This review has taken me a while to post because I LOVED this place… but I am never coming back after the terrible experience. A friend of mine and I were seated at one of the booths at the bar for Happy Hour. At one point, a man in the booth next to us gestured to me and said«You know everyone can hear your conversation, right?» The conversation between this irate man and myself escalates because he’s offended by the discussion of birth control and asexuality. Eventually he gets the manager involved who confirms that I shouldn’t discuss birth control as a hormone therapy for issues unrelated to sex. I was not going into graphic detail about raunchy sexual exploits. We were literally talking about NOT having sex and this was apparently a discussion I should«save for home». So no. I’m never going back. Apparently freedom of speech isn’t a thing if you’re female and want to discuss sexual health issues that don’t involve men. Apparently, if you’re seated at a bar during happy hour where everyone is getting $ 4 margaritas, this is inappropriate. At a bar. Not the restaurant side. The bar.

This place needs to lose the 1984 tuxedos and focus on improving their food, especially the salsa. I think a good start would be to shorten the menu a lot, and offer some fresh specials. The tuxedos date this restaurant, and highlight the slow service my party of three received on a weeknight. This is Los Angeles, and there are many incredible places to eat Mexican food. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.

So I know I tend to be polarized in my reviews and I don’t mean to be I promise! But k think this may be my new favorite Mexican restaurant! I know that’s saying a lot. Now I’m not comparing it to my hole-in-the-wall staples from my native San Diego to which nothin compares, BUT, as far as sit down Mexican, this may do it! Many times you can get insight off the chips and salsa from a place, and these are warm and tasty and e salsa tasted great. Good kick to it and didn’t taste bland or run of the mill. They have a ridiculous menu, which I do really bad with options because they have everything here! But the have al pastor which I absolutely love. I thought it was really good, but could have been more juicy than dry(in reference to the marinade, not the meat). And I had a cheese enchilada which Ive always had at these places since I was little and they didn’t disappoint me. My bestie had a shrimp burrito. Tasty as well and they were generous with the shrimp. Margaritas were great, not too sweet and leaning on the clear side(if you know what I mean), and I tried their Mexican Coffee which I’ve never had anywhere before and t was great. I have to admit I liked the guys behind the counter, which has nothing to do with anything… Ahem… But all in all, I’ll be back! Yummy yum yum Check it out! Way more low key than any of these places in Burbank or in the area.

Great Mexican food. Service is always excellent. Not very pricey and the portions are big. I always go home with a doggie bag. Not sure when the happy hour is but they have hot wings, enchiladas and cold beer for a very good price.

This place was fine, but not great. The menu is huge. I thought the best thing on each plate was the protein, and they have a really good house made habañero hot sauce(which you need to specifically request). The rice, beans, and regular salsa were«meh.» I ordered the«al pastor,» which is actually beef at this place. The waiter told me it had red sauce, but, instead, it was seasoned grilled skirt steak with a pineapple slice on top — no sauce. The steak was yummy, just not what I expected — and I did not want the pineapple. The rice was dry. My boyfriend had the shrimp fajitas. He said the shrimp was good, but he did not care for the rest. The meals all came with either soup or salad, which was nice. The albondigas soup was tasty. Neither of us liked the salsa that came with the chips. It was oddly sweet and did not taste fresh. And the guacamole was under seasoned. We asked for house made hot sauce, and that was super spicy — a big improvement over the other salsa. The deep fried ice cream does not appear to be deep fried. It is ice cream rolled in cornflakes, in a fried four tortilla bowl, with chocolate sauce and caramel. I still thought it was tasty even though it was not what I expected. The service was friendly, but very slow on a weeknight. It took quite a while for them to take our order(which meant I ate too many chips), and then we had to ask twice for the tortillas for the fajitas. My boyfriend had to wait for several minutes to get them after his food came.

I’ve been here a few times with my friend who loves is. Service: Okay — no amazing, not bad. Food: I love the frijoles de la olla; they are nice and smokey. All the other items I’ve tried are okay, but not anything amazing. If you are looking for authentic cuisine, this isn’t it… but it’s overall decent.

Since there were only three of us we were able to «skip the line» and sit at a small table in the bar area. Chips and salsa arrived at our table almost before we sat down. The service was quick throughout the evening. Drinks were moderately priced, I paid $ 5.50 for a bottle of corona. The appetizers were huge and especially given the free chips & salsa they could easily become a well-priced meal. I ordered the combination #9 — Enchilada Suiza which was a tortilla dipped in green tomatillo sauce stuffed with shredded chicken. It was just ok. I finished about half of it and unfortunately left my box of left overs on the table. We realized this upon returning to our car which was parked 2 blocks away and literally ran back to the restaurant only to find they’d already thrown our boxes out. We’d been gone for 5 minutes tops :(I am surprised they throw them out so quickly and the waitress and staff was completely unapologetic which was a disappointment. Parking is easy and free in the nearby garages and there is also easy to find street parking within a few blocks.

Don cucos might be the best kept secret in burbank, the happy hour at the bar specifically. They have $ 4.75 margaritas that are really good and strong! And they offer like 10 different flavors! But best of all they offer free food YESFREEFOOD, it’s buffet style and they usually have 2 different options they’ll keep switching out until 7 pm(when happy hour ends). I believe this happy hour is daily. Free food options include: enchiladas, burritos, nachos, chicken fajitas, chicken and rice and beans. So sit at the bar order a margarita(or 3) and they’ll offer you free chips and salsa and walk on over to the free food buffet. You’ll thank me later. And the customer service is top notch, servers are always attentive and super nice! Love this place, only downside is it’s right next to my gym :/so at least once a week I’m tempted to walk on over after working out… Ok maybe actually every time I’m at the gym I’m tempted to walk to don cucos.

This place is a good restaurant and always treat my father and myself with great respect. Now three stars because I believe 4 or 5 stars need to be great or elite. This place is good but there is something missing from the food for me. I can’t describe it but this place is somewhere you should take your family :) thank you

I was pleasantly surprised how authentic and delicious this place was. Ordered the lobster enchiladas and either my boyfriend and I were extremely hungry, or everything was just simply delicious. I am going to go with the latter. Will definitely be returning.

This is definitely an above average mexican-american place. The vibe is over-the-top and kinda quirky, but the food is tasty and the portions are large. My favorite dish is the burrito with beef al carbon. If you don’t want the gargantuan portions that come with their plates for some reason, you can order a la carte for more affordable prices off the back of the menu. The burritos are large, the beans and rice are plentiful, and table chips and salsa are pretty good too! I like that the salsa has a bit of a kick to it. I also liked the apple chimichanga dessert. The apples werent incredible, but it has a nice flavor and size for four bucks! So not a purely authentic mexican restaurant, but the food is good, portions are nice, and service is decent. Good spot!

The chicken wings here are amazing! I came to visit for a week and it was so good I had to come twice! Margaritas are great as well!

Very yummy. Great service and great food. If you get there on a busy night, wait at the bar. The drinks are great and so is the conversation. Moderate pricing. No complaints. Great dimmed lighting too.

First time here; overall a great experience. The service was definitely the highlight of the evening. It was simply amazing, there is only one goal and that is to make you feel at home and provide customers with an outstanding service so kudos to all staff members. BTW; dirty plates won’t stay on your table for longer than a minute, anybody, and I mean any staff member notice a dirty/empty plate in your table and it’s going immediately. I ordered a traditional margarita… they are not shy about the alcohol in this place. I also ordered the chicken tortilla soup and a the big chicken taco with refried beans. The soup was phenomenal and the big chicken taco, well not bad, but not great either, I had better. The ambience is more than adequate, music kept at a decent level, good enough to have a normal conversation without yelling, place is kept clean and so what more could you possible wish for. I’ll be back!

Don Cuco is solid Mexican food when you’re craving a sit-down place. They have a bunch of different margarita options(the mango is good if you like something on the sweeter side). The portion sizes are pretty good, and the prices are decent($ 4.50 for tacos, etc). I also really like their tortilla soup — you’ll get choice of soup or salad with a full-on entrée, but I recommend soup for sure. Oh and ordering the guac is a must — though they will bring you great spicy salsa for your tableside chips. I come here every couple months but I don’t sit around and crave it.

Don Cuco: from the moment you walk through the Spanish style wooden doors, prepare to be dazzled with this classic Mexican style restaurant. It reminds me of my first favorite restaurant as a child in San Clemente, the Villa. «I’ll have chips and a margarita, please!» It is casual and comfortable. Just nice enough to appreciate even on date night. The chips are warm & fresh and the salsa has a delicate kick. We ordered the guacamole and the perfect size soup Choice of albondigas or my favorite the chicken tortilla. Let me tell you, the steak and shrimp fajitas are ridiculous. The steak is True fajita steak, seasoning is brilliant. The sautéed veggies are delectable. Big Fans! We will be back for that big stone cauldron we saw at the table across from us Catch you later Butt Faces! Love Tristyn

Service: 4 Food: 3 Cleanliness: 1 Server was nice but he didn’t know what was in the dishes & gave vague answers. Food was mushy & chicken was brown & tasteless. Cleanliness was pretty gross. The lamp above our table was full of dust bunnies.

We’ve been to Don Cuco a handful of times now and they’re due for a review. This is a good spot to grab lunch or dinner, or even stop in for aps and drinks. I always order their classic Margie on the rocks with no salt and it never disappoints. The chips and salsa also go down quick and easy. Service is always friendly and I really love the private booth, energetic, dimly lit vibe this place offers. It’s great for catching up or having those convo’s that you don’t necessarily need everyone in ear shot over hearing. The food is mediocre and on par with what you’ll find at most Mexican sit down restaurants in town(Casa Vega, Loteria Grill, Sol y Luna), not to say I don’t enjoy it but don’t think for a second this is going to be the most amazing meal you’ve ever had. No! That’s not the reason for coming here. My go to entrée is usually the cheese enchilada plate but most recently I had the Striped Bass Fish Filet that shockingly took me by surprise it was so tasty! My son and I have also ordered a few aps and called it a meal because they’re plenty filling. The flautas and quesadillas are both pretty yumm. The guac, like most places is what I find to be pretty bland and can definitely use a kick, toss in some diced peppers or something and jazz that bad boy up. Parking can be a little tricky at times but I usually find something, somewhere in close proximity on a side street.

Very beautiful restaurant on the inside! They have a lot of stained glass, decorative tile and cute little stained glass candles on the tables. It’s a very cozy atmosphere on the inside! The plates were exceptional and the service was great! The only reason I put four stars instead of five is because compared two other restaurants that serve these dishes, I think the meal was a bit expensive. If they took a couple of dollars off of each dish I think they would do a lot more business. The restaurant interior is truly beautiful though so I felt I was paying for a bit of the experience and that was okay. I will be back!

Came in for lunch today with a group from work. This place is pretty big with a full bar. I ordered the Tropical Salad, no cheese or dressing and added an order of shrimp. It was good! The chicken and shrimp were marinated and I asked for the protein to be prepared sans any oils or butters, it was very good! The salad also came with mango slices and grilled pineapple on a bed of iceberg lettuce, very flavorful, healthy and light.
