I brought in an old Dobbs for a clean, brush and block they turned it around in just a few short day. I returned with a custom old dirty Mellon and I didn’t have to say much of anything. She knew exactly what it needed and there was no problem what so ever. I’ve only been in twice but I have a good feeling about this place!

So, I was looking for a local place to find a cowboy hat and this place come up on Unilocal.I called roughly around 3:50 pm. Just to make sure I could still stop by and kindly they informed they would wait for me which was amazing.
As soon as I stepped into the store I absolutely loved it they have a ton of hats and are all man made and made at the shop. It’s truly something amazing.
The hats are definitely a reasonable price and the quality of the hats are amazing.
& Most importantly I found a cowboy hat!

I got a beloved hat re-​blocked there. They were able to rush the order since I would be leaving town soon. Also, Patti was very friendly and knowledgeable! I plan on coming back as soon as I have the cash to get a quality hat for my love.

Had a great time picking out my new ribbon for my Borsalino today. The girl who helped was patient, helpful and funny to work with. Overall a great first experience. Would come back for future hats.

I went in to get my Dobbs hat reshaped. I wanted it reshaped similar to my stetson. i don’t like a narrow pinch and so i brought my stetson in as an example for them to go by. The cost was reasonable, and when i picked it up, my dobbs was shaped just like my stetson. i was very impressed and will continue going to this place when i need work on my hats.

It’s Christmas Eve, and I still had some last minute shopping to do. I got back from shopping only to find my dog had chewed up my dads ultimate favorite hat in the world. In a panic, I drove to the original store to find another but to no avail, there were no longer anymore in stock. Stressed out and panicked my dad was going to freak out, I realized Baron Hats was down the street! I called hoping they would be open on Christmas Eve and luckily someone answered and they said they were technically closed but would stay open just for me. I drove over desperate to find another hat like my dads. I get there and I am greeted by a very friendly and gracious family. They are ready to help me while I go back and forth between making a decision. I couldn’t decide between repairing my dads hat or buying a new one. They were soooo patient and helpful. I asked them a million questions and not once did they seem bothered. I honestly don’t think I have ever received great service like I did that day with Sonia and the rest of the employees. Not only were they super helpful, friendly and accommodating, but reasonably priced. They stitched my dads hat for I think $ 10 or so. I still need to take it back in for repairs and purchase another hat, but I could not emphasize enough what great service I received that day with Sonia and the rest of the team. I will definitely be back and recommend them to everyone I know! Thanks, Baron Hats!

Mark was extremely helpful. My brother in law brought me here to buy me my 40^th birthday hat and Mark ensured that I could get one in the right size and color. We are very excited that I will wear a hat from the same source as Django Unchained, Indiana Jones Empire of Doom, and The Mask. This haberdashery has the exact pedigree and personal touch we’ve been looking for. I expect we’ve found our permanent LA hat shop.

What a Bad Ass place! This is becoming a lost Art. I walked in today looking for a black fedora. What I walked out was far more than what I expected! Mark and the staff are genuinely passionate about Hats. I was having a bit of an issue finding the perfect hat because I wear em low, like my cars. But with just a few words to Mark, he was able to custom make, on the spot, by hand, a Bad Ass Navy Fedora… I tried on this Navy Hat that looked more like a Sombrero, Mark said; don’t worry Vato Ima make that hat look like this, holding another hat in his hand which fit good but wasn’t the color I wanted. I was like, Serious? Mark said I’ll do it right now for you. I was blown away! I gotta mention that when I called the shop, the lady that answered that phone said that they closed at 2pm today but that they still had a few customers and would stay open for a bit longer. Now, That’s dedication. Long story short, this place and the people in it are truly genuine.

My girlfriend has loved her grandfather’s fedora since she inherited it years ago. But … it needed some love: it was dirty, had sweat stains, and the shape was getting distorted. Enter Baron Hats, who for $ 45 did a total refresh on it — cleaned it and reblocked it (even though it had been machine pressed, not blocked, when first made), and now it looks amazing again.
But the best part of the story is picking the hat up. I live about an hour away from the store, and happened to be swinging by their area on a holiday. Their Twitter feed said they’d be closed, but I called them on a whim, and it turns out one of their staff was there. He was super nice, and said «Sure, come on by; I’ll be here!»
So, not only do they do great hat work, but they bend over backward to help you get your hat when it’s most convenient for you.

I had a bit of a Hat emergency I had never been in this shop before these people didn’t know me from Adam and these guys jumped on it like it was there number one priority, these people were so fantastic, they repaired my hat and did a wonderful job !!! then they went completely out of their way on a Sunday and came and opened up the store when they were closed for me to pick it up AND DID NOT CHARGE ME FOR THE REPAIR!!! I was blown away !!! I’m amazed at there customer service, they have me as a customer for life!

I’ve passed this place a lot and finally decided to stop and check it out. I was pleasantly surprised with their selection and ever more pleased with their service. The woman that works there is extremely helpful. We’ll definitely be coming back

Came to Baron Hats over the weekend to redeem some credit my brother had from a custom hat that didn’t turn out exactly how he wanted, so a credit was issued. We lost the voucher for a while due to relocating several times, but came in immediately after we had finally found it. Mark was very understanding of the situation and honored the credit issued. For the credit, I found myself a few new hats… a couple large sun hats and a freshly made Fedora, I can’t wait to wear them. The staff were very friendly, patient and helpful. All in all, thank you Mark and Baron Hats for superior service and pride in your product. I highly recommend anyone looking for custom hats to visit Baron Hats, they are extremely friendly and professional.

The shop is filled with a variety of hats and just walking in the door is really a fun experience because there is so much to look at. I am such an indecisive shopper and needed help picking my hat out. Patti at the front counter was prepared for me to take my time and pick the perfect hat for my outfit and my style and she was quick to think of great ways to jazz up my hat for different occasions. I met Mark the owner too and he noticed that the hat I chose to wear/​buy could use a treatment to make it more stiff around the edges which was really the cherry on top of my visit to Baron Hats. Both Mark and Patti are so friendly I had a lot of fun watching them interact with repeat customers coming to pick up their super cool hats. One last thing, there is a really cool TV set up of different TV NEWS interviews that playback on a flat screen TV on a loop which is really informational and fun to watch. I really appreciated the extra effort that went into that as a cinema professional.

Hat repair at a reasonable price. We went in today to get 3 hats repaired. The shop was surprisingly busy, but everyone there did their utmost to care for all customers in a warm, yet professional manner. It is obvious that the people at Barons really know hats! Hats ranged in price from inexpensive ($ 45 for men) to pricey. I ended up with a cute women’s straw cloche for $ 30! Can’t beat that.

I love this shop and they’re Hollywood Hat museum is truly amazing. Seeing all the hats they’ve done for celebrities left me truly star struck. I went looking for a hat for my boyfriend’s birthday and frankly don’t know much about hats. I was waited on by a nice woman named Lupe who really made me feel comfortable in my search. I picked out a fedora and my boyfriend loved it. He needed it resized a little and when he went back to the hat shop, we was waited on personally by the hat shop owner, Mark, who resized that hat free of charge. My boyfriend thought Mark was nice and down-​to-​earth for a guy who is truly the «Hat Maker to the Stars». Thanks Baron Hat for making everything so wonderful.

Brilliant spot. I got a handmade short-​brimmed rabbit fur fedora for $ 100 and almost bought another slightly damaged one for $ 60. I’ve recently started wearing more classic-​styled hats and let me tell you, the prices here for hats made out of real fur are better than the prices I’ve seen at Barney’s for wool hats. Lupe and Sonia provided awesome patient service too. Will be back.

I was a bit hesitant to come here because of the poor review I read. I have a 25 year old straw boater that I had worn a few times. But, I wanted the navy/​red striped ribbon replaced with something which doesn’t resemble a hat worn by a Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlor waiter. Also, I suppose my head has gotten bigger in those 25 years so I needed the inner hat band loosened up a bit. They told me they could do both. It was relatively inexpensive ($ 40 total) and would be done in 5 days. Wow, fast and cheap.
I was very pleased with the job they did. I highly recommend them for any hat repair you may need.

I find so many people these days whose lives are shaped and defined by mass culture. Aside from a simply mahvelous hat store dahling, the place is a museum of movie, and other hat history. If you like the movies and the hats defining beloved movie characters, Baron hats is a fun place to visit.
Deeply knowledgeable Lupe helped us find our way through the mountains of hats and myriad bands allowing each customer to define themselves uniquely through head gear.
If you reflect on it, hats are some of the most practical items humankind ever devised. You think about. I think everyone living where the sun shines hot and winter chills the bones needs a minimum of three hats. Ballcap, felt and straw. The practicality, style and customization are up to the individual.
We found a nice Panama, years of future use ahead, lighweight, airy, sun reflecting, eye-​protecting, with a stylish band. The price was in the normal range for a city-​bought Panama.
