I have been shopping at Active since high school. Three years out of high school and 1 ½ years since my board started collecting dust, I still shop here because of an extremely helpful staff, reasonable prices and the wide variety of clothing wear. First off the staff is incredible. They actually know about the clothing and more importantly the skate section. I remember I got along really well with an employee that whenever I walked in he would say«Valley’s in the house» because both him and I are from the valley. I’m generally surprised he remembered about the conversation and it made me feel really welcomed. The staff seems like they actually enjoy getting to know you. Prices vary. Obviously in Burbank they might rack up the price a couple dollars but so far prices are reasonable. They always tend to have a clearance section with awesome shirts, sweaters, jackets, beanies, hats and shoes for discounted prices. Also, Specials are always around the corner. And if you don’t know about any specials the informative staff always gives you a head up. Great place to shop.(The shirts do tend to shorten after a couple dryers so wash but air dry is all I can say!)

Best service here. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular, but I spotted this Limited Edition hat that has Disney stuff on it. I put it on hold because I needed time to think whether I was really going to do this or not… buy a gift for the person I love… or just forget it… Well today, it was around 8:00 pm and I thought I need to get this gift and come to the store before it closes. It was 8:45PM and I couldn’t find any parking so I called the store and explained the bad parking. They said they would wait for me until 9:10PM, but I got lucky and found parking right in front 10 minutes before they closed. It was just the sign that I needed, so I happily bought the gift for my love. And I am happy that I did because it’s about my relationship and not about me. I hope my friend loves his gift! =) I think it’d be a cool surprise…

Awesome experience at Active. I have been stalking the Raen Optics website ever since I saw a client wearing a pair. I went back and forth on spending that much on shades, since I am notorious for breaking them or losing them pretty quickly. I had just happened to be out on Sunday with some friends and remembered that there was a place that sold them in West Hollywood. Or course by the time I called, they were already closed. I looked at locations in the valley on the way home, and found Active. I walked in and found the case pretty quickly, and a rad dude named Marquis came over and patiently helped me decide on which pair to get. Oh, and it was the last day for BOGO50% the whole store so it quickly turned into which PAIRS to get. They didn’t have the one specific style I wanted but I settled on two, when I realized I left my wallet in my roommates car. They were closing in 15 minutes so I told them I would be back. Working in retail myself, I know just how fucking annoying it is to have people come in 5 minutes before close, so I hustled my ass to the car and back. Came back in as Marquis got my shades together and the store was closing, and he decided to check one last time for the pair I originally came in looking for, and boom, found them. AND, to top it off, he gave me a sweet deal on them in addition to the BOGO on the other two. He easily saved me over $ 150 if I had decided to purchase them online from Raen directly. Thank you so much Marquis, I will only be coming back to Active for Raen from now on!

I like the store, I have three skaters at my house and they always want me to take them to Active. Everyone is very welcoming but make sure what you buy is what you really want. They will not give you your money back even with a receipt just store credit. Before you purchase make sure you like other items that they carry in case you need to return something.

Ira rocks! He truly knows good customer service! We had a skate deck that was defective and cracked after 2 days. Without any problem Ira confirmed the defect in the deck and swapped it out! All the staff were super friendly and welcomed everyone who came.

A few weeks ago my Fiancé and I were out and about on the San Fernando strip celebrating our anniversary. I needed a new pair of sunglasses, since I had misplaced mine and mother nature decided to bring us summer like weather. I has an aversion to shopping at Urban outfitters, which is next door. I had never been inside Active, having left my skating days behind me, I felt there to be no need. That is until the search for new glasses came to fruition. I had briefly glanced into the window while strolling by, back tracked and headed in. We were greeted by two employees right away, both of whom were smiling and eager to help us find what we were looking for. I browsed the merchandise and found quite a few pairs of sunglasses that I liked, yet most pairs were quite large for my apparently tiny face. I did however find a great pair of Ray Ban wayfarers in tortise shell, that I have had my eye on for quite some time. While we waited for the attendant to find the box and case for my glasses, we walked around and I also found a great pair of Toms marked down a considerable amount. The glasses and the Toms came home with me. I am actually wearing the shoes now. I really got a great deal. The Toms I scored have an eighties feel and yet modern at the same time, They are not the traditional toms that most people have seen in such droves in the hipster community. These are ballet style flats, with ample reinforced padding throughout the sole. Let me just say these are the most comfortable shoes I have worn in a long time. Who says you have to sacrifice comfort for style? Definitely not this girl. I will not hesitate to browse through here the next time I find myself in the area and searching for something special. I see this being a major stop during the holiday season. I have a lot of family members that would like a few things I spotted that afternoon.

This is a great local skateboarding store and also has a nice collection of brands like Element, Volcom, Stussy and others of a similar genre. I was looking for a particular color beanie and they had a large selection so I was able to find exactly what I wanted. I’ve found a few really good deals in the ladies section, like my favorite warm Billabong coat. They also carry Toms and Sanuks and a variety of great sunglasses. There is a pair of Ray Bans I’ve been eyeing and also like the Dragon line. I wish I could give them and extra half of a star because I like the music they play. Sometimes the the background music in a store can drive me out before I have a chance to shop. I believe they were playing A Tribe Called Quest on my last visit.

Went in here because I was looking for a winter jacket before I flew out to Chicago. Found one I liked and when I took it to the counter, found out it was like, 40%! Hell yes. The selection isn’t abundant, but they have cute stuff(I like to oogle the Obey clothes). The only thing was it was really dimly lit in this location. Kinda weird.

Cool, Stylish, and Affordable Beach clothing: Skateboarding Tees and Board shorts. This place is da bomb for cool graphic tees and board shorts that cost $ 30 or less. I wish the store were closer to LA. It is located in Burbank next door to Urban Outfitters. Active sells active wear for men and women. There’s everything here for beach bums, surfers, and skateboarders. They support a few local artists that design t-shirts in limited batches just for this store. I have purchased many unique tees here. They carry tons of other more conventional brands like Stussy, Diesel, Danny Boy. The fabric quality and fit may not be the best, but the designs are hip. The service is very laid back. Why doesn’t that surprise me? I don’t imagine you spend much time in Burbank. So the next time you find yourself dragged to the IKEA Burbank, scope out Active for some creative tees and shorts.

Whenever I’m around Burbank, I always have to stop by Active to see if they have any new street heat. Since this place is about the hippest store in old folks town Burbank, because that mall is seriously a joke. This is almost a one stop shop for all you street gear heads, and I remember that they used to carry Diesel, G-Star, SFAM and some other major designer’s as well, but haven’t seen it lately because it must have not sold well. Shoe selection is usually pretty good, and stuff can get really cheap when sale time comes around, so I’d advise you to sign up for that mailing list.

Both female and male selection are great! Staff was friendly. They also have a lot of snow gear/skate gear in the back. Very nice selection of sneakers in the front and I think some on the back. Love this store’s décor as well. Watch out for hypebeasts though. On this particular night, I didn’t see any because it was raining and wet out, so they probably stayed home to keep their sneakers looking clean.
