What a pleasant change from other Armenian bakeries in the area. Absolutely my favorite place for cakes, pastries, breads and even deli sandwiches. Prices are fair, everything tastes fantastic and all the employees I’ve encountered have been friendly and helpful(unlike some other bakeries in Glendale.) Huge parking lot in the back and always plenty of street parking too. Will come back time and time again.

I recently went through a total hip replacement(lots of fun, if you’re into recreational surgery, you’ll love this). I have Veterans Administration healthcare. I’ve had dealings with several departments, one of which was the folks who pay for ambulance rides and civilian medical care when there’s an emergency(that happened twice). And the other is the Orthopedic Clinic at the VA West Los Angeles Medical Center. Those folks at the billing place saved me thousands of dollars in ambulance and ER bills(have you priced ambulance rides lately?). Being in billing, I’m sure they get lots of upset patients, vile accusations and worse. A really nice gift basket was in order. Just by chance, I wandered into Alta Dena Bakery Deli and Coffee. They had wonderful gift baskets on display for $ 25 each. That’s a lot less than equivalent baskets I priced online. So I ordered a big one — twice the size of those on display — for $ 50. Those folks at VA billing nearly fell over when I set that big thing on their counter and announced: «THIS…is for you.» I included a thank-you card explaining that I appreciated their work, saving me lots of money, etc. They loved it! At the time of this writing, I’m almost 13 weeks post-op. I’m off crutches, off the cane, out of the cumbersome hip brace and back in the gym five days a week. This picture is the second gift basket, which I picked up today. The fellow in the picture is Art, the café owner. Tomorrow morning is my next post-op Orthopedic Clinic visit. I will lug this to the hospital and set it on the table where the security dudes are at the main entrance. Then I will say: «Would you like to check this for explosives?» Then I will get in the elevator, press the«G» button for«Ground Floor,» which is actually underground… the basement… and deliver it to the Ortho Clinic. They have done magnificent work getting me repaired. And if anyone reading this can explain why the VA considers 20 feet below ground to be at ground level, please tell me.

Was there for breakfast. The place, even though it’s big, it is quite hidden. There is plenty of parking and it doesn’t get very busy. Their coffee is delicious and so are their organic teas(mighty leaf). Their lahmajoon is fresh out of the oven. However their pastries are a little on the stale side, including their borek(hence the one star knocked off). I feel like they shouldn’t bake so many different pastries, they should just stick to baking 3 – 4 types of pastries, FRESH, just like their lahmajoon and they would get alot more customers. If only their borek was as fresh as their lahmajoon I’d go there every single day to grab some with a coffee or tea. They have plenty of indoor sesting snd a few outdoor. They have a good selection of your basic groceries, such as milk, etc… good quality juices. The customer service is excellent, the owner is very friendly, that alone makes you want to come back. Also, they don’t have creamer for your coffe :-(so bring your own creamer!

Loved my twin daughters’ birthday cake!(sofia princess theme). I was looking for a bakery in Burbank and found it here on Unilocal.I drive by here several times a week and I took the chance and ordered their birthday cake. It looked clean and the pastry chef was very friendly. I showed him a couple of pictures and he created a beautiful cake! Everyone at the party loved it! It was so beautiful, and best of all it was delicious!

Just driving down Glendale Blvd and in the mood for a deli sandwich. Stopped in and were very pleased. When we left, after an hour visit, the owner came out with a slice of cake. Real good cake too. Four states from me.

This is an awesome bakery. The desserts are simply amazing. I’ve tasted several kinds and they were all heavenly delicious. I had their pastry with cheese called khachapouri and it was great. I haven’t tried their entrees yet but as I hear from other people they are yummy. Also, my father regularly goes to this bakery for coffee and he prefers it to Starbucks. I am looking forward to visiting this place for lunch very soon. Maybe I’ll start going to Starbucks less as well.

I always associated Altadena with dairy products, but this store lacks basic items you’d expect to see there. It appears to be more of a bakery catering to the mid-eastern clientele. Ive had a couple of pastrys and they were good, but I was also surprised they didnt have much selection of milk and once I went to get hotdog buns to avoid 7 – 11, but the girl had no idea what I was asking for, lol. Seems like a nice place, just don’t expect your normal Altadena products to be there.

I was exploring the area and came upon this place randomly. My veggie sandwich was really good and the display case of pastries looked amazing too. If I’m ever in the area again I would come back for a pastry and coffee :)

Glad I found this on Unilocal as it is near my place. Nice and clean. Bought some mini eclairs and a box of their pastry samplers. They taste really good and are made fresh daily. Customer service is 5 stars.

I dunno what I was expecting really. Small quaint middle eastern café. Not much to select from aside from a few pastries and beverages. Random fridge items as well. Just a place to grab a quick snack really. They have cakes though so if you’re looking to get a large cake you can grab one here. I got these two pastries I have no idea what they are but both were very good. One with almonds one without. Soft and flaky and surgery.

Awesome place that just opened up in the neighborhood. Pleasantly surprised by the genuinely friendly customer service. Usually leave these Armenian bakerys feeling like I just came out of a battle, whether by rude employees or the ee/customer ratio. We got two xhachapouries and a large honey cake. Both were decently priced and delicious. Watch out Paradise and Movses, there’s a new sheriff in town.

New bakery opened up and was surprised as how big it was! I was looking for a cake for my sister’s birthday and was surprised to see quiet a selection in the display. The icing décor was very pretty in the display cakes, but when I asked for them to write Happy Birthday on the one I bought, the writing looked horrible, I could’ve done a better job. I got the Chocolate mocha cake and it was a hit with everyone, people came back for seconds! It was light and the flavor was great. They also have coffee and different types of drinks. I also saw a sandwich menu on the side too. Overall, the taste of the cake was good, but I expected better with their writing because wasn’t that great and didn’t look professional at all compared to their nice designs in their display.

This bakery looks just like one of the gazillion bakeries in the area, but I am glad I stopped by. This place spreads out long and narrow with some seating area. I didn’t see any sandwich menu, but I did see a lot of lovely inexpensive($ 1-$ 3) cakes/pastries/cookies. I got a spinach and feta cheese spanakopita(I think), tres leches cake(recommended by the sweet lady working behind the counter), and a mini éclair(filled with caramel cream). The total was $ 4 even. Ridiculous, I know. I quickly drove home and finished the spanakopita. The pie crust was deliciously flaky and perfect with a bit salty spinach and feta cheese filling. It was not too big or small; it was perfectly sized for a snack or light lunch. The choux dough of the éclair was a bit too tough and thick, but the caramel cream was light, airy, and not overly sweet. I was surprised how good the tres leches cake was. It was very moist, creamy, and again not overly sweet. I could probably eat a sheet of their tres leches cake, but that probably would not be a good idea… I am excited to have a gem like this in my neighbourhood. I will definitely go back for more delicious baked goods!

This café is so delicious! When I’m in the burbank area I always stop by and grab some fresh sandwiches(which are so good), some bread, and I order my cakes from here too. The owner and the staff are very friendly and give fast service. Really good bakery, I’m glad to see their business is growing.

Nice and clean spot to grab some goodies. I strolled in about opening time and bought coffee and a mini éclair. The coffee was good and tasty. I think I was the first customer to get a cup after it brewed so it was hot and fresh. It’s not strong like Starbucks but tasted more like Coffee Bean. It was a good brand but sorry guys, I forgot the name :(. The éclair was filled with white cream and was a lighter alternative to custard. The girl working the counter was very nice and professional. They also make custom cakes for weddings, parties, bdays, and other special events. The cakes they had on display were amazing(see pics). Now, here’s the deal for you hardcore customers. They have kabobs on the other side, yes I said kabobs! The prices was the same as the kabob combos in other restaurants in the area so it sounds good for my next trip there. They also have a deli there so you can order cold cut sandwiches too. They do have street parking but peeping through the back door, there is a little lot back there that brings you right in the middle of the store. I really liked it and it will be one of regular stops when I’m in the area.

My wife and I went to this place for the first time about one week ago We were excited to go because we had been walking past this place for weeks as they prepared it. We came to get some milk so we went directly to the refrigerator. Since we’re health conscious we were reading the fat % on the label. This is when we started to feel uncomfortable. The deli cook was staring at us from behind his counter. Then when we moved out of his sight he decided to come outside of his area and stand right next to us with his arms crossed looking directly at us acting like we were about to steal something. Later he tried to pretend that he was looking at the items himself but then he would never leave. This all happened in a matter of less than five minutes. So it’s not like we were there for a long time. We were considering not even buying the item that we found because he made us feel so uncomfortable but we did anyway. As we left the store we decided we were not going to come back. Note to owners: If you’re worried about people stealing things then get some metal detectors or security cameras and stop stocking the customers like you’re the FBI. Nobody likes to shop in a place where they feel pressured.
