As authentic as you would expect for a Mexican restaurant started by a guy named Scepkowski. Order it spicy or you’ll just taste lettuce and sour cream.

Mighty taco is the buffalo fast food taco restaurant that we have all grown up with. This location tastes just as wonderful and familiar as the rest. However, my last three burritos were pint sized portions of the particularly pleasant pabulum that I had previously pigged out on! Perhaps they are saving money? Probably I am unlucky!

The only reason you should eat here is if it tastes like pure, sweet nostalgia. The only other acceptable excuse is that you’re too drunk to know what you’re eating.

My first review. Of mighty taco… Wait, what? Okay, the reason this is my first post is the exceptional service of this place. Honestly, these guys are personable, and do a stellar job. At 10 on a Sunday. Well done mighty taco!

Why is this place still in business? The food is ok, but they have missed many opportunities to make this better. Chips are served in a sealed bag? Does not soubd fresh or inviting. Service? The staff does not know the menu. Especially the off menu promotions. Every question the cashiers asks results in an upcharge.(you need to tell me how much before upcharging me). Or if I ask… Is that an upcharge? My question is met with confused eyes or «I dont know» Mighty taco… I know that your sales are down from prior years. Now is the time to fix this before it is too late.

I’d rather stop here for fast food than go to McDonald’s. The Chicken fajita is okay, that or the nacho deluxe with chicken or a chicken salad and Mighty Taco offers wheat shells as well, it’s better than the flour ones. This isn’t the greatest food but better than the alternative if you need something quick on the go! It’s fast food people so please, if you’re looking for authentic Mexican Food don’t go to Mighty Taco! FYI — There isn’t a huge Mexican population here in Buffalo so you won’t find they real deal. Besides, this is a fast food joint, similar to Taco Bell and that isn’t authentic either. P. S. I heard El Palenque on Niagara Falls Blvd. had some decent Mexican food but I haven’t been there yet so I can’t really say… Go check out their Unilocal reviews first!

I was the dd last night. Took some drunk friends for tacos around 1am there was an item missing, and we got two wrong burritos. Little known fact, I worked here in high school. I can order so efficently that they don’t need to ask me all those follow up questions. Cashier rang it in perfectly and read it back to us. These were not difficult items. a super mighty somehow got replaced with a bean and cheese burrito and we were missing our nacho cheese… what good are chips without nacho? I used to love Mighty because I could get a bean burrito when I am in a rush and not feel guilty about eating fast food. That«smoke» flavor they added is just awful! From what others who work there have told me the beef is now infused with a ton of soy. The quality of their product has changed so much in the last ten years that I rarely eat there anymore. If I do — the chicken fajita is the only way to go. I will add, this is the cleanest restaruant I ever worked in. You can feel pretty safe about avoiding hepatitis here.

Don’t understand the five star reviews this place gets? The meat tastes like it’s from a can and the tortillas look like they were packaged. I would rather eat Taco Bell. Or Del Taco. Or anything else.

Tonight I visited mighty taco for the first time in 3 or 4 years. What happened to their super mighty burritos? It was half the size I remember. We were very disappointed. If this is the way mighty does super mightys now, then they are making poor choices as a company.

Had to stop in to see what makes a mighty taco since it’s a Buffalo exclusive fast food joint. The service was friendly and she was nice to explain all the ingredients of some of the new items. It was clean and the food was good.

Can not say enough about Mighty Taco, and that included oh how much I have missed you. I took full advantage of my visit back home in Buffalo, NY and I have to review this particular place. the customer service especially in the drive thru was completely satisfing and fast. I ordered two super mighites and a drink and was completely happy. lol. The workers was nice and friendly and took my order correctly. The food was awesome and just how I remember it. Wasnt too saucy, and was made to perfection. If your looking for a quick bite to eat or a quick dinner, etc give Mighty a try. I only wish it was one in Richmond, VA. 4 stars

Worst«mexican» food in the world. Fish taco tasted like 1 month old fish sticks. Prices are ubsurd for less than Taco Bell quality taste. Waste of money, cant believe the prices… I threw my food away…

Not originally a native of WNY, I was new to Mighty Taco when I first came to Buffalo. I quickly learned this will have to be my replacement for Taco Bell per availability. My first meal here was the chicken burrito, but since then I have moved to everything from carne alota to max buffito. For what it is, Mighty Taco is pretty tasty. The chicken, at least, tastes like it came from real chicken and not pink slime like many other fast food chains do. I never really crave Mighty Taco, but I will stop by once in a while if I am hungry and want something quick to eat.

For this week I decided to treat myself to Might Taco, which meant I had to drive a little further from my workplace. I am a big Taco fan, especially Chicken Tacos and I was craving it for lunch. What I crave is what I get, so I took the drive. Went in and the line was not too long considering it was lunchtime. I made my order for two chicken fajita tacos with mild sauce, and a lemonade. My lunch was great, the service was quick, and the environment was friendly. It was not crowded, and I was able to move around.

Wait… they have a brand new menu??? I tried the Garden Burrito off the new vegetarian menu. It’s definitely a good move on Mighty’s part to add new items to the menu. Personally, I think that Mighty is AWESOME for a late night snack after a night on the town(aka drunk food)…but not so much as a regular meal. I had eater’s remorse afterward — there are far better choices in the area for a bite to eat when sober. WNYers love their Mighty Taco!

How to tell if someone is from Buffalo. Ask them if they want to go to Mighty Taco or Taco Bell. If they say Taco Bell, then they’re obviously a vile infiltrator sent here from some lesser city, most likely for nefarious purposes. Look, I know this isn’t Mexican. Buffalo has no Mexican restaurants. This is fast food tacos as imagined by a Polish Grandmother. Calling it Mexican is like calling McDonalds«French» because of the fries. I totally get all that. Yet…well, it takes leaving the region to make a person miss the flavor of Mighty Taco. I would be in another city craving the taste of a super mighty with hot sauce.

Mighty Taco is one of my most definitive Buffalo snack food jaunts. It is also quite the divisive Buffalo chain. It seems about 50% of people hate it(mostly those from non-state or loyal Taco Bell proponents). But I have always been a big promoter of local area chains, and Mighty Taco is the epitome of such. All but forgotten outside of Western New York, Mighty Taco is very cheap, open late, and has multiple locations which have satisfied the late night UB munchies — which in those days, occurred with much greater frequency. With its distinctive logo, Mighty Taco, especially their burrito«The Super Mighty» ordered hot(3 dollops of delicious hot sauce) is a taste of my college days. Those expecting authentic Tex-Mex, or even something akin to familiar fast food Mexican like Taco Bell will be sadly disappointed. But this is junk food at its fast-food finest. And I always try to make a quick stop whenever I am back in the area. One bite into my Super Mighty, followed by a dunk into their suspect(this couldn’t not possibly be healthy) liquid nacho cheese whiz sauce from my «Mighty Pack» and I am at instant ease. …until a few minutes after finishing when my colon punishes me severely for abusing it. …But then I can just wash it all down with the sugary sweet Loganberry, a definitive Buffalo soft drink.

For a cheap lunch or late night after the bar food, Mighty Taco gets the job done. For sure way better than any Taco Bell. Truthfully I stopped eating their meat awhile ago, but a Bean and Cheese Burrito w/lettuce, tomato, medium and sour cream from here is alright by me. Or get a taco hard shell the same way. Why not even both its less than $ 4. Plus if you want desert those empanadas are not bad. Apple or Cherry is a toss up for me. Get one with both burrito and taco described as above all for less than $ 5 and your talking a pretty sweet deal. Just had some for lunch from this location and it was as good as always.

More like crikey taco than mighty taco. Sorry. Personal Experience: I’ve only been to this location maybe twice, because it’s near the better, 24 hr Louie’s, and the awesome Wise Guys pizza and Daddio’s, both open til 3am or so. Both times it was just an average Mighty Taco, with that awful taste in the ground beef, and with that horrendous obsession from everyone I ever go out with(younger, drunk people) that say it’s «the best Mexican»… don’t get me started. Employees here are fine though, I just can never get into the food. I haven’t been back to this location in since 2010 but I bet it hasn’t changed. Chain info: There are lots of Buffalonians that know food, but those that tell you«if you are only in Buffalo one day, try Mighty Taco», or say«WNY has great food, for example, Mighty Taco», are not among them. They are what is affectionately known as delusional, and we would never be caught dead in the vicinity of Mighty Taco. I once heard someone on Unilocal describe fans of Mighty Taco as suffering from the food version of Stockholm Syndrome. That would be hilariously funny if it wasn’t so regrettably true. Every location of MT is busier than every local Buffalonian food joint I have ever reviewed, and also busier than most other fast food outlets too. That last point is not a bad thing since I don’t like national chains anyway, but the former is a tragedy. Buffalo DOES have some good Buffalo Tacos, in fact some amazing ones which have nothing to do with Mexican food, usually served by local Pizza/Wing joints or even bars… but Mighty Taco is one step below Taco Bell. Did you hear me? I said one step below Taco Bell. Yes. I know that seems impossible. Like a contradiction in terms. An oxymoron. But it’s true. I thought Taco Bell was the worst food on earth. Until I tried Mighty Taco. It is just… so… bad. Please, please, please stop associating this place with Buffalo. Buffalo has the best food of any small city in the USA… but Mighty Taco, along with Anchor Bar and Duff’s… is one big local embarrassment. The less famous places will rock your world. Read about some of them in my reviews :) Mighty Taco… just stop.

Mighty Taco is Buffalo’s awesome, local, open-late, cheap and fast answer to Del Taco(as we Michiganders enjoy). I would compare neither joint to Taco Bell, as both MT and DT offer fresher, tastier items that are not the greasy, muddled pile of beef and cheese that TB boasts. When it comes down to it, it is still mexican fast food open late to cater to the bar crowd. No one is hitting the drive through buzzed at 2 a.m. looking for authenticity. You want something cheap, tasty, and fast. Mighty Taco gets the job done well. My favorite was the Buffito(why not call it a Buffalito? anyway.) which is a chicken soft taco with the meat dredged in spicy buffalo sauce. Delicious.
