Burbank Furniture Restoration

While visiting my Mom, I noticed the Danish Modern teak armchair she’d bought new more than 50 years ago was about to split apart. A bolt that held the seat to the back had broken, and the chair was pulling apart at the other joints. I found Burbank Furniture Restoration through Unilocal,and contacted Ric. Within a few hours I had sent him photos of the chair, he had sent back a very reasonable quote, and my sister and I were trying to get it into the car to bring to him. At this point we discovered the chair was larger than it looked, and there was no way at all to get it into the car.
No problem: Ric came in a van the same day and picked up the chair. A couple days later – four days before the promised delivery date – he brought the chair back, repaired so expertly that it’s impossible to see that it had ever needed repair, and ready for another 50 years of use. While still honoring the estimated price, Ric considered my Mom’s age and frail condition and expedited the work for us.
We’re grateful for his work and grateful to have found him.

I had what I thought should be a simple job, two rattan /​bamboo chairs that needed to have the legs cut down. Every place I called turned it into a huge deal and wanted to over complicate things. Two emails with Ric and we were off and running. Two days later (maybe 1 day) and the job was done perfectly, the price was more than fair and the conversation and company was worth the price alone.
Really can’t compliment him enough and recommend anyone with some fixes, repairs or refurbish needs to give him a call. You really won’t be disappointed.

He fixed a chair that i did not think could even be fixed. He also fixed a broken antique phone that I had. I recommend this guy. He does amazing work. His resume speaks for itself. Works on parade floats, what more could you ask for?

We had a one of a kind, hand carved headboard damaged by our movers. The headboard fell face first to the floor causing a huge piece directly in the center of the carving to crack and get pushed out. Worst spot possible. Replacement of the piece is not possible.
Ric’s repair was sublime.
He was professional, courteous and straightforward.
His pricing was very fair and we recommend him highly to anyone requiring this type of repair work.

I had a new walnut dining chair that fell from the top of my dining table when the floor was being cleaned. Result — one broken leg — broken at an angle in the middle. I saved all of the parts from the break.
Ric did a great job of repairing the leg, including a wooden dowel/​pin for strength. The repair is almost invisible which is tough to do because the chair is natural — no finish at all.
I just picked up the chair after only two business days on Christmas week! Great service. Thanks Ric.

I had an old leather chair that had one of the legs pretty much ripped out of the wood, taking the fastening along with it. I was searching Unilocal for furniture repair in Burbank, and it seemed like Ric had the best reviews. Now I know why. I gave him a call and he told me to come on over to his house, where he works out of his own studio in the back. He was incredibly friendly and I told showed him the damage to the chair. He knew exactly how to fix it and told me no problem, he will have it done in a couple of days. When I left, I saw a couch about two blocks away from his place that was free out on the curb in good condition. I didn’t have a truck and I didn’t want anyone else to take it. So I called Ric up in the chance that he could help me. Not only did he come right away, he gave me two dollys to use and he helped me get the couch to his house. Since I didn’t have a truck that day, he said I could keep the couch at his place until I did! I got a call later that evening saying that he already finished it! So the next day I got hold of a truck and went over to his place to pick up both the chair and truck, which were both sitting right there in his driveway alongside him ready to load. Of course being the ass I am, I didn’t bring anything to fasten the couch to the truck. Ric told me merry Christmas and gave me a bunch of rope and helped me tie it to the truck and sent me on my way. I don’t think I have ever had this kind of service before. Not only that but he is very reasonably priced, especially for how efficient and skilled his work is. WOW. Cannot say more about Ric and Burbank Furniture Restoration. Ric does amazing work!!! He restored an antique chair that was completely falling apart. He worked his magic on it — took the chair completely apart, fixed every piece to perfection and put the chair back together, so now I have a beautiful and functional piece of furniture. Ric’s work is meticulous and the attention to detail is amazing — it hard to find such craftsmanship in this day and age. He’s the best!

Recently had 3 pieces of furniture refinished and painted by Ric and his talented team — very happy with results and the friendly manner in which I was treated. Of importance to me was that they picked up and delivered the furniture upon completion of the work. Would not hesitate to call Ric for future work and recommend him with solid confidence.

Words don’t fully express what feel about Ric’s work; after a while, they all start to sound alike: good, great, best, etc. It’s almost like you have to experience doing business with Ric to see (and feel), first-​hand, the kind of work that he does as an artist and master craftsman.
Ric took a vintage chair from my childhood, which my mom bought at a 2^nd-​hand shop, that call my «enchanted» chair because looks like something you’d see in Disneyland’s Fantasyland, and he made it like new! He somehow even found the same (or what appears to be the same) unusual, green-​color leather for the seat, and more; could rattle on for hours about this subject.
In short, Master Ric — as have come to call him — cares and obviously puts his heart/​soul into everything he does; feel lucky to have found him and his Burbank Furniture Restoration (and Care Services). Should you choose to meet/​do business with him, will dare to say that you likely will come to feel the same way, too.

Ric repaired an antique rocker where one of the arms was loose and a wooden deck chair which was cracked at the joint between the seat and the back. He did an excellent job at a fair price and completed the job in only a few days. I have had other take 2 – 3 weeks to make the same type of repairs. I would highly recommend Ric to anyone looking to repair and/​or restore any type of furniture.

I’ve used Ric over the past few years to restore furniture for me. He’s professional, caring, detailed, and a true craftsman. The results have always exceeded my expectations.
A cedar chest I inherited from my father was ruined. The top of the chest was corroded with cat vomit that had allowed to sit for years. When Ric was finished, it was better than new. I don’t think it looked that good when my mother purchased it. He has reconstructed several items to perfection. For example, one chair was missing a leg.
