I have been a regular daily patron of Coffee Commissary for over a year now, but I was recently informed of unfair treatment of the baristas, who have been forced to work more hours for less pay. This is unacceptable. I have come to know all of the baristas personally and cannot support a business that treats its employees with such disrespect. So I am boycotting Coffee Commissary.

I LOVE the bread here, but… Yesterday I went in to buy a loaf of bread. The guy behind the counter warned me that the bread was a day old, and offered to sell me the baguette I was eyeing bread for half price. I appreciated the heads up. I bought it, and ate it. It as fine. My expectations were firmly in place. Today, I sent my husband in to buy another loaf of bread. Thinking, surely they had to have fresh bread by now. This time, there was no heads up, and the bread was obviously TWODAYSOLD. Inedible. Really Commissary? A FOURDOLLARTWODAYOLD baguette? If I wasn’t so pitifully lazy, I would have returned it. That bread should not have been sold. I can toast up for croutons, but that is it… I was THRILLED when u guys hit the neighborhood. FINALLY, a place to buy a good baguette IN Burbank. I loved coming in for a great breakfast and leaving with a great baguette for dinner. U guys r breaking my heart and it is Valentines Day… Disappointed.

Great: Chocolate chip cookie Latte Seating space(outdoor and indoor options, ample bars/tables/booths available) Choice of music Decent: Cold brew Noise level Not so good: Service for ordering Parking I always come here after I drop off my gf for PT at the nearby Première Medical Center. Truth be told the reason I tried it was simple geography(it’s the closest). The reason I keep coming back is the cookie. Not gonna lie I do it all for the cookie. The parking lot is small and street parking is difficult at this intersection. Luckily I come during non-peak times it looks like. It’s a decent place to get some work done, provided you don’t mind background music and chatter. I even managed to run a lunch work meeting. But the COOKIE. That’s why I come back. The chocolate chip cookie is as good as the other reviewers say. I’ll keep coming back as long as the gf needs PT, but not worth traveling for.

Wow… After raving to a friend about the best decaf I have ever had, I decided to take her to here to show her that decaf CAN be as good as regular. I ordered two decaf espressos and went by the bar, giddy about the fact that I was going to prove her wrong. Then we got them… W.T.F… So after spitting it back into the cup and gagging a bit I asked the barista with the untucked shirt and floppy vest if they changed the decaf. He frowned and almost embarrassed, replied, «yeah… They switched back to that Victrola crap…». Why!!! The answer, verbatim, «because the owner’s a dick and doesn’t care about his customers.» Kinda didn’t know how to respond to that one. One thing for positive, my girlfriend wont believe me about the decaf thing, nor let me live down the fact that I choked up coffee in front of people, and I will NEVER, step foot in commissary again. P. S. Mr. or Mrs. Commissary owner. If you can’t taste the fact that you’re coffee is complete garbage, then maybe you should hire someone that knows how to choose right. Thanks for ruining my afternoon.

Hands down, still the best Coffee Shop in Burbank! My personal favorites are: Iced Mocha, Pork Belly Brown Rice Bowl and Regular Chocolate Chip Cookie.

Used to love this place but the guy running the place just cut employee pay without warning. I absolutely cannot support a business that so blatantly abuses it’s employees. Reward good employees with a respectable salary– don’t cut it without warning. For SHAME.

There’s this friend of mine who frequently tells me how great the coffee is here. We work together, we drink coffee together, and he usually finds a way to work in how«great coffee is at the Commissary». Well, folks, the other day he and I both happened to be driving by and when he pointed this spot out I insisted we stop. I’m no coffee connoisseur but I know a good cup when I drink it. He prepared me ahead of time for the price, which was supposedly $ 4 a cup. We entered and looked at the menu board. It was now $ 5 a cup for a pour over. A pour over, as I understand it, means the dude behind the counter pours boiling water over the ground for a single serving. How is this superior to, you know, just brewing the coffee? Anyway, I paid my $ 5 and received my cup of coffee. It was something called«Mad Cap» from Ethiopia. Ho-ly shit. $ 5 for this? I expected to be blown the fuck away for $ 5(it was a relatively small cup, too), instead this tasted no better than the coffee they offer me when I drop my car off at the mechanic. It was bitter and lacked any punch. Josh, if you happen to read this review then this is a second reminder you are a dick for getting me to part with $ 5 for a mediocre cup of joe.

The place itself: hipster-ish, but kinda lacked a real vibe… I think the random 90s urban hip hop playing that day kind of threw me off. Like, you’re trying to bring that Brooklyn vibe and failing, but nice beards. I ordered coffee and a baguette. Yes, I just wanted a whole baguette and I asked them if they could wrap half for me, some butcher paper would have been fine. Instead I just received my baguette cut in four pieces in two different brown boxes. Okay? I went with their Gibraltar and whoa, talk about bitter, acidic coffee. Honestly, felt burnt AF to me. My sister got the breakfast tacos and a latte with almond milk. Totally fine. Wait time: too long. Food: Tasty Coffee: meh Beards: on point

That’s just for the cookie! THEBEST Chocolate Chip cookie I’ve ever had. Melts in your mouth, all over your hands and face but totally worth it. Sip it down with a great cup of Americano coffee by a stylish Barista. You can take it to go and the cookie is still great a few days later. Or sit back and do some people watching. It’s clean and small but spacious feeling. There’s an outdoor patio which I think is a good place if you plan on chatting with your friends. Mostly the people sitting inside are busy typing away on their computers. Perhaps writing their own review on Unilocal.:-P #feastwithme side note: They also have full menu. The breakfast potatoes were noteworthy.

I’ve been there a couple times and I can honestly say I’ve had better. The service is great but the food is overpriced and not as tasty as it reads on the menu

I’ve only been here for the coffee — a super tasty mocha shall I say! Beautiful space in an industrial chic kinda way. Patrons are sitting around enjoying the great atmosphere. Can’t wait to return, you should go!

I should’ve come here sooner… I had passed by this place over & over before I finally stopped in a couple weeks ago. needless to say, I enjoyed it & found myself there for the second time. last time I played it safe & got a regular iced coffee & cookie. both were good. this time I ordered the veggie burrito($ 8– sunny egg, potatoes, avocado, pico de gallo, & cheddar, comes with a side of chips & salsa) and an iced vanilla almond milk latte. did not disappoint. I was there before lunchtime, no line, few people in the dining area. music is great and even as it got close to lunchtime & people came in, it was still pleasant to sit & enjoy as I checked emails. for my fellow salsa lovers, I loved the salsa. and like others who are not vanilla latte lovers, this was delicious.

For a place with«coffee» in the title, it’s certainly not their strong suit. Okay, so they make pretty designs in the foam when you order a hot drink… but the espresso is too weak to make pretty designs worthwhile and ordering a dine-in iced drink will inevitably lead to disappointment. As one of the only two options for coffee in the immediate area, my friend and I tend to meet here when we’re not in the mood for Starbucks. What they have going for them is plenty of parking, seating(indoor and outdoor), and awesome pastries/cookies and food. Unfortunately, it’s usually so long in-between visits that I have just enough time to forget I don’t love the drinks. I apologize ahead of time for how pretentious I am going to sound when describing the coffee situation, but here it is. There was nothing offensively wrong with my iced vanilla latte with almond milk this afternoon. It was just weird to see such a tall glass only 2⁄3 full, especially when I had just shelled out $ 5.50 plus tip because I’m the tipping kind. Thinking on it, if they would just use something other than a pint glass for dine-in orders, it would probably solve this issue for me. Due to the aforementioned glass size problem, my friend’s iced cappuccino reached about the halfway mark. Proportionately, this makes sense I suppose… it just has the appearance of a rip off. Especially when it’s essentially a mini-latte because there was no foam to be found. Oh, Coffee Commissary, why must you make me be this person who even cares that there’s no foam on her friend’s cappuccino? The insane chocolate chip cookie we shared almost made up for the sad drinks. Also, the Pork Belly Brown Rice Bowl was delicious — fatty, tender pork belly, a fried egg, vinegar-covered greens, pickles and radishes, brown rice and sriracha… yes, I would get that again. For $ 20, you’re better off coming for lunch and dessert and skipping the coffee portion.

I love this place. Good food, good coffee, good parking, free wifi, you get the picture. It’s not pretentious and is definitely a solid go-to whenever I’m in Burbank. +Their vanilla latte is wonderful, and I’m not even a fan of vanilla. +Pork belly at a coffee shop yesssss. I’ve had the pork belly brown rice bowl and the pork belly banh mi and both are amazing. +Location is great for whenever you happen to be visiting Warner Bros, etc. Straight up right across the street from the lots. +7 am — 8 pm, easy place to grab and go dinner whenever I need to. +Always fast and friendly service. Major plus. +Small parking lot, but street parking is pretty easy if that gets filled up. +Pretty latte art :) Just appreciating the small things. Prices are standard for a good coffee shop, about $ 4 for a latte, $ 4.50 for a vanilla latte. Food is generally around $ 10-$ 12 or below. Definitely prefer this one over the other location due to the space and food, even though the other one is closer to my work.

This time I was prepared and knew they had a menu and ordered the brisket sandwich with an iced vanilla latte. The brisket sandwich was packed with flavors, the brisket slightly dry, and the bread was tough. I remember being toasted with a hard outer layer. The bite was tough, but after that very enjoyable in your mouth. The iced vanilla latte was as good as I ordered it the previous visit. It really got my pumped for bike ride back along the LA River.

This is the BEST coffee I have found in Burbank. It’s so good I’ll drink one there and take one to go! I don’t have to add sugar cause it is perfectly brewed! For drinks, my favorites are their vanilla latte and the cubano. But I haven’t been disappointed in any of their drinks. $ 4.50& $ 4 They also have glass bottle cokes! Breakfast is the way to go! The protein plate is an excellent meal. Quality is great. My favorite go to. $ 10 The French dip was only ok. Excellent ingredients, but it was served as a cold sandwich with warm dipping sauce. For the price, I won’t do that again. $ 13 A friend got the egg salad sandwich the other day and it looked amazing. It’s the next thing on my list to try. Also brunch on Saturda
