First off, Dr. Mostowy is a super-friendly, nice guy. And that’s about all the good I have to say. I suffer from Fibromyalgia and have an extremely low pain tolerance. I explained this to Dr Mostowy. He said it wouldn’t be a problem. When it came time to get a filling done, he gave me what was the smallest amount of Novocaine a dentist has EVER given me. He comes back in a few minutes and asks if I’m good and numb. I tell him that I don’t feel numb at all, and he should probably give me more. He says he’ll try it out and see how it goes. After about 10 seconds, I screamed in pain. He says OK, let’s try more Novocaine. He again puts a minuscule amount of Novacaine in my mouth. Comes back 5 minutes later, asks if I’m numb. I tell him that I barely feel numb and that my last dentist(who I had to leave when my insurance switched) gave me much more. He didn’t seem to care. What followed was, without question, the most painful filling I’ve ever had done. There’s no way I’m getting anywhere near that office again. I’ve never had a problem with a dentist not giving me enough Novacaine — even at UB Dental School, where I was treated by a *student*. The doctor is nice, but the service was just awful and I found most of his office staff to be kind of rude.

This was my first dentist appointment here. It seems to be a typical Dentist’s office. Dr. Mostowy was friendly, as were all the staff members, and I am satisfied with the care they provided. When I arrived for my first appointment, I had forgotten my insurance card, but they were able to look me up and said I could just bring it next time. That bumps them from three to four stars.
