed with caution, do not bite directly into the wing. However at at $ 17 for 20 it was a little pricey, and the hot sauce wasn’t as hot as I would have liked it to be(seemed more like a mild). Surprisingly was not asked which level of spice upon ordering… I guess they stick to just one. Fish Fry(4⁄5): Surprisingly good! Was expecting just two small strips but instead a huge piece of fish perfectly fried was plopped on the plate… and covered the entire plate. Also came with some solid fries and cole slaw to boot. Filling enough to feed two small stomachs or one large one, and well worth the $ 11 we paid for it. Cottage St.(3/5): The Roast Beef was tasty alright, but i wasn’t much a fan for the overly salted bun or the horseradish dressing. Got some severe sensory satiety after the first few bites… towards the end I just wanted to finish it so I could get to the wings. Stick to the fried foods and French Onion Soup, and you will be rewarded with piping hot and perfectly crispy dishes. If you’re in the area for some authentic buffalo wings cooked right, Gabriel’s Gate has got you covered. Just don’t expect a life changing experience.

Not only is Gabe’s a staple in Allentown… It also has probably the most underrated wings in Buffalo. When I judge food at restaurants, I obviously take taste into account, but I take consistency even higher. I’ve had wings here when it was dead, and I’ve had them here when every table is filled. They’ve been great every time. The Gate not only has great wings, but their other food is quite good as well. I recommend the Tuna Melt(if you’re not getting wings of course). As far as wings go, their hot sauce is not as hot compared to area wing joints(duffs, anchor, barbill, etc.), but it’s tasty. Ask for the wings crispy and I’m sure they will win you over. Service is great as well. Only thing lacking is the amount of draft choices. However, they do have their own beer on tap, which is impressive. All in all, I visit this place almost weekly. Never has let me down.

A co-worker and I got two doubles. One full plate of hot and the other plate half/half of BBQ and Cajun. Well, I’ve now had both Duff’s and this place. I can easily say that Gabriel’s Gate wins without question. My goodness these are some good wings. Sweet, crunchy, full of flavor, and perfectly cooked. Oh and one more thing… they come out steaming hot! I can’t express how hard this is for some wing joints, but they do it right here. The staff was friendly and efficient. The prices were fair. I can assure you that if I am ever back in Buffalo, this will be a must stop for me. Loved it! If I had to do it all over again, I would just get hot and maybe a couple Cajun. I’m born and raised from the South. The BBQ sauced that was used was too thick and generic. I mean, Buffalo isn’t known for its BBQ last I checked, besides Dinosaur. I guess that order was my fault. I am also very use to authentic Cajun. This Cajun seasoning was nowhere near spicy enough and didn’t have the right flavor. With that being said, I liked it. It wasn’t Cajun, but it was good. The wings were still terrific though. Couldn’t have asked for better!!!

We picked this spot for lunch today after learning that ABV did not have their full menu available to the public yet. I’ve always heard that Gabriel’s Gate had great food, but I’ve never considered eating here, until today. One thing I noticed while sitting there, extremely hungover is that they have giant portions. I mean the chicken fingers that were being brought from the kitchen were fuggin huge. I would have ordered them(and probably would have been more satisfied) but I’m a burger dude and I read that they have great ones. I ordered a Bloody Mary to start(3.75) and the lexington burger — huge patty with bacon, bleu cheese, lettuce, tomato & onion. I would have ordered something else had I known that they literally just dump half a bottle of bleu cheese on the burger instead of using crumbled. The burger came with a few crushed chips on the side and an old pickle. If I come back here, I’m getting the chicken fingers.

After Anchor Bar and Duff’s this is definitely the number three wing place in Buffalo in terms of popularity and how often it shows up on top wing lists and foodie websites. To me this is my favorite wing joint. Every WNY native has their favorite wing place whether its one of the big name places or a corner bar in the middle of nowhere. Gabriel’s Gate is mine. I love this place because it still maintains that neighborhood bar feel without becoming too touristy. On top of that it has the best atmosphere ever. It is somewhat of a hunting lodge feel meets hipster bar meets neighborhood watering hole. Also, it is inside of an original Tift Row house from the 1800’s so it maintains a historic pub look both inside and out. On top of all that it is located in the heart and soul of one of Buffalo’s most trendy hipster neighborhoods, Allentown. Go down Allen Street and you can’t miss their big rooftop figurine of the angel Gabrielle with out stretched arms. Service is always good here and I’ve never had to wait for a table all of the times I’ve been here. Also, this is probably one of the only big name wing places where you pay less than a buck per wing. Most others are over a dollar per wing now. It goes without saying that their wings are amazing. I especially love their BBQ wings. It has become a ritual for me while here to order an appetizer of their spinach bread to munch on in between wings. Lets face it, wings go better with at least one other type of food whether its pizza, spinach bread or whatever else may come to mind. Their medium wings are a great ode to the original Buffalo style wing and the bleu cheese is always spot on. The one thing I have to mention which it almost pains me to say is that their Cajun wings are just not up to par with their other flavors. On multiple occasions I have found the Cajun wings to be bland and dry. If you want good Cajun wings go to Elmo’s in Getzville. Otherwise, their other flavors here are the best in my opinion.
