I’ve spent the last two Saturday evenings with friends at Templeton Landing on the patio near the outside bar. The food, service and entertainment were all excellent. Sarah was our waitress the 1st time and Amelia the 2nd time we visited. Service was outstanding, especially when you consider how busy they were! Both servers and their assistants were very attentive and friendly. I ordered the fish sandwich the first time and a pizza the 2nd time, from the patio menu. Both menu items were delicious. Later in the evening, we sat around one of the fire pits, and they brought us marshmallows to roast, which was really cool. All around great a great time at Templeton!

I am so perplexed at the 1and 2 star ratings TLIS receiving. People who demand to sit outdoors in April(against management’s advice) and then rip the restaurant because they were cold. or it rained. or it was cloudy. This was TL” fault? The times I have dined there have been glorious. Especially Sunday brunch on the top patio with D. J Milk. The fruit carving station is so luxurious, much fresher than some glum chef sawing on a hunk of dead cow. The rolling bloody Mary carts are fun and surprise surprise, there was a tiny little slider on top of my drink! it was almost(too) pretty to eat. I had eggs Benedict and DC had Belgian waffle with fruit and(real) whipped cream. we shared, of course. a great brunch, a warm sunny Sunday. many thanks to john Dingman, General Manager who gets blamed for all the problems and is rarely recognized for his day in, day out hard work. he’s the straw that stirs the drink.

Go for drinks on the patio, not for the food! I especially enjoy on a weeknight when it’s not too busy, sitting next to the fire pit on the patio with a drink on hand watching the happenings over at the marina. It’s peaceful and relaxing(when the seagulls are not dive-bombing your table). I most likely would not make it a regular hang out but more a special occasion or place I’d bring out of town guests on a summer night to highlight a Buffalo. Just remember thought, if you go for the food, you will leave disappointed.

I just wanted to take a moment to compliment the OUTSTANDING customer service of both our waiter, Tony, and the Manager(I believe she is technically the«banquet» manager) named, Kimberly. I went there to eat for the first time with my bible study group, and we had some mix ups with our order. However, when we brought it to her attention, Kimberly handled the situation with such grace and and superb customer service! Our waiter was absolutely fantastic running in and out of the kitchen inside to take care of us, and the atmosphere couldn’t have been more beautiful! The appetizer we started off with(a creative take on beef on weck) was absolutely delicious! I can’t wait to take my husband back there to enjoy the wonderful lakeside view, the fantastic service, and some more delicious appetizers!

If a restaurant’s location was everything, this place would merit a 5 star review. But a waterfront restaurant needs more than location. The food has to be good, not excellent, but good. A recent visit on a warm day got me a beautiful view of the waterfront, wonderful service and marginal food. The appetizer, a rice cake take on a beef of weck, was creative, but too oily. The flavors were spot on, but the grease made it unappetizing. A cheeseburger with a bacon jam sounded delicious, but first bites detected something off in the meat, and I chose not to finish it. The fries appeared to be the frozen stuff, not fresh cut. I have been here for large events. That seems to be a strength for this location. The buffets have been extensive and delicious. But the limited restaurant menu did not deliver. I will come back for drinks and the view, and happily attend an event. But this will not be a restaurant destination unless big changes occur.

Quite possible the worst dining experience I’ve ever had… –Three people in our party ordered omlettes, they were ALL wrong –my fiancé ordered the brunch burger… They brought it to him wrong twice!(He ended up getting tim hortons) –members of my party were missing their side dishes –almost everyone in my party had to get their bill adjsted because we were charged incorrectly –party of 15, several people got a different menu than than everyone else –took 3 hours to have brunch –had to go to the bar for drink refills –met strangers outside who couldn’t stop talking about how bad their experience was also Although I will admit the wait staff was very apologetic, this does not negate the fact that almost every guest in a 15 person party had something wrong with their meal or bill. Some of us spoke up and some didn’t, just dealt with it. Overall this place is probably only surviving because of its prime location

As a Restaurant Manager, there are rarely occasions that I have a dining experience that I cannot find room for improvement. However, every aspect of service was executed perfectly during my last visit to Templeton Landing. From the expertly crafted cocktails, to the amazing cuisine, there was not one aspect that would draw my criticism. The experience has definitely made the location a contender for the reception for my upcoming nuptials.(The view alone makes this place a frontrunner!) I can’t wait for my birthday in June for an excuse to come back for a few more wild berry mojitos!

Very disappointed… The view was beautiful, that’s about it. First it was FREEZING in the restaurant. The waitress were not educated on the menu. Myself, my husband and another couple dined on Saturday 5÷7÷16 evening at 7:30. The guys wanted a beer and asked what Big Ditch Beer was on Tap. The waitress didn’t know and said would ask the bartender. She came back with a beer sample and still didn’t ask what kind of beer It was, IPA, Lager, Ale? One person in the party wanted the crab cakes with mashed potatoes, instead of risotto(the waitress said it was no problem) but received risotto, one person orderd the Lobster and Mango salad that was susposed to have avocado in it, received the salad and had no avocado in it. Being only 3 ingredients in the salad, we were expecting all 3 things. We asked for the avocado on the side, the waitress said the kitchen never told her they were out of avocado. We were kinda mad since the salad was $ 18, the person would of ordered something else knowing there wasn’t avocado. The waitress said she would buy the person with the salad dessert. So we ordered a key lime pie and cheesecake to share. The waitress came back out and said the kitchen never told her they were out of cheesecake too after we ordered it… Just was a bad overall experience. It’s expensive there and hoped to get better food and service. Will NEVER, EVER go back. Not worth your time or money.

The reason to come here is for the setting and views, outside of that I am not sure there is a reason to chose this as your dining destination over any of the other restaurants nearby. Definitely beautiful waterfront location and its a great place to be in warm months when you can sit outside. The interior feels dated, a bit odd, and just leaves me feeling«meh.» The service from our waiter and even the trainee along side him was great. No problems at all in this area. The food was just ok. From the filet mignon to the«roasted» beet salad-I detected no roasting on those beets, but the salad was still ok, again nothing noteworthy. I did really like my cucumber margarita, but at $ 10.00 I was only having one as it was quite small. Would I go back? Yes, with friends for beer on the patio, but otherwise I would be looking elsewhere when in the area.

Easter brunch was very disappointing most of the food was cold and no variety. Mostly breakfast items except for a pasta station no omelet station and just ham and beef which was sliced with the grain instead of against it kinda tough.

I went to Templeton only once for a birthday party on the back patio. She had reserved the VIP section with the firepit and it was beautiful. They had beerpong(classy beerpong), smores(which we never got but hey), and a waitress who came over and took drink orders and food orders. The best part about the experience was the waitress. She was professional, while at the same time made sure to make us feel at home by coming to hang out. I didn’t order any food, but the drinks were definitely yummy. They had live music and the band sounded good, not too loud or too quiet. My only complaint was that they kicked us out right when the bar was«closing» at 11… like, kept coming back letting us know they were closed and barely left us time to finish our drinks. I would definitely come back to try the food, because its a beautiful venue and it seemed like food I would enjoy. For parties: plan ahead time-wise, other than that youre good to go!

If you’re looking for a place to eat on a nice summer night that has a beautiful view, then Templeton Landing is your place. They have one of the nicest patios to eat on during the summertime. It overlooks the water and sets a really nice tone for dinner. I’ve never eaten on the inside, but it looks decent. I just feel that this is a restaurant you go to to enjoy the patio and the view. The menu is a little bit limited(hence the one start deduction), so I hope you enjoy seafood if you’re coming here for dinner! They do have a few other options, but the highlight of their menu is definitely the seafood. They also have a nice deck menu, which consists mostly of smaller, finger foods. Even if you’re not looking for a place to eat, I suggest still coming to Templeton Landing just to grab a drink and look at the scenery. They have a bar outside on the patio and they have a bunch of fire pits that you can sit around. They will even let you roast marshmallows! During the summer they also have live music, which is great. I’ve also been to Templeton Landing for a birthday party in their VIP section on the patio. We had our own waitress to bring us drinks and food and she was great. We also had our own fire pit and there were a ton of couches to sit on inside of this section. The VIP waitress even set up a beer pong table for us and had a giant janga set. Whether you’re looking for a place to host a birthday party, a place for dinner, or just for drinks, Templeton Landing comes highly recommended.

This is an update as I tried Templeton again with my family. I didn’t want to go there, but the rest of my family said to give it another try. And they were right. We visited on an early Sunday afternoon. The place was very busy but we were sat on the outside patio like we wanted. Our server Tony was FANTASTIC! He was prompt, friendly and super funny. I don’t have to speak about the view. Everyone knows it’s a gorgeous view. Now the food. To start I tried the crab bisque(despite it being a scorching 89 degrees out). Tony reccommended it and I was not disappointed. It was creamy and hit the spot for this seafood lover. Next, my mom and I both ordered a summer lobster roll for our mains. It was very meaty and tender. We both enjoyed it. We had to get some booze. What is brunch without a mimosa?! Tony brought us all a round of drinks that we quickly drank. This place also offers $ 15 unlimited mimosas. I’d love to try that some day. After 2pm we had a pitcher of red sangria for only $ 10(I think) that was lovely and refreshing on this hot summer day. This visit really changed my previous opinion of Templeton Landing. Everyone was friendly. The food was great. And you still can’t beat the view.

I was here last week for the Unilocal elite event and I was impressed so when I found myself back at Canalside this afternoon, I didn’t hesitate to come back. The service at this place is not good. James, our waiter, was inattentive. I ordered a regular coke and got a diet. Myself or my guests were never offered a refill on our soft drinks, but my boyfriend did get his beer refilled. It took an exceptionally long time to greet us as well. We ordered our appetizer and it took FOREVER to get it out, but 5 minutes after it was served suddenly our food was also ready. Please for the love of my digestive system give me more time! Make sure the appetizer is cleared before bringing out the next course. Timing! James didn’t deliver our appetizers or our entrees so I’m not sure why the drinks were so lax. That said, the food was good! I had the spinach artichoke dip and the beef on weck. All were excellent! I love the free valet parking and the views are amazing. The service really needs to improve based on my experience(and the vast majority of the other Unilocal reviews…).

The location could not be more perfect! It’s right by Canalside. It’s gorgeous here. Not only is it on the water but the front area has an adorable koi pond and waterfall. The terrace outside(upstairs) has string lights which make it look magical at night. My husband and I had dinner here before a concert at Canalside. I had the Caesar salad and the crab bisque. The salad was HUGE and the bisque had a lot of real crab meat in it. The Caesar dressing was good. My husband had the combo platter. The oysters and clams seemed fresh; nothing tasted fishy. The shrimp that came with the platter were gigantic! They had a great texture as well. They also hooked us up with a free plate of ceviche which was nice. I also attended/stood up in a wedding here. It was very well set up. The girl who organized things knew what she was doing and was very professional and helpful. The tables looked great and everything was set up in the way the bride wanted it. She had the ceremony on their terrace. It was a little loud with the noise from the restaurant downstairs. It was not TOO distracting. After the ceremony, we went into the ballroom for a band and dancing. She did not have a full sit down meal but opted for the salad and pasta station with passed hors d’oeuvres. They offered 2 kinds of salad dressing and then alfredo or red sauce for the pasta. I had the alfredo which fine. It wasn’t spectacular but it wasn’t gross either. I tried some of the hors d’oeuvres. The shrimp sticks were decent. The tuna with the won-tons were disgusting. The tuna was fishy and the wontons were very soft and gooey while I expected them to be crunchy. I also had a beef skewer which was not great either. It just tasted like old roast beef on a stick. After everything wrapped up in the ballroom, everyone went back out on the terrace for a DJ. That was really fun! The lights were so pretty at night and everyone had a great time dancing. They had a late night nacho bar in the back as well. It’s kind of hard to mess up cheese and salsa so I really have no complaints about that. The bartenders seemed overwhelmed once everyone was on the terrace. They seemed understaffed. If you’re planning on eating dinner here then I think it’s a good choice. If you want to have event here, I’d suggest being very careful what kinds of food you choose to serve. It’s really pretty for an event and it will make your event memorable. PS If you check in with your Unilocal app, you get a free drink(up to $ 8 worth)!

Wow, I couldn’t be more disappointed. Especially for someone who deals with food often I can not express or stress that this place should NOT be visited and human beings shouldn’t consume their food. The service is terrible, it took about 20+ minutes for us to actually get a waiter. We ordered drinks and we got the wrong beer and very watered down mixed drinks. You’d think the bartender would know right? No apparently, the bartender can’t tell the difference between bud light and an IPA. The so called«fresh» bread was fresh alright… so fresh that the dough wasn’t even cooked all the way through. The portion sizes are a JOKE for the price you pay. The view sure is good, but really nothing worth paying money for at this place.

Great location and atmosphere, with an great view of the water however there was an hour and a half wait and they don’t take reservation for their outdoor patio, we were able to snag a seat yourself table and got an awesome waitress(shout out to Kaitlin!). They have different specials for every day of the week. We will definitely be back to take advantage of the Sunday bottomless mimosas. We happened to be there on Friday night when Nickle City Pimp Choir was playing which made the experience that much better!

I’m giving this restaurant 2 stars because of the view and the service. The view is great. So many bugs we couldn’t enjoy ourselves. The service was good. Our server Jennifer was polite and on top of her game. Here comes the food review. I ordered the Cioppino special. The tomato broth was so overly salted it was barely edible. That being said, the shrimp and white fish were cooked perfectly. There were no scallops, and the crab legs were covered in broth so I didn’t want to touch them. I mean, who wants to get covered in tomato broth and crab shells when they’re on a date?! Next there was pappardelle in the broth which I was really excited about because this is my favorite pasta. It’s too bad it was so undercooked that it was crunchy and not edible. Overall the meal was horrible. The cooks and chef should be replaced with people that care about the food they put out. It’s a beautiful place with so much potential. Too bad it’s ruined by the awful food.

Great atmosphere; clean and modern. The patio is a great place to chill out, as they have a drink bar and a raw bar for easy access. Friday nights when it’s warm is bananas, with music, boats, parties… inside is nice, though it can get busy in there too because this is a great place to socialize. I will definitely return! I’m on a quest to find the best calamari and I would rate theirs a 4 out if 5 tentacles on . I will also check in on FB The Calamari Quest.
