Still nothing there, used to have alot of neat items. Tell me there isn’t something going on with the good merchandise, very fishy I have been going there for 20 years and I never see anything worth while buying there anymore!

This Salvation Army branch is one of the largest in the city, with a complete array of everything you’d expect to find – clothes, furniture, dishes, etc. Be prepared for a little Jesus in with your thrift-store shopping. The big score here, though is the huge AS-IS building – a separate structure from the main store and open only sporadically. Here, nothing is priced(you’ll have to ask the guy at the counter), but you’ll find a little bit of everything in various degrees of repair. Expect it to be CHEAP. On a recent trip, I picked up two solid-wood bottom cabinets from a 1980s kitchen to use as bases for a screen-printing table. Each one was a whopping $ 2. How can you beat that? On the same trip, my friend picked up two rolls of vintage wallpaper in very good condition for $ 1 each.

So what to say about the Salvation Army? Its a terrific and easy place to drop off the still wearable clothes you are Spring cleaning out of the closet. They take books as well. The people who work there are all very helpful, they will come and get things from your car etc. Their website lists what they take in. Its a little farther for us than a Goodwill drop off, but its much easier here, so worth the drive to us. I have never been into the store itself, so cannot comment on that.

Ambiance/service — Friendly older ladies usually running the counter; if Jesus-y comments like«have a blessed day» don’t offend you, you will find the service quite charming. The store is reasonably clean and stink-free for a non-consignment/botique style thrift shop, although it clearly hasn’t been updated in a long time. Ample parking but the lot itself is very industrial — zero green space/shade. Cleanliness of the lot is okay. This location also shares a lot with the job training center and other various SA run buildings. Selection — They have a decent selection of skirts and tops, but I haven’t found much else here. They also have a propensity to put out more ripped/stained stuff than other thrifstores in the area(such as Goodwill). My favorite thing here is the furniture. For a small location they always loads, it’s in good shape and VERY cheap. I got a sweet 1970’s dining room table here for $ 5. Overall a good short stop if you want to kill an hour or an «appetizer» before you go to a bigger, better stocked place.
