God I could write an entire treatise about my love for Jimmy John’s. For example, once I ate 4JJ subs in the course of a week. That was one of the best weeks of my life. Proximity to JJs is a major factor when I look for apartments. I’m a sub-loving man, and JJ is my sandwich shop of choice. Other sandwich shop chains don’t hold a candle to JJ. Here’s some sandwich analysis: 1. JJ is far superior to Subway. A. Bread. I can’t stand that airy bread. There’s no substance to Subway’s bread! Look not all of us are trying to be Jared, you gotta give me something substantial! JJ, on the other hand, has a thick and satisfying bread. B. Toppings. Subway, I can’t even taste the cheese on your sandwiches. JJ has mad cheese game. Also, do you ever get the guac/avocado spread at Subway? That stuff tastes awful. But JJ toppings are excellent. I love the hot peppers. 2. Jersey Mike’s is a ripoff of JJ, plain and simple. A. Bread. JM has pretty good bread, but I’d take the Pepsi challenge and choose JJ bread 10⁄10 times. B. Toppings. JM is severely lacking in the toppings department. Ok, I like green peppers but you have to offer more than green peppers, lettuce, and onions. Such an uninspired menu. 3. Quizno’s: comes pretty close, but still can’t beat JJ. A. Bread. Quizno’s bread suffers the same problem as Subway’s bread. Nuff said. B. Toppings. Quizno’s really shines here. Whenever I get a veggie sandwich, they load it up with like 10 toppings. Some places they’ve even had chickpeas. Now we’re really talking about a meal. They’ve also got great BBQ sauce and extra banana peppers. I do like a fancy toasted sandwich. But really, I have to be ‘in the mood’ for a Quizno’s, whereas any time is good for JJ. Oh, and I nearly forgot the décor! JJ is sassy. They’ve got all of those funny, kitschy signs around their stores. On this particular trip to JJ, I ate a #13 with all the freebies. Heavenly. The mall was about to close but they still served me, so thanks for that!

What a ZERO! This was our first and last time here. We ordered two turkey sandwiches for lunch. vWhen picking them up, I asked for some salt and pepper packets. I was told that«the powers that be» won’t allow any salt or pepper to be added either when preparing the sandwiches. I was told to walk over to Checkers and get some there, if I still wanted it. I have a better idea, next time I’m just going to eat at Checkers!
