Food is above average, but nothing to brag about. Service was above average and the margaritas are great!

The service is really great! The chips are amazing. The other food on the menu is LACKING. There’s no flavor, it’s highly processed and nothing authentic. But again the service is great!!! Just wished they improved their menu
Update– 20 mins after dining there tonight I got sick. Three hours later and still having stomach issues. My friend who joined me for dinner is having the same stomach issue. Not right

The best part about this place is their Wednesday $ 2.50 Margarita’s! Great deal! Happy Hour Nacho’s and Keno in the bar. Their meals are a little pricey for so-​so food. We’ve quit coming for the food but keep coming for the margarita’s!

This place is trash. Food is bland and the service is bad. Soggy salad and girlfriends enchiladas had chicken bones in them. Maybe we came on a bad night but I will never be coming back. You’ve been warned.

All the waiters are great.
But, «Freddy» is the Best.
Their spicy sauce is very tasty as is all their dishes.

Worst service… waiter took my drink for refill never brought back. Waited 25 min for check. Received check wasn’t even our tables, swiped my card for other tables bill. Asked for a manager waited 15 min. Carmen came out apologized took another 10 min bringing me my correct receipt. She didn’t care how we were treated. Worst service ever. Will never be back.

One of the other excellent waiters is: Carlos & he’s Hansom ! Two taco plate, with rice & beans plus a salad– round off to $ 13.00. Abondigas soup with rice, beans & choice of: flour or corn tortillas– round off to $ 13.00. Margaritas will get you high as a kite ! Chips made with veggie oil, not lard ! Complaints I’ve read, about not receiving something wanted, just ask again; it gets busy on Mondays = $ 2.00 tacos & Wednesday = $ 3.00 margaritas. Enjoy !

Poor excuse for Mexican food! Tortillas are cold the «fish» was greasey and flavorless mush. Salsas are bland.

I had the hardshell, chicken tacos and for dessert deep fried ice cream! (Delightful):) coming back for sure!

Came here on a cold & windy Monday night because I was on a mission for some albondigas. I had read ahead on Unilocal that Monday nights tend to be crowded as they have $ 1 taco Mondays. Sure enough when we got in the door a little before 730pm, it was wall to wall in the front room for people waiting to be seated. Our party of 2 had an estimated wait time 20 – 30 mins. It was also the last Monday night football of the season so I’m sure that added to the crowd. Thankfully we were seated within 10 – 15 mins of waiting.
I ordered a bowl of albondigas soup and 2 ground beef tacos. The soup is supposed to come with bean & rice (which it did) and tortillas (which never arrived even though we were told it would). It wasnt a big deal as there was a lot of food for me as it was. I chalk it up to how busy they were that night. It really seemed like all of Burbank, you and old, were there for $ 1 taco Mondays. Our waitress was super cool. I never got her name but she was great and so were all the servers we encountered.
The albondigas hit the spot. It was a big bowl. It had great flavor and a lot of vegetables and meatballs. The meatballs were tasty and a good size. I also really liked the $ 1 tacos. It was really good and a steal for the price. The ground beef was mixed with strips of potatoes. I will definitely be back for more of that on future Mondays.

After coming to this place literally hundreds of times, I have decided not to come back.
We were served our soups with dirty spoons. At first, we didn’t say anything because it was easily fixed.
But after taking my first spoonful of soup, we found a curly thick possibly beard or pubic hair.
I am still in shock.
Disgusted.

I love this place! With my current situation with my teeth I can only eat very soft foods, and the #7 Fiesta Combination does the trick! A Cheese Enchilada Verde, and rice and beans. Of course comes with soup or salad which I usually pass on.
The people there, including the lady who I think is the owner are used to seeing me a few times a week. I get the «Oh. we recognized your order» when I get there. I put in the notes the same thing every time. «Please no soup or salad, and no guacamole on the enchilada or in the order. You can also make the fried ice cream right away being I’m only a few minutes away» I do that with the ice cream because they usually make it once you arrive, so it doesn’t melt down before you get there. But I like «melty» ice cream so it’s perfect when I get it home. I always order take out and usually I walk in and the girl says Hi! And greets me by name and my order is ready. It’s always great!
I’ve had other dishes there but since my teeth are super sensitive right now I can’t partake in other things they offer, but I sure wish I could! I’d practically give my arm for a couple of their tacos, they rock!
All in all I love this place. Neat decorations, T.V.‘s usually showing some kind of sports in the bar, and everybody has been super nice and I’ve never had an issue at all.
Great place, you are you in the area, try it out. You won’t regret it!

First time coming here, I must say they were better than expected. They have two dining area, one with a bright room and a dark room with a bar, sat on the bright side area. customer service was quick and efficient. food was good. I got the enchilada de mole with chicken, wasn’t a big fan of the rice thought. They have complimentary chips and salas, salas was good! Needs a little more spicy kick tho. Id recommend this place. Pretty good!

Their food sucks the only thing I will have there are the margaritas. I wouldn’t rate it at all.

I came here yesterday for the first time the albondiga soup was good and the menudo was delish! I didn’t realize that they didn’t have a lot of waiters! Are waiter was a bit slow he brought us coffee which we didn’t order at all! and we ask him for a Togo box took him about 20 min. To bring us one. And we never saw him or he never asked us if we need anything! Which we did need lemons and more water well by all means bad service so I won’t b comin back and the hostess doesn’t smile she looked grumpy and tired so short young Hispanic girl! She might not like her job! Lol

Service was great! And the food was delicious. The Menudo was good and hot! The breakfast burrito was made to order and it was yummy! The huevos rancheros were delicious too! The atmosphere was perfect… Sunday morning football was on TV. We’ll definitely be back!

I was at barragans restaurant in Burbank ca. Sunday morning, I asked for a side if sour cream to go with my beef fajitas omelet. The waiter brought the omelet and tortillas, buy never brought the side of sour cream that I had ordered. And no one ever showed up or went by, so I could tell them about the missing sour cream.
This shows a lack of concern of the staff that are employed at Barragans.
You know that in the restaurant business you can get by on so so food, but you won’t Survive in this business on poor customer service.
It will be a long time before I go back to this restaurant and then will only be to check if their service has improved.
Dissatisfied.

I used to work in Burbank for many years so I heard about Barragan’s Mexican Restaurant. Today we were in the area running an errand so we decided to give a try.
Every good Mexican Restaurant has to have a yummy good salsa. Well this place fails short big time in this department. It was a watered down tomato mess broth with green onions. I was like WTH?!! I really tried to overlook this but still if the salsa & chips, the first item that represents the food is a bust it is so hard to move past it.
We decided to order and share the shrimp fajitas, it came with a choice of soup (the waiter said the soup of the day was Lentil ok… it is a Mexican Restaurant WTF?!) and it came with rice & refried beans. It was ‘eh and def not great and the shrimp had some bits of crunch to it as if the shells were still a part of the meal. Ugh!
Don’t ask about the décor and ambiance of this place… the place looked dingy and old in which the carpets looked filthy. Our waiter was mediocre at best. Who asks if I am done with the chips when taking away all the finished items that were kindly gathered for him to take? Of course I was done with that and thanks for asking or did you think I was being a hungry pig? Learn some etiquette and appreciate the plates, chips, awful salsa, empty beers were piled together in a neat place to the side meaning… for you to take.
Barragan’s get two stars from me due to our food & drinks coming out quickly, other than that I definitely will not be back to this dump! We have way more tasty good Mexican Restaurants near us. At least we tried something new. Sometimes its a hit or miss… Barragan’s is a big miss.

this place has the worst customer service i have ever seen in my life.
i guess because i’m a black man i don’t get to receive interaction from the waiter, like he so effortlessly displayed with other patrons. i will never go back to this location in burbank. horrible horrible horrible service if you are a black person.

This place is a pretty standard Mexican restaurant. I ordered the mole enchiladas which were good. Kind of overpriced for the quality but a nice place to come for a good bite to eat.
Why you gotta be so expensive doh.
