For the first time in 8 years I have to do laundry in a laundromat, and the Laundry Basket was my first stop(born out of convenience) on my quest to find a regular place to suit my laundering needs. This place is a tiny storefront in a strip mall, and there is an employee-manned desk located up front near the door. As far as prices go: a single load washer is $ 2, double is $ 2.75, and a triple is $ 3.75. Dryers are available in 25 cent increments, and each quarter seems to be buying me ten minutes or less. They also do wash and fold service, but I do not have pricing on that. The place seems tidy and of acceptable cleanliness, and the machines appear to be properly maintained(albeit a bit old). Overall, I don’t think I will be back. I don’t like to leave my things unattended, so I need to be able to wait comfortably while my clothes wash and dry. At the Laundry Basket, I can’t really do this, for reasons twofold. First, seating is limited; there are a smattering of hard red seats along the front wall, and a tiny red metal table with four attached seats(that are equally uncomfortable) that looks like it belongs outside of a summer hotdog stand. My second reason for dislike is that there doesn’t seem to be any heat on in this place – at all. There are 5 or 6 dryers running, and I am huddled in a corner, unable to take my jacket off(and practically shivering), praying for my laundry to dry swiftly. In my opinion, bad seating and freezing cold temperatures do not a happy customer or good experience make. Lastly, I’m also disappointed that they don’t have wifi. For the wash and dry of a small load, it takes about an hour(minimum). Any time I know I have to be stuck somewhere without anything to do for at least an hour, I would like to be able to get some work done and that pretty much always involves the Internet. In short, my search continues… So I wrote that while I was waiting, then took my laundry and left. Most of my laundry had been dried in the dryer, but there was a small load of delicates(undergarments, light sweaters) still wet as the items needed to be hung dry at home. I got home and took my wet delicates out of the basket, and noticed that not only were they not clean, the larger items looked like they had been barely splashed with water and were very obviously NOT clean(so only 1⁄3 of the clothes had even been saturated with water). Upon further inspection of a tee shirt from a small/medium-sized load of whites that was normally washed and dried in the dryer, it smells unwashed and I can tell it was recently worn. Good to know that I spent $ 7 at this place and only 2⁄3 of my clothes were actually fully washed. I ran three loads, none of which were large(it was about a week of laundry). My clothes also have a weird chlorine smell to them now. Never again.

I dropped of a wool jacket for dry cleaning. Not only did it take 5 days for them to do the jacket but they didn’t clean it. It was actually lintier than how I dropped it off and there was hair on it that does not belong to me that was not there before I dropped it off.
