HISTORICBUFORD I was really excited to find out that there was an artist’s colony in historic Buford. It is a large building that has several intimate spaces for artists to work and showcase their art. The days and hours are limited but we verified that they would be open on Saturday. I love the location of this building as it is located next to a railroad track inside of a beautiful brick building which also houses the Tannery Row restaurant. Today’s visit was a bit lack-luster because most of the artists were absent and we did not have access to view their art close up. Because of the openness of some of the spaces, you could get a glimpse of some of the art that was on display in their rooms but it wasn’t the same. We were able to visit the small art gallery that had some items using mixed mediums openly displayed. Please be advised: This gallery is in a very old building that does not have air conditioning so it was very warm inside. You will want to dress lightly or just wait until fall. I would also suggest you wait until a special event is scheduled so more of the artists are available to discuss their work, inspiration and experiences. Talking to the artist is usually the best part of viewing an exhibit. Perhaps we will try again at a later date.

Awesome art gallery with a unique flair. Multiple artists of all trades(pottery, jewelry, painting, metal work, etc.). The artists are super friendly if present, especially Debra Weiser.
