While I love HEB I’m sick and tired of always having to bag my groceries. I was really hoping with Walmart moving in next to them they’d step their game up.

I started to look at where all the produce is from and am sad to say most of it is from Mexico and Canada plus another few places. The fish department has mostly fish from other countries. I have had a few discussions with the management and it seems this is the way HEB operates lately. It is so close to me but am so disturbed. Looking for other options.

I have tried to be patient with this store as it is the only one within 25 miles. The gloves come off today. I am in there this evening with the other after work crowd. I have a list from the wife for about 12 items. The store is out of stock on about 30% of the items on my list. You can buy their heb brand because that is about the only thing on the shelf. But you can’t buy something like Nature’s Own bread or Yoplait yogurt. Then when you go to check out — about 30 check stands, but they are so cheap that only 4 are open. Close to 10 carts in every lane, so checking out takes for ever. A monopoly tends to not be in the consumer’s favor. We need some competition in this area so that heb will have to give customer service.

I am glad to have a decent sized grocery store nearby that has a good selection of produce, meats, and seafood. They have 2 aisles of more«healthy» choices like bulk nuts, almond butter, raw honey, snacks, drinks, and those type of specialty products, but I wish they would get more options. They need a good area for hot foods on the go as well. Also, the one thing I absolutely can’t stand is how stinking slow the pharmacy drive-thru is! I mean… one person to work the rush hour is just not cool. So, I choose to drive into San Antonio to Whole Foods on Blanco because they have so many more wonderful healthy options. I would love to see this HEB add more items!

I had such high hopes for the newest HEB Plus! located in Bulverde. After all, Bulverde is a growing bedroom community of San Antonio. Oh so disappointing. I know when I saw the parking lot, it was too small for an HEB of this size. It’s nice enough inside and if you want Sushi for dinner, they will hook you up. But where’s the Central Market Café on the Run that is so prevalent at other HEB Plus! locations? Nowhere to be found. But, you can get sushi for dinner. Or maybe a nice rotisserie chicken. Looks like HEB misread the local clientele. Of course they need prepared foods. Most of the patrons work in San Antonio and have to drive through the 281 gridlock to get home. I almost forgot… they don’t have electronic scales in the produce section to weigh and tag your produce. Seems very odd.
