Don’t waste your time. Doesn’t smell like anything good is cooking; in fact smells stale. The Chicago dog was a real flop. No green relish, thick cucumbers, big onions, one tiny pepper. Looks nor tastes like a Chicago dog. I should have turned around and left out when there were no other patrons to be seen for a whole 15 to 20 minutes.

A great hot dog and hamburger joint. Fries could be crisper. Their hot wings are good. Try their food and determine which items you enjoy.

A little pricey for two hot dogs, two drinks, and two fries but it was pretty good. Other patrons were annoying teenagers but I would go back again.

I love this place, have been going there since it opened. I moved away from the area and rarely make it there now… But tonight(Sunday) I made a detour, and took the long way home, to be able to stop there. They close at 6:00, and we got there at 5:30… And the young blonde girl working there gave us a look of disgust as soon as we walked in… She walked to the register, looked at the clock, and gave us the stink eye again. I ordered my sandwich, then my wife ordered a chicken sandwich, to which we were told«I’m locking the door in 5 minutes, we don’t have time to make these!» Really? She was locking the door at 5:36? Then the sign should say 5:30. I have never been chased out of a restaurant 25 minutes prior to them closing… And turning down my money. If not for this girl they would have 5 stars from me, but I will never go out of my way again, and have her be there… In a hurry to leave, and running me off again. Staff meeting with at least one attitude adjustment is definitely needed!

This is the best restaurant to go to if you win the lottery. Since you’ll have plenty of money to blow, you’ll enjoy they’re overpriced tasteless food. Oh yeah… plan on being paid very little attention to while ordering. They like to talk amongst themselves or with other patrons while they’re taking your order regularly. Here’s a good one. Look on the wall. There’s a newspaper clipping exclaiming how wonderful their pepper and egg sandwich is. I ordered it. It was all eggs. And tasted like a dirty griddle. Thanks Dugout! You guys are hacks. I can’t wait till the day your business closes and I see you working at Burger King up the street.

I thought I’d give them a try tonight. Can’t get a simple order of fries and a beef dipped in gravy right. Forgot my fries and the beef dry. No more for me. Nickys down the street keeps my business.

The Dugout is a small little Chicago style fast food eatery with a baseball theme located off of 79th street in Burbank. When walking in you’ll notice lots of sunfaded White Sox and even Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks memorabilia on the walls(all of the Cubs memorabilia can be found in the restroom). They have a small menu of fairly typical Chicago style fast food. Italian Beefs, Burgers, Chicken sandwiches and hot dogs. In visiting the Dugout I decided to try the hot dog. The hot dog served here came on a regular poppy seed bun. The bun was soft but cut slightly strangely, it might just have been a mismade bun but the hot dog wound up positioned oddly as it seems to have been cut at the wrong angle. This hot dog did not have a pickle on it, but did have slices of cucumber. Generally speaking cucumber dogs usually have the pickle, this is the first time I immediately recall having one without a pickle on it. There were two thick sport peppers on this hot dog. No sign of celery salt was detected, the onions and relish were applied well. It was a little light on mustard application. The sausage itself was a skinless dog and was well heated. Overall, the hot dog I had at the Dugout was fairly average. While I liked the small and cozy atmosphere of the place itself, I’ll have to give this place three stars, not bad but not worth writing home about either.

Great little takeout place, very clean, with a couple of booths for eat-in customers. Very friendly, patient, and helpful staff. I was going to try the pepper and egg(my son got it, it’s huge!), but I settled on the Sicilian chicken sandwich. I think that’s what it was called.. . it was a special.. . it was sooo good. Freshly cooked, nice thin fresh chicken breast(not one of those weird inch-thick slabs of meat that comes out of the freezer) with mozzarella, garlic sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion on a fresh roll. Not huge, but hugely satisfying. Delish. I loved that the sandwiches come wrapped in paper(eco-friendly), but the cups are styrofoam, so we didn’t order drinks. Oh, and my son got a free ice cream cone – back to school special! Excellent place to take kids. This place is a winner.

So simple and beefy. Sometimes rather than running your weiner through the garden. All you need is a splat of mustard and celery salt on a steamed bun. There is a handwritten nifty sign displaying their $ 5 deals, not to shabby. I imagine this place has been here for awhile, their posters have all been eaten by the sun. Faded and full of history. I’ll be back :)

Great little restaurant. The owner, Mike is a class act. I’ve been eating here for over 20 years and it’s never disappointed. Just stop in, grab a bite to eat, and you’ll want to return. Thank me later.

If at all it’s gets 1 star on it’s best day as a child the dug out was the place to eat the quality of the food was good and the prices reasonable buy now the prices are absurd for what they offer the food is descent but not for what they are charging I’d rather get the dollar menu from mcdonalds then waste my money at the dugout. Unless your in dire need of food should your life depend on it I would not eat at the dugout.
