Absolutely love it here! It took me forever to find a place I felt comfortable at. All the girls who work here are amazing and they all work as a team. You don’t see that at many places. I can give them an idea of what I want and they will make it happen. You will not be disappointed!

I have been going to Amber for my haircuts for about 7 years. She is friendly, talented and an excellent stylist. I like that she tries different products on my hair and I can chose the ones I want to buy, without any pressure. I strongly recommend this salon!

Michael has been cutting and coloring my hair for 20+ years. Every haircut is wonderful and grows out beautifully. I’ve had many, many friends comment how they would like to have my hair color, and for a few years when I was a red-​head, people always thought it was my natural color.
A dear friend comes from Chicago to have Michael cut her hair because she can’t find anyone in Chicago who is as thorough, taking the time to put lots of subtle layers in her style.
Everyone is warm and welcoming at Michael the Salon. I can’t say enough good things about the place.

In a time when people are complacent with substandard customer service, the staff at Michael the Salon has proven that providing excellent customer service with style and grace is critical to success. I have been a client to Michael for more than 15 years and had never had one single bad experience. As a matter of fact, many of his clients have been with him for just as many years. That alone is a true testament to the quality Michael provides. He treats everyone with respect and dignity. Additionally, he is also concerned with making sure his staff are also well trained and up to date with the latest in styles and products. My 10 year old son has been going to Michael since he was 9 months old and would not want anyone else cutting his hair.
The fact of the matter is that he and his staff are top notch and among the best you would ever find in Western New York.

What concerns me about the owner comment on this review was not so much that he had a dissatisfied client but that he was offended that another client’s style was insulted. Yes, my original review did exclaim «woof!» (what, no one else ever says this about another person’s style??) at the end over said client’s obviously fake hair. I own it. And I don’t see anything wrong with this. Regardless, I don’t like giving my business to folks who can’t take constructive criticism and have to «bark» out their own petty insults. Clearly, she doesn’t do her own hair… What drove me to write this review in the first place was that an employee of the salon reviewed their place of business with a 5-​star review. Ethically, that is not how a site like this works and it violates the Unilocal Terms of Service anyway. I most certainly would not recommend this salon to anyone now after the owner’s response. If you cut good hair, people will come back. If you don’t, they won’t. Easy enough to understand…

Came here with a coupon for a haircut. I mostly needed a trim in the back and to de-​bulk my hair since it gets poufy when it grows. I have natural wave/​curl especially around my temples. If these areas aren’t cut properly they tend to stick out and look crazy without ample product applied.
I liked the high sinks which didn’t require me to lay down in the chair to get my hair washed. And the hair scrub and scalp massage I got was nice and appreciated. But that’s where the pros stopped.
I’m sure that the stylists here have talent but I’d didn’t feel it when I came in. First off, we had about a 10 second consult. Clearly, my needs were hardly considered since the back was still way longer (I have VERY short hair but it grows so quickly), my curls were cut so they pop out now, and I don’t feel like it was «thinned» enough.
To add to the mess, my hair was styled like I was an old lady. I am 31. I choose to have a pixie hair style but I want to look 31 not 81. I was very surprised that this was the case since the stylist who had to be at least 10 years older than me had a really cute, funky short hairstyle. I don’t get why any stylist would choose to style any client as if they are old ladies. Unless they are old ladies and like it that way. I don’t.
When I got home I had to chip at the back with scissors to fix my haircut. Not okay. I usually give cuts a 2-​week grace period to decide if I really like my style. A week out and it’s okay. Not the best cut I’ve ever had but not the worst either. I should add that to maintain the pixie, I have to get clipped every 3 – 4 weeks so to have to wait 2 weeks to like something is really a wash. I should like it right away.
It’s highly likely that I won’t come back here. Especially when I saw a local TV personality with long blonde extensions walk in and I realized she gets her hair done here. Let me just say, those extensions look like a bad fright wig. If I were this TV localebrity, I’d quickly find another stylist or rethink the extensions all together. Yikes (originally «woof»)!
