Between the beautiful interior and the great food, Taste of Siam is a knock out. They have the best pad-thai I’ve ever tasted. The only downside is the price, but if you’re looking for somewhere a little fancy for date night or a special occasion, this is your place. The waiters have always been very polite and friendly. Their entrée presentation is usually pretty and served in modern dishware. They have two levels for seating, both of which are warmly lit. If you have trouble going up stairs, you might want to steer clear– there aren’t any apparent ramps or elevators for the mobility impaired.

Had a positive first experience dining here :) I decided, with all my recent forays into Thai food, that I’d try something random and different. Here seemed the place to do it! I ordered jalepeno stir-fry ‘hot’ with pork. I greatly appreciated that the dish was served precisely at the spice level that I asked for, which was a little hotter than usual. I’ve found at many ethnic restaurants that when I try to order a dish medium/hot that the heat is diluted, probably because white people whine about spicy food too much. This was an EXCELLENT blend of jalepeno, onion, mini corn, and tomato with pork… very light but extremely flavorful. The BEST part was having the waitress pack my enormous amount of leftovers on top of a bed of rice. The leftovers were almost more delicious with the way she packed it! I would come back here anytime, their menu is pretty big and I’d like to try something else. A little bit different but a lot yummy! UPDATE:(I don’t like the built in feature) Came back with some friends and had the red curry with pork. YUMMM!!! Solid Thai food, this place is.

I discovered Taste of Siam by accident actually — I was looking for a Saigon Bangkok location in Elmwood Village. There is no Saigon Bangkok location in the Village, but there sure is great Thai food! The atmosphere in Taste of Siam is a bit disjointed and the seating near the big window in the main dining area can be downright frosty in the dead of winter. The 90s alternative rock mix on the stereo and the TV at the bar don’t quite lend themselves to an authentic Thai experience, but let’s be frank — you come here for the amazing food. My wife and I have been here twice. Our first time was an eye-opener from one perspective — the portion sizes. We ordered the veggie Pad Thai and the yellow curry chicken, both mild(we approach any first-time Thai experience with a timid palate, just in case the chef is on a spice bender that evening). The Pad Thai was excellent — fresh and hot noodles, a fairly mellow tamarind based sauce and loaded of veggies. We forgot to ask for steamed tofu instead of fried, but it wasn’t too greasy. The Pad Thai would have sufficed for the two of us, so we were a bit in shock when the massive yellow curry chicken came to our table — a rich and creamy curry bursting with generous pieces of chicken and tons of veggies including baby corn and a heaping side of jasmine rice. We ate about half of it and boxed the rest for next day’s lunch. On our second visit we ordered both the Pad Thai and the Yellow Curry medium spicy, which gave both dishes a richer, more authentic Thai flavour. The only drawback on both of our visits was the poor ventilation from the kitchen which permeated the dining room in an almost overwhelming way. We both left there smelling like a back alley Bangkok food truck fryer. I hope that they open the big windows in the summer for some much needed ventilation(and some fun people watching in front of the Lexington Co-op across the street!).

The food is great every time but its slow. I mean u need to be ready to spend 30−45min waiting for your dish on a friday night so if your down for that its a good place to go.

Wow. Top tier for Thai food in the area. Fantastic wait staff, friendly, great service and attention. Tom yum soup, awesome. Fried dumplings, awesome. Pad Thai, awesome. I love Thai food and am thrilled to find one that rates amongst the best.

Great restaurant right across the street from the co-op! At lunchtime it’s $ 8.50(for the vegetarian, a little more for meat options) for a healthy sized entrée(I had some to take home) with a vegetarian spring roll and a soup. The service was great and food was quick. We tried the Pad Thai and the Grang Dang, a red curry, and loved all of it. They’re Thai teas are great too! They are really accommodating with allergies and dietary preferences and were happy to make any dish sans fish /oyster sauce.

I love this place. Quiet and cozy atmosphere. The food is exceptional and the service is always great! We never have trouble parking cause we go during the week, but it is on street parking so beware. The sesame chicken and pad puk are my favorite entrees and I love the sweet plum wine!

The food here is pretty good, I love the papaya salad but the real reason I come a lot is because of the Asian waitress with the gold bracelets. I know I sound like a creep but she is fucking beautiful! Too bad she has a boyfriend haha anyway yeah the bars pretty good too, just wish they had a bigger selection on draft. Most of it is local beer which I don’t mind btw I’m writing this review while sitting here Yeah I was pretty drunk when I wrote this review, sorry lol. Bottom line — food’s tasty and beer’s cold. All you really need.

Taste of Siam used to be one of my favorite restaurants in all of Buffalo. My classmates and I would come for the awesome food and service. I hadn’t been back in a while and opted to visit for my birthday back in February with 3 other friends, but I was not pleased. The service was ok. Took awhile to place our order or catch our waitress after he left the table. The food was good though, just like I remember. My biggest issue though was my drink. My entire table ordered a round of Thai Tea. This was my first time trying it and it was good but I am not a fan of sweet drinks so I sipped it slowly throughout the night. As we paid our bill, I began drinking more of the tea and swirled my straw around to mix the cream and tea. But to my surprise when I did that, a HUGE black fly rolled over on his back toward the surface of my drink. I immediately shrieked and showed my friends who confirmed I was not seeing things. When we informed the waiter, he looked a bit surprised but not remorseful, more like unbothered. He had the nerve to ask me whether I wanted another –____-. No sir, I don’t want another«fly on the rocks», I want a refund, which he did do. More recently, my classmate was eating there and found a roach in her meal. I’ve officially resigned from eating here. I’m not sure what happened over the past year or two since I last visited but this is disgusting and I won’t be returning and highly recommend you stay away too!

WILLNEVERFORGET: FOUNDCHOREBOYDISHSCRUBBERINMYFOOD I went to this restaurant on December 20th, 2015 and in the middle of our meal MYDATEPULLED A PIECEOFSTAINLESSSTEELOUTOFHISTEETHFROM A CHOREBOYDISHSCRUBBER. What was even more mind blowing is that when I waved for the waitress to come over she proceeded to the kitchen! This only made me more upset. When she returned I showed her what we found in the meal(after taking a picture which I will also post with my review). She didn’t say anything she just stood there looking confused. Being perplexed by her strange reaction I said, «Do you want me to pay for the appetizers or something?». She talked to the manager and I heard her say«are you sure» to him(I’m assuming regarding the appetizer charge). They could barley muster a whisper of «Sorry» as we walked out. I feel bad about writing this review for several reasons. One because I know things happen in the restaurant industry. But the way it was handled leaves me to feel compelled to speak out about my experience. We felt disgusted and wanted to go out on the sidewalk and make ourselves throw up it was so upsetting. The thought of finding a nasty dish scrubber in your food. Like how does that even happen?!? I used to LOVE this place LOVELOVE as much as everyone else writing reviews on here to that effect. But I’m telling you, their pad thai will never touch my lips again because no food gasm is worth the chance of ingesting a stainless steel disgusting dish scrubber. I will never forget that meal.

I’ve eaten at Taste of Siam before and found it totally acceptable. However, as seems to be confirmed by recent reviews, I’m afraid standards have fallen off quite a bit here. The prevailing atmosphere throughout the night was of confusion, delays, misremembered orders, and impatience. There are a number of different things that could have gone better with the overall experience, but these are mostly minor and I must commend the staff for at least maintaining a pleasant and helpful demeanor even as things misfired all around them. What prompted me to write this review, however, was last nights Pad Thai. I’ve ordered the dish from ToS before and found it fine, but last night was shockingly bad. A member of my party who is Thai was so upset by the quality and flavors that she flatly refused to call it Pad Thai, and I have to agree. I was embarrassed to have brought her there to see it. The orange mound of starch had no green onions, no egg, no tamarind, no citrus flavor of any kind, zero flavor of Thai chilies or any sort of chilies at all, all topped with tasteless peanut dust that really only served to make the mass stickier by the end. It tasted to me like the sauce had come from a packet, but had also been supplemented with some condiment that had far too much sugar in it. The noodles were crumbly and seemed to turn to mush in the mouth, like an overdone macaroni dish. It was similar to ordering spaghetti marinara and getting ‘egg noodles with ketchup’ as they say in Goodfellas. I sincerely hope that whatever caused this to happen can be fixed. I have eaten here before and will possibly try it again in the future, but if you are a Thai restaurant shoving wet piles of sugary noodles at people and calling it Pad Thai, there is an issue there that needs to be addressed.

Standard Thai cuisine in a convenient location on Elwood Ave. This place is perfect to satisfy a Thai food craving with prompt service and delicious food. I’m a huge fan of the Thai iced tea which is sweet and creamy, and the pad Thai which is flavorful at any spice level. I’ve been here a million times and will definitely be back!

Me and my family are visiting Buffalo and were looking for a place to eat. We came here after looking on Unilocal and it definitely did not disappoint! They not only have great service, but also a comfy atmosphere and delicious food! We ordered from their lunch special menu and got a pad thai, red curry, and pad se ew. I also got an iced thai tea, which was great as well. Definitely recommend anyone who enjoys thai food and want a nice place to eat and chat up!

Came in on a Tue evening, and was seated right away. The restaurant itself is very nice, with white table cloth, and to my amusement modern music(i was expecting something cultural for the authentic Thai experience). The waitress quickly came and got our drinks and shortly after got our order. I opted for the red curry chicken w/thai spice(supposedly the hottest spice level) Say the least I was pretty disappointed in the spice, it barely stung which bummed me out. However the curry itself was okay, it wasn’t as thick and creamy as I’m use too, the vegetables they used tasted fresh and of good quality as well as the chicken, but overall forgettable. I tasted my friends«pud» pad thai, that was good, and my friends sesame chicken which i also enjoyed. I was pretty underwhelmed by Taste of Siam. It didn’t help that they have a rule where only 1 bowl of rice per table … ummmm we have two dishes … 1 bowl isnt going to cut it for anyone, and I sure am not gonna pay extra for another bowl that I should be entitled too, didn’t feel like i got what i payed for. maybe for lunch i’ll give it another try? but probably not again for dinner. Side note, fire broke loose in the kitchen, yet no one got up … so don’t know what to make of that

Warm, zen and lovely. This place is located where Sole used to be. We came here to take a new hire out to dinner. I decided on Taste of Siam because I heard from a couple of reliable sources that this place served good Thai food and needless to say, I heard right. This place does serve good thai food. The people working are really nice and were very helpful while walking us through the menu. The service was fast and efficient as well. Food was super tasty — we started off with fresh summer rolls. Perfectly cooked rice paper with fresh veggies and aromatic herbs. The peanut sauce was on point as well. Perfect balance of the teriyaki and peanut mixture with just the right amount of heat. I ordered the red coconut curry with veggies and white rice. Rice was well cooked and the curry was totally stealing the show. It set perfectly on the pallet and veggies were cooked just right. The dish on the whole had a good bite to it to top it all off. Definitely a good change from the popular joints like Sun and Saigon Bangkok.

Taste of Siam is almost perfect. People complain that it’s upstairs… it’s about five stairs. You can do it! The interior was such a pleasant surprise. It was warm and inviting, SUPER zen. I kicked myself for not having tried it sooner, I could see myself sitting at the bar with a book or my laptop getting work done for hours. The music was really calming and the space was really bright as there are large windows looking out onto Elmwood Avenue. We were the only people in the place around 3:30 on a Monday afternoon. We were immediately greeted by a server who told us we could choose wherever we wanted to sit. We took a seat at a table by the window and the view was great. There is an upstairs, didn’t make my way up there so I can’t comment on what is up there, but there are steps upwards so they lead somewhere! They also had a hightop table option which faced the bar that we thought about but wanted the view instead. The menu was slightly confusing. There were all of these dishes without prices, but then a separate page that indicated different kinds of protein with prices. We needed help from our server so we sought her out and she was really helpful in answering all of our questions. She explained that none of the dishes came with any proteins, you had to choose which you wanted to add and the price changed according to which protein you chose. Complicated at first, simple as can be once you get it. The stir fry dishes were all fairly similar, they differed due to an addition or removal of a particular vegetable here and there. We stuck with waters, although they did have a cocktail menu on the table at your convenience with a decent choice of wine and beer. We started off with a soup each. As our soups were brought out we saw our server grab her purse and leave the restaurant and then a new server appeared. It was a little odd and a tad unprofessional in my opinion. I am not a fan of servers leaving mid dining experience. I understand there are shift changes but it would have been nice if she had come over to tell us she was leaving and that so and so would be taking over. Minor issue, minor peeve. I had the Tom Yom soup which came highly recommended by our server. It was delicious. Lots of flavor going on. The menu indicates that it’s spicy, but I didn’t find it to be overpowering at all. My lunch partner got the Gaeng Jurd Woon Sen soup which was a clear broth with vegetables and noodles, his was awesome as well, can’t go wrong with either option. For entrees, we both added chicken and first went with the Pud Thai; flat noodles, egg, sprouts, peanut sauce, simply delicious. Huge portion, we ate the rest for lunch the next day. Massive pile of white rice was brought to the table also. The second entrée we got was the Pud Met Muang. It consisted of cashews, mushrooms, onions, bamboo shoots, broccoli and basil in a curry sauce. My dish had nice flavor, I liked the Pud Thai better. The curry sauce didn’t blow me away. Again, huge portion, had more than enough for lunch the next day. The bill came to $ 43, not bad for two courses each. We left stuffed. Will definitely come back here. Great place to meet up with a friend, but also inviting for solo diners.

Went here for lunch. Was very reasonable and they give you plenty. The waitress will asked you how you like your spices from mild to hot. I asked medium for my curry dish and was hot. I was sweating. I would go.
