Such a fun, interesting, and NEW dining experience in the Queen City. Same Old Antics is pop up dining featuring a delicious menu tailored to a specific theme. The location is TBA up until a few days before the event(such mystery!) and the dinners are intimate — only about 20 – 25 people. I went to the December«Poorman’s Pop-Up.» It was OUTSIDE! Yes outside in 37 degree weather — but it was so fun! The theme was the«Duality of double dipping.» The menu featured two delectable grilled cheese sandwiches — first a challerhocker & St Angel grilled cheese AND a spinach and garlic with aged goat gouda grilled cheese. THEN the idea was to dip the sandwiches in the two soups served — roasted tomato & cream of mushrooms and leeks soup. From the bread to the cheese everything just tasted so fresh! Mulled wine was the featured libation during dinner — the 37 degree weather didn’t seem to bother anyone. But wait there’s more! The meal ended with mexican hot chocolate marshmallow hand pies and boozy cider. You’re probably wondering what these hand pies are(see photo). Reminded me of a stuffed crêpe but more delectable and delicious! I was so full from the dinner but naturally had to finish my dessert. The chef(Emily) came out throughout the meal to explain what we were eating — it’s a neat thing to hear where the cheese comes from and the fact that someone on the West Side just grows mushrooms that were featured in the mushroom soup — who knew? This pop up is a great addition to the Buffalo food scene. Emily is quite a talented chef and I cannot wait to experience more pop ups. To reserve your spot at the next pop up email:
