I love this place. It is very small but usually have what I need. The guys in there are always helpful and friendly! The prices are also very reasonable. My go to spot.

Excellent. When looking for a liquor store in a town you are not from, always ask the locals where to shop, because they are likely to send you to a place called On the Rox(with an «X») whose sign is upside down(intentionally, I hope). OTR had very reasonable prices and a wide selection of spirits and wine. We quickly found the bourbon we were looking for, paid, and were headed out, when all of the sudden, we spotted a lady offering samples. Well, when in Buffalo… Yes, the samples were of a horrible bourbon with peach and raspberry flavorings. But they were free, and we ended up having a lovely conversation with the lady serving, who was 51 days from finishing nursing school, and found our comparison of her product to Dimeatap hilarious, save for the fact that Dimeatap is a thousand times better. I don’t plan on returning to Buffalo any time soon(2005 was the last time I was there), but I’d swing by OTR should I need a nightcap at my barless hotel.

on the rox has the lowest everyday prices on things like box wines and carlo rossi. They also have the best hours, their open until midnight thursday thru saturday and noon to 9 on sundays(everyone else is closed). it is very conveniently located up and around the sheridan-bailey region in amherst. They have the biggest selection of 375ml and 200ml bottles in all of buffalo, no joke. the staff is very helpful and will do carryouts if you need them to. there is also usually a free tasting every thursday, friday and saturday night if you time it right. for even better deals you can just pick up a copy of the amherst bee at the front door(FREE newspaper), they have a ton of coupons right in there! I’ve gone to the big wal-mart style liquor stores here’s what happens. You never get a good parking spot so you end up trekkin it, by the time you get inside the situation takes on a different dimension because now I feel like I’m on an episode of LOST(stuck on an island alone with nobody to help) maybe 30 minutes goes by, by the time I track somebody down and they show me to what I’ve been looking for only to find out everything is $ 5-$ 10 more a bottle? I’ve learned that these big stores(premier) prey on the uneducated consumer. I live locally and will shop at On the Rox from now on. they are very inexpensive, very friendly and I’m in and out of there like the breeze

If you’re a UB student, this is a decent place to stop on your route to south campus for partying. The later hours of operation are nice. Otherwise just go to Premier. Their prices and selection are better.

I’ve been going to this liquor store for years and quite frankly it does the same for me that a Premier does. Okay, maybe Premier has a bigger selection with the new addition/angel of having local products available for purchase, but On the Rox gets the job done. All the workers are extremely friendly and they know your face and eventually your name. Thats the kind of customer service I like. The prices here are fair and more often than not they have some type of deal going on! Definitely a place to shop at if you’re in need for some liquor and you’re in the area.

Surely small with a strange entrance and exit set-up but has your basic liquors, wines, and spirits. Prices are fair and selection is decent. The guy at the register was really nice and sweet! I forgot to buy ice and he let me cut the line to pay for it. Haha.
