I’d give this place ZERO stars if I Could. I’ve had multiple bad experiences with this restaurant. Incident 1: Years ago they forgot HALF our order and when my fiancé went in(rightfully pissed that he had to drive back!) to get the food, the manager gave him a hard time. He asked to speak with HIS boss and was told this guy was the owner. Guy basically said«if you don’t like how I talk to you, don’t come here then» SO… we didn’t. For YEARS. Incident 2: Fast forward, I finally decide to give it a try. There was a broom/‘dustpan set(the dustpan is the one on a long pole that opens when you set it on the floor) leaning on the warmer/island thing where they keep the cooked chicken warm. The kid at the register took my money and then went to get the food but the cleaning stuff was leaning in his way. He grabbed them and moved them and then without washing his hands grabbed tongs and got my chicken. Not horrible, food wasn’t touched… but the next person touching those tongs don’t know they aren’t clean… but whatever. So the kid goes around the back to get a plastic bowl to put together a mashed potato bowl I ordered, and placed both thumbs inside the bowl as he walked to the staging area. As he’s making the bowl I’m trying to get his attention and the manager(same guy from first incident) walked up and asked if he could help me. I told him about what happened, he went to the staging area, took the bowl from the guy and said«He had his damn fingers in the bowl!» set the bowl to the side and made me a new bowl. As he’s finishing up, a person from the drive through came to make a mashed potato bowl and the manager gave her my rejected bowl and said«Here, just use this one.» I reported this to the health department. I did not hear back. I boycotted the store for another few years, but decided to give it another try. Incident 3: We went to their eat-in buffet a few times. Nothing special. Sometimes their food didn’t feel up to temp(the dumplings/pasta were cold) but I didn’t make a stink about it… until last month I was there and the manager/owner(same guy again) had two crew members SWEEPINGTHECEILING in the food prep area. I kid you not. They had those straw bristle brooms and were sweeping the styrofoam ceiling tiles and there was white crap flying everywhere. They were towards the rear of the food prep area(far right as you are facing the registers with the buffet to your left) but that’s not even 20 feet away from the registers. 30 feet if you are being generous. This funk was raining down everywhere being blown around, and who knows how clean the brooms were! I walked up to the register and inquired as to the health safety of this activity while food was out a few steps away. The person at the register told me that all the food prep stuff was covered and it was ok. As I’m there and making a hesitating«yuk» face, the manager/owner(same guy) came over and said«What’s going on here?» and I asked again and he said«oh that’s ok, the food prep stuff is covered.» I said«Yes, but the food over here isn’t and you have the ventilation system going and it’s going to fly all over this place.» he dismissed my concerns and said again that it was ok. I went back to my table to get my young child out of there. Within a few minutes, the manager obviously rethought the intelligence of his decision and had the crew members stop. I have no clue if he had them start up again after I left. I tried to report this to the health department but was unable to find the online form to do so. Instead, I have notified corporate HQ about these health code violations. I don’t trust this guy(owner/manager). He comes across as cocky and indifferent to the rules. With my limited exposure to the restaurant and the high percentage of those being poor experiences, I will NOT be returning to this store and I will tell anyone I know to stay away from there. I don’t trust their cleanliness practices nor the judgment of the owner to make good decisions for the public. Incident 4: I sent in a complaint through the official KFC website and it was just forwarded to said owner(mentioned above) and he called me offering me money«to make things right» I told him I didn’t want his money and he proceeded to confront me and say that he’s proud of his store and hasn’t done anything wrong and went on and on about how he has customers from the cities(40+ minute drive away) who come all the way out to Buffalo just to eat at his restaurant it’s THAT good. Come on, really? Every time I tried talking he’d interrupt me and continue on and on about independent inspectors, clean records, etc… the guy is full of himself and thinks that what he did was just fine. I could hardly get a word in and I just ended up hanging up on him when I got LITERALLY halfway thru one sentence response before he interrupted again and went on another rant. I’m done with him and now I’m going above his head. Do yourself a favor and stay away.
