Happened on this little gem by coincidence. Was going to shack on Delaware but it was close so came here too. Cute little restaurant that have everything for everyone. Got myself the waffle and chicken sandwich. Came from NYC and always had chicken and waffles in Harlem. Of course can’t compare to Amy Ruth but close enough to hit the spot. Will be coming back here!

The Chicken and waffles are amazing. The fried calamari appetizer is some of the best calamari I’ve had. It’s a very small menu, but the items they offer are fantastic. It can be overpriced(mostly drinks) but the staff is high quality. In the summer time the patio is a must!

The Delaware sits on Delaware Avenue(surprised by that??) near Sherdian Drive. It’s a nice two story building that almost doesn’t fit the other buildings residing near it. There is a nice outdoor patio with some fire places, and even though it was exceptionally nice weather, we did opt to just grab a drink at the bar and order an app. Where is everyone? I mean, we walked in at 9pm and there were 4 couples in this whole restaurant. I always get a little hesitant when it’s that dead. Like, did we not hear something about this place that everyone else did? I have ordered take out from here probably a month ago and I thought it was good(if memory serves me correctly, I ordered deviled eggs-meh-, grilled goat cheese — delish, but probably not the best choice for take out, and an order of medium wings. The wings were the winner, fried perfectly. Crispy, but not scorched). However, on this outing, we grabbed some drinks. My other half tried to grab some draughts(Big Ditch and Southern Tier), but they were out of both, so he went to his old stand by. Jack and Coke. Me? I wanted so. ething a little more fun than that. I asked for a Cherry Limeade(in a mason jar) off their cocktail menu(cherry vodka, muddled cherries and limes topped off with 7up). Oh my! This is going to be my summer drink of 2016! So refreshing and easy to drink(could be dangerous, but we did walk to the Delaware)!! We ordered the single order of chicken wings again, and they were on point again. Nice job guys. I am huge on consistency, and this was a plus in my books. Overall a good experience at the Delaware, just wished there was a little more life in the place to make the outing feel more like an outing. I have hope and will be back for my Cherry Limeade, next time though, I’ll be enjoying it on the patio!

Usually good quality and food. However, do not order one of the ‘grain bowls’, I paid $ 15 for a tiny bowl of quinoa, broth and 3 slivers of pork… Absolutely not worth it and it wasn’t the greatest tasting either.

This restaurant is becoming one of my favorites and there’s many reasons why. The indoor ambiance and outdoor patio are perfect for a date or family dinner, and they are very accommodating with extra parking and an easy location. I ordered asparagus fries(recommended by five people) and Gouda mac and cheese which were all superb. The drinks and food are a little pricey, but well worth it. The menu has such variety it was hard to chose, and my date absolutely loved his chicken and waffle sandwich. I plan to come back just to try the drinks that look incredible! Perfect spot for lunch as well. Highly recommend, and the staff is just as wonderful.

I was here on a Saturday night with a group, and it was nothing but a great time. We ordered a bunch of cocktails, and shared the many different appetizers. Our group had the devilled eggs, shrimp cocktail, and the asparagus fries along with some delicious and flavourful sangrias, mojitos, and martinis(see photos). Though it was a busy night, our waitress was checking up on us and making helpful suggestions. The entrees were not only beautifully presented but filling as well. There was an older crowd(we’re all in school), but the atmosphere was still fun and lively.

This is a cool spot! I went for lunch with a friend. It was a Sunday and we were surprised it wasn’t crowded. Our win, I guess! The two story dining area with an ample bar was occupied by only a dozen folks making everything seem extra cozy. Word is they host a trivia night with quiz types around the bar while dining types continue to enjoy their dining upstairs. As we sat down my friend stated he was going to do the wings as they were great. It was technically brunch, but none of the specials struck my fancy. I was stuck. I knew I was going to get a shrimp cocktail because that’s basically a given for me. It’s my kryptonite! As the waitress came back for our order I decided I’d figure it out as my friend ordered, but in the time it took him to say«wings, medium» I wasn’t able to come up with much. The waitress was very cool and wouldn’t let me rush it. She put in my shrimp cocktail and promised to come back in a minute. When she did I went with a fail safe. Cheeseburger medium rare please! It’s important to note that this establishment does not make assumptions regarding your burger accoutrements. The burgers are a la carte so you can mix it up with fries or a vegetable(or whatever was offered after that as I stopped listening after deciding on the green beans). Lunch was spot on. I forgot to sample the asparagus fries which people rave about, but I’m sure I’ll be back. As Buffalo warms up from the winter chill I can only imagine chomping on an order on their outdoor patio. See you soon Delaware!

Friends and I have been here before and were always pleased with the food, ambience, and service. We had a group of 14 celebrating an event and needed to find a place that had enough space, took reservations, and had a wide enough menu selection(the event was on a Sunday and many places have limited brunch menus). We had the whole front room and were quite pleased. Our server was great and was very accommodating. The restaurant let us bring in an outside cake, which we served ourselves, and made sure we had enough space for everyone and everything. It was a wonderful celebration and definitely made enjoyable by The Delaware. Thank you!

Went here for lunch and was really impressed! A few ladies and myself caught the happy hour, $ 1 off martinis and some specials on food. We ordered a drink each. The bartender made this dragon fruit martini that literally rocked my socks! We sat at the bar and service was super impressive. We ordered the goat cheese spread, the tot poutine and the tomato and bacon flatbread. Everything was superb! The pizza was my favorite! Relaxing and trendy atmosphere. Would definitely suggest!

Everytime I eat here the food is great. The flat bread pizzas are my go to. The mac & cheese is also to die for. Sometimes the drinks are a bit too strong, but normally okay.

A great place for a meal in a place that is not typical of the restaurants nearby. Not cheap but a good deal. There are at least two items you should try: (1) The pastrami reuben sandwich is full of tender, not fatter but not dry, tasty pieces of pastrami. The rye bread is grilled. It is filling and something you may end up eating half of and taking the rest home. (2) The chicken and waffles is a take on the southern specialty. It uses waffles as the bread and a chicken filet as the meat in a sandwich. You have a choice of syrup or hot sauce to add a bit of flavor. The fries are pretty good also and make a nice side dish.

I love the food here! A smaller restaurant, The Delaware boasts one of the more interesting menus in the Kenmore area. The staff and bartenders are quick, attentive and polite. I’ve sampled the deviled eggs(a perfect, small, affordable appetizer for a quick bite before your meal) and loved them! The wings are crisp, hot, fresh, and made to order with unique sauces like rootbeer BBQ and Delaware cajun. I still stick to my medium sauce and The Delaware has it mixed perfectly — just the right amount of kick. The pork and cheddar tots are a classic Delaware staple — pork and cheddar in a tot? What more can you really ask for? Sandwiches are well made, I’ve sampled the BLAST(bacon, lettuce, avocado, grilled salmon and tomato) and the hand cut pastrami Reuben and loved them both. Ingredients are fresh and generously served. Definitely sample the sweet spud fries too! My favorite entrees include the smoked gouda mac & cheese and the chicken rigatoni. There is a lot more to try on the menu too, including steaks, salmon, pork chops, cauliflower steak and more! Definitely check out The Delaware if you’re looking for something different and comfortable in the Kenmore area!

So let me start off by saying I LOVE this place. Truly outstanding service from the minute you walk in the door till you leave. The refined staff is very attentive, timing was perfect, and very knowledgable about the menu items and daily specials. Phenomenal food and drinks! Everything we ordered from the drinks to the main course was executed perfectly.

Well, I think I’ve found my new go-to for a great casual dining experience(so long Applebee’s). I came here last week Wednesday with my girlfriend around 7pm. We arrived and had a little difficulty parking to to the small size of their parking lot, but managed just fine once we found a spot. We walked in and were greeted by the host who I believe was the owner immediately when we walked in. The décor of this place is very unique and just feels very Buffalo. We were greeted by our server who took our drink order. I attempted to order a specific beer on their menu and he replied«yeah, we don’t have that, I’m not sure why it’s on the menu» which I then stood up walked over to the bar and took a look at their taps. I got a Sam Summer and my girlfriend got the usual Pinot Grigio. Our server read off the specials for the night and then took our order. We ordered the Asparagus Fries for an appetizer which were AMAZING! Huge stalks of fresh asparagus coated in a tempura-like batter and deep fried. I believe there was about 12 in our order that were served with siracha aioli and«‘Bama-Buttermilk dressing» which was similar to ranch. These are definitely a fork and knife app as they come our piping hot right from the fryer. There were more than enough for the both of us, and could probably be split between 4 people. For our entrees I ordered a special for the day which was a rigatoni carbonara. To me it did not really taste like any other cabonara’s I’ve had before as the sauce was thick and almost Alfredo like. None-the-less, it was incredibly good and I finished nearly all the creamy, bacony goodness. My girlfriend ordered the Pretzelweck burger with a side of chips and dip. The burger was juicy and delicious and had great flavor between the caramelized onions, pretzel roll, and the tangy horseradish mayo. The chips are made fresh, and come with a massive bowl of buffalo-french onion dip and is more than enough food for 3 people to share as a side. Overall I give this place 4 stars. The food wasn’t anything overwhelming to give 5 stars but was delicious none-the-less. Our server was awesome and always made sure we had everything we needed. I can’t mention the total cost of the meal due to the fact that my sneaky girlfriend paid and wouldn’t let me see. One thing that is different for a casual dining joint is the fact that they charge for their sides with sandwiches. $ 2.25 isn’t much for a side, but why not incorporate you prices into your sandwiches instead of seemingly nickle and diming? Not a huge issue, but might be something for management and ownership to think about. I can’t wait to get back here and try some more of their delicious offerings!

What a wonderful experience! My family and a friend of ours dined on the patio this past weekend for lunch. Our server Shaunna was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly, inviting, informative and right on top of everything without being too much in your face. Some of the food was great and some was good. The Grilled Salmon entrée was fresh and full of flavor. The Pastrami Rueben my dad said was one of the best he has had in a very long time. The Ton Burger was good at best. Unfortunately, there really wasn’t much flavor. The pulled pork was plain, and the burger itself didn’t stand out. It was good and I ate the whole thing but I would try something else next time. We also ordered a side of regular French fries and Sweet potato fries. The regular were your run of the mill fries, nothing special however, their sweet potato fries were fantastic! Crispy and served with their own homemade caramel sauce. You just needed a little bit each dip but it was such a treat and more like a desert. We will all be back and I would recommend sitting on the patio if the Buffalo weather permits.

I’m a big fan of the Delaware. The menu is excellent, the drinks are tasty and the service is very friendly! The food at the Delaware is always delicious. They have a nice selection of salads, appetizers, flatbreads, sandwiches and entrees. I really like the Delaware Salad, which is topped with walnut-crusted goat cheese, mandarin oranges and chicken. I also like the Deviled Eggs, Pork & Cheddar Tater Tots, and the Smoked Gouda Mac n Cheese! I also enjoy going to the Delaware for drinks with friends. The bar is spacious and comfortable. It’s a fun place to drink a beer and watch a game. They have a nice patio in the front of the restaurant. It’s an enjoyable place to sit and watch the goings on of Delaware Ave.
