I was outside with a friend while she was smoking her cigarette on break and she looks at me and says«You look like you should have a Stitch tattoo.» Next thing I knew I was looking for local tattoo shops to get some new ink done. I had the day off and figured I would check out a few shops to check out local artists and see rates and make sure I clicked with the artist and they understood what I wanted while still having rates that I could afford. After driving around downtown Buffalo, and heading into three separate shops, I decided I would get the tattoo another day and follow up with the artists that I had already spoken with but on the way home, I passed by Shamus McInky’s and decided I would stop by one more place because they were at the end of my street. I walk in the door and, being a Wednesday night, they weren’t busy and I asked to see a portfolio of work. The artists there were pretty friendly and helpful and after reviewing the books with my wife I asked who the best artist they had with cartoons. I ended up speaking to Lou, super friendly guy and relatively new to the shop, he listened to what I was looking to get done and we put together some resource materials on the spot. After showing me what the tattoo would look like, including spacing and talking through his plans, I asked how much it would be and I was more than satisfied with the quote. I then get the question. «Did you want to just get this done today?» How could I say no? Three hours later I walk out with my favorite tattoo and I’m extremely happy that I walked into the shop. I definitely recommend checking out this shop and getting some work done. A-class artists and all extremely friendly.
