Waited six months for my annual physical. Finally I arrive to my appointment, only to wait 30 minutes to find out that Dr Szeto was too busy to see me. In my opinion, not worth the wait. I won’t be going back

As a former nurse, I know up a lot about what to expect from a doctor. Dr. Szeto is completely amazing, she fits every criteria I have for an amazing physician. Her staff is knowledgeable, and if you plan ahead you can easily get an appointment. She is been my doctor for many years, she gives me very sound, straightforward health advice. She is the ONLY doctor that I recommend to my friends and family!

Dr. Szeto actually deserves 10 stars… but like the reason I couldn’t give 5 stars is because for annual «check ups» it can take anywhere from 1 month to 3 months to get in to see her. I GET IT. She’s an amazing doctor. But I don’t want to wait 3 months for a physical. To be fair, you can usually get a «sick» appointment RIGHT AWAY.
I highly recommend Dr. Szeto.

I have been coming to Dr. Szeto for 10 years. She has taken care of me and my 3 daughters and I could not ask for a better Doctor. She has ALWAYS been there for us and so has her nurse Kerry. They are a fantastic team. You could not get better care then Dr. Szeto. She spends time talking to you, and truly cares about you. She is TRULY the best doctor I have ever been to. I only took off one star because I detest one receptionist in her office. Not Adelaide. She is a sweetheart.

I am a fan of Dr. Szeto. Everytime I have seen her she is helpful and takes the time for a proper diagnoses. The problem I have is the staff that makes the appointments and take phone calls are always very rude and abrupt. It is too bad that the whole experience is ruined by Dr. Szetos unprofessional staff

They lost my annual apptmt date for my physical so now scheduled 6 weeks away — that woman Adelaide gives unwarranted medical advice — have always had the mammo first so we could discuss but she confused me bigtime suggesting I should wait and see if the doctor found changes because I need a colonoscopy this year but then said she had given me choices — not happy right now — time for a new dr maybe ???

Dr. Szeto is great and extremely knowledgable — but the receptionist really is a pill. Very condescending and hard to work with. Not sure if it’s worth it to keep coming here but always such a pain to try and find another doctor.

I wouldn’t know if Dr. Szeto was a good doctor or not asI never got to see her. I called her office in August to make an appointment as she was recommended by several doctors. I was told that the first available appointment was for today, ¹¹⁄₁₀ and I took that. I called to confirm last week and I arrived a few minutes early today and waited for 45 minutes. I was told I would still have to wait. If this is how she treats her new patients, I am at a loss for how she would treat me if I were patient. Would not go to a doctor who made me wait 45 minutes when I had an appointment scheduled for over 3 months.

Probably, like, never because who really is feeling good after getting poked, prodded, (weighed), and touched by the coldest instrument known to mankind: the stethoscope?
Lo and behold, I have discovered the magical lair of Dr. Christine Szeto. Nestled within the concrete jungle across from St. Joes, Dr. Szeto’s office is the kind of place that inspires reviews, even after being forced to see exactly where those Krispy Kreme adventures landed you on the Richter scale. That’s an earthquake reference So Cal peeps. You’re welcome.
From the moment you enter this 90’s inspired waiting area (that can be a good thing), you are greeted by people who feel emotionally invested in your health. EVERYONE is smiling, but not in a creepy way. More in a ‘I want to make a difference in the world’ kind of way.
Then SHE comes in. The legend that is Dr. Christine Szeto. Small enough to fit in your pocket, you’ll most definitely fantasize about folding her up and taking her home with you. She will sit and talk to you about your health, your history, your future needs. She will not rush, talk down to you, or dismiss your concerns. She will care, ask questions, come up with a plan. She will make you feel justified when you ask about making sure the plan is something your insurance will cover. She will email the front desk right then and there to make sure they know that too. She will be the best thing Obamacare brings to your life, since she accepts Covered California plans.
I have never felt so inspired to stay on top of my health, and that is directly correlated to my experience with Dr. Szeto. It’s nice to have found a doctor whom I feel such a mutual respect and care for.
Now about that stethoscope…

I have been going to Dr. Szeto for about 2 years now, and she is beyond amazing! She takes her time and explains everything and makes sure you understand. She is very caring and cares for her patients. I recommend all my friend and family to her.

I’m very skeptical when it comes to doctors, so when my insurance changed a few years ago I was really stressed about finding a new doctor. I am so happy that my coworker recommended Dr Szeto to me. She is very personable and honest. If you need to eat less sugar or take care of your asthma a little better, she will let you know. I’ve been with Dr Szeto for about 3 years now and I do not plan on changing any time soon. I also think her nurse deserves about 20 stars (sorry I forgot her name), as she is the only person who can take my blood without me feeling like I’m gonna pass out. Very friendly staff, and even the patients in the waiting room are friendly!

I came here today as a first time patient… I moved from the east coast to LA and asked around and heard great things about Dr. Szeto. I headed over to Burbank from Studio City on my lunch break, and was in and out within 45 minutes. Not much of wait and very friendly receptionists, nurses and the Doctor herself was fantastic. She didn’t rush me, asked questions about me and my life and even joked around (which I’m always a fan of). I am definitely a fan of this doctor and would highly recommend her as a primary.

I loved this doctor, had them for years. But each time I go in for my annual physical, despite being covered 100% by my very big and large insurance company, paying for my office visit co-​pay, I end up getting billed by their blood labs who are out-​of-​network? When I dispute it, I get the run around. Two years in a row now. So, I’m done with them.

Been going to her for about 2 years she is absolutely amazing! she takes her time with her patients, and cares for the health. I would recommend her to my family and friends.

I Love Dr. Szeto and Dr. Cherns office. they are very nice to my son and my family. We have been going to them since My 3 yr old was born. Dr. Szeto was the one who examined him when he was first born and I loved the way she cared for him. She was very detailed and professional.
Everytime I have had a concern with my son, I have contacted her, via email, or just called the office and she responded to my concerns or asked me to schedule an appt if necessary.
Dr. Chern saw us once and she is also very nice, and detailed about our concerns.
Sometimes it has been difficult to get an appt but if they know its urgent they do squeeze you in.
The assistant too who has given my son his shots has always been very nice and friendly. The receptionist as well.
I cant really say otherwise with them.
so all in all. I like them very much.

Horrible. Tried to get an appointment and the receptionist was so rude. Like I was inconveniencing her by calling. And she was doing me a favor even looking up an appointment for me. She reminded me of that David Spade receptionist Character from SNL. «And you are?» «And I should know you because?» She did me a favor because I told her I would never see a doctor who would allow such a rude receptionist to represent her. Then I looked at these reviews and knew I made the right decision.

I have been seeing Dr. Szeto since 1998 as my GP. I have followed her from practice to practice. What I liked about her initially is that she listened, doesn’t hand out RX’s withough just reason, is kind, and did not over treat or order unnecessary tests. She was accessible and real. I was very healthy through my 20’s and early 30’s so I didn’t need someone to be one step ahead of me.
Skip ahead a decade or so… to the bad!
For two years (as I gained weight and continued to be more and more tired) I struggled with her to help me figure out what was wrong. All along I thought it was my thryoid, but she didn’t think that made sense. I trusted my instinct finally and made an appt with an endo. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I still continued to see her after that a couple of times. One year after having my thryoid removed I felt pain in my ovary. I went to her. She said — «oh it’s probably nothing», follow it for a little while. I asked to have the CA 125 cancer screen blood test and she told me I was being overly concerned and denied me. I went to my OB and he ordered an ultra sound (finding a complex cyst) and then did the CA 125 (which thankfully came back negative).
Her new practice is very very busy. It takes 3 to 4 weeks to get an appt if you are sick or have a immediate need and several months to schedule a yearly exam. The scheduler, Adeline, is rude, snide, and unprofessional. You will be put on hold for a long time and when she does come back to the line she will be distracted and put you on hold again.
Don’t waste your time trying to get an appointment here.

It’s March 1, and I called for an appointment. I’d be a new patient. I was told I need a «new patient consultation» before even being examined. The earliest I could get in would be late June, if I want the afternoon. For a morning appt., I’d have to wait until July. If that wasn’t bad enough, I was asked a question, and in the middle of my answering their question, I was put on hold. A simple «excuse me», wouldn’t have killed them. Glad I’m not sick. Couldn’t get in to see the doctor until I was better… or dead. Guess I’ll stick to going to Urgent Care on an as needed basis.

i first saw Dr Szeto when my then GP was on vacation and Dr Szeto was the on-​call dr. After my GP retired, I started seeing Dr Szeto as my regular doctor. She was always great, but now that she has moved into her own practice, it’s even better!
The best thing about Dr Szeto is that she tries to get her patients to make lifestyle changes rather than handing out RXs like candy on Halloween.
I especially like that she listens and understands the concerns about costs of treatments and insurance drug coverage. That’s appreciated in this day and age!
And if she’s not available, her partner Dr. Chern is also awesome!

Wonderful Doctor! I recommend her to everyone! I even got my husband (then boyfriend) to change doctors to go to her. Also now we have a new family member (our baby boy), Dr Szeto sees our entire family.
She takes the time to really listen to you and is very kind. Her nurse staff is also top notch.
