I came here today around noon. The place was pretty empty at that time. They have a lot of variety in their buffet so I was excited! I started at the sushi station and got some of the salmon, tuna and a spicy tuna tempura roll. I walked the rest of the buffet and picked out a small amount of several different hot items to try. The sushi I ate was pretty good. I started trying the other items and everything was basically like warm, or cool. Not dead cold, but definitely in the temperature danger zone. I stopped eating those items and went back to try something else. Everything that should’ve been hot wasn’t. I was afraid to get sick due to the temperature control. The sushi was good, but not worth the price for a full buffet. :(

When I think of hokkaido, I think of variety of good food, this is the opposite! This is my first time eating at this branch and there is no way i am coming back. 5:24pm dinner barely started, food was not fresh, very hard, very cold, awful. Worst buffet I’ve ever tried. I wanted to gather the people and ask them to do a strike with me! Pls don’t eat here and waste money, mcdonalds is better than this.

Awful, just awful. Food was cold, except the cold food, which was warm. Crab legs just sat in water so when you try to eat them, water comes shooting out and meat tastes like water. There is a chocolate fountain. but nothing to dip in it with! Cheesecake was frozen. wtf? This place is just lame. Bad food, bad tables, bad service. Just close already.

My co worker took me to this place for lunch the food quality is so bad. For lunch there are no green tea ice cream, also there a not so much variety to choose.

DONOTEATHERE! I was here Wednesday night. there was one other table that night. quick tip for all of you. if a buffet is empty. RUN! no new food comes out when nobody is there. everything was cold and you could tell it was sitting there quite a while. I should have followed my instincts better and not eaten there. but my family had to eat what could I do? anyways. I had to sit on the throne 3x after that meal there and I took a day off of work the next day. I’ve had great experiences at the Encino location. but this was just a disaster. I will never go back. my body and bowels can’t take the pain anymore.

place was garbage. i would give this place no stars if i can. food was old. service was bad. most important thing was the chef that handles the seafood and king crab had no sense of safe food handling. I ran into the chef in the bathroom and he did not wash his hands after peeing. His hands were on his junk and straight to food handling after not washing his hands. They refused to cook fresh food on the grill. It’s under new management. do not go there!!! Place and staff is disgusting!!! I just hope I don’t get sick tomorrow.

Actually think this place is good. I saw the reviews and imagined the worse food and the bad service, but I would agree that they don’t pickup dirty dishes from your table at all. Family and I were celebrating my brothers birthday and the place was not full at all on a Wednesday night. Plenty of food to choose from, but you can notice the staff was winding down for the night and there was still 2 hours to go until closing. After looking around a few food options I went for some seafood dishes as well as sushi and eventually some Chinese food offerings. Sushi was a surprise, was not bad at all, they offer sashimi salad(2 variations) plus a few sushi rolls plus salmon and tuna. Our waiter came around often to fill up our drinks but other then that he was nonexistent. Once the bill came that guy vanished into thin air… So I hope to return and sample some more if I find myself really hungry and in the area. Plenty of seating. Parking is free, what more do you want. Prices are under $ 20 and drinks are about $ 3.

Went here on a friday to celebrate my BIL’s birthday. It’s a nice and chill place. If you’re the type who doesn’t like waiting, then you will like this place. Plenty of seats, and a spacious area to dine in. We also went 20 deep!(20 people) and they had no problem accomodating us with a couple of tables. Having said this… The food is mediocre at best. They have your standard asian food fare. If you’ve been to an asian seafood buffet in the past, there’s nothing new to discover here. The goods: They have seafood like icelandic crab legs, cheese shrimp, gried fish, etc. They have Japanese food like sushi, sashimi, and tempura. Chinese food like on chicken, bok choy, chow mein, chicken brocolli etc. They have hot soups like seafood soup, egg soup, clam chowder. They American food like roast beef, turkey, sausages, bbq ribs, etc. They even have raw noodles, steak, chicken, vegetables, that you can gather on a plate and hand to a cook in front of a hot grille, & they’ll cook it in front of you whilst you wait. They also have desserts like fresh sliced fruits, cookies, jello, a chocolate fondue fountain so you can chocolate cover your marshmallows, & said fruits and stuff. They also have four flavors ice cream, chocolate, mango, strawberry, & green tea. Now the bads: With my experience of seafood buffet places I’ve been to before, I can tell right away if a food is fresh. The food here appeared like it has been sitting for quite awhile. The clam chowder tasted like it was already spoiled, turning me off from trying the other soups that was there. The icelandic crab legs although was a tad over cooked, still it was delicious, however it can be even more tasty if they served it chilled. I went to the raw section & had my dish grilled & prepared so that I know it is indeed cooked fresh. No pictures because honestly, it’s just any other seafood buffets you’ve been to. Special mention was our server. I didn’t get his name but he had long hair and he’s caucasian. He did fantastic job with us.

Got seated quickly, but the table was sticky. I don’t know how they can afford for their buffet to look nice yet can’t pay enough employees to wipe the tables thoroughly. Food was okay. I was disappointed with the taste of their miso soup. Everything either tasted old or stale. I regretted getting the kimchi, I literally spat it out. At least they served real ice cream and cheesecake. The two stars are for the buffet’s nice ambiance and design.

Yes, I’ve def experienced better. I believe it’s under new management and the staff(server and host) were really attentive and very, very nice! However, the food was kinda boring. The warm crab leg buffet tray had floating hair in it… There weren’t very many staff behind the food managing it and I noticed to gentlemen by the cold shrimp area just chatting away and not minding the food or customers. For the location, I would have expected something amazing since it’s competing for loads of customers by the movie theater. 6 Stars for the the Hostess and Servers and 2 Stars for the food.

It’s probably more like a 3.5 but Whatever. The selection here is truly outstanding. There are so many options and I’m not sure it’s possible to try everything. That said, the quality is kinda mixed. A couple of the dishes, like the sesame balls, tempura, shrimp and Tokyo pork chop were outstanding. However some of the other things, like the shu Mai and pork buns, were pretty bad. It was also pretty disappointing that a large portion of the dishes were served at room temperature which makes no sense given that we showed up ten minutes after they opened. They also have a sweet looking Mongolian BBQ station but I was too full by the time I saw it. Whoops, I’ll come back and try it later. Most of the desserts didn’t look too special although the chocolate strawberries and ice cream were decent. The restaurant itself is a very nice space and service is decent too. The price isn’t bad either, twelve bucks at lunch makes this a solid option.

If I could give no stars I would first and last time I will be eating here not only was the service mediocre but the food was old. It was not fresh. I’m a big sushi but skeptical when i don’t see someone making it so I asked the cook if it was fresh and he said in little to no English yes … I should’ve trusted my gut but didn’t … I have been in the bathroom for the last hour throwing up. Sushi n all sorry but it’s true. Now I went back to the restaurant she ignored me and then not understanding what I was saying I told her the food made me sick. I asked how often they change the food and she said about three hours. Wtf sushi cannot be kept out without covering or on ice for that long —- she was hesitant in giving me a refund she only told she would refund one plate not the whole bill when I paid. Now I wasn’t and I’m not in the mood to argue but she should have given me the whole bill… I won’t be coming back here ever

Went to Hokkaido tonight before seeing a movie and the place was shut down by the health department. Talk about stunned. Me and the crowd of folks outside the place were shocked. I never noticed varmints or anything but I guess the health dept did. Please get it cleaned up Hokkaido management and come back soon!

I have been a big fan of Hakkaido since eating at one of their early branches in Newport Beach. But even then there was something a little off. This Hokkaido, located in the newer open mall in Burbank at Palm Ave is one of the more recently opened, and it shows. The food is a little better here, the produce and fish a little fresher, and the staff a little more attentive… but not much. I just can’t bring myself to give it a 2.

(Dined 12÷25÷14TH @ 11:30am): A massive place for Asians — ummm, Pacific Islanders — and all nationalities to enjoy a plethora of food at a great price! Christmas time was here and no one in my party-of-seven family wanted to cook or host this year, so I recommended Burbank’s Hokkaido Seafood Buffet($ 18.99 pp on holidays) since none of us had been there before and we all loved buffet. By the looks of our bulging bellies, I’d say this place was a hit with my family!: Plate #1 Sashimi & Sushi — I cleaned-up at this end of the buffet where I literally grabbed one of everything! The selection was mostly standard items with a few«specialty items» you found at higher menu prices. All freshly-made, good-size pieces and well-worth the price of admission alone! Unfortunately, I realized that all the rice slowed my progress for the rest of the lunch. Plate #2 Chinese Fast Food — From broccoli beef, chow mein, fried chicken wings, orange chicken and more standards, each was a bit salty but again freshly-made, hot and totally appetizing. But yeah, it reminded me too much like Panda Express. Plate #3 Dim Sum — My plate of pork potstickers, pork siu mei, steamed pork bun, red bean cake, fried clams and coconut pastry was my least favorite. Each item was bland, salty and lukewarm. Plus, they didn’t have much of a selection. Plate #4 Dessert — I was completely stuffed at this point, so I opted for a generous scoop of green tea ice cream(self-served), which had to be one of the best I’ve ever had based on the density and lack of chalkiness I’ve experienced in other green tea ice cream. There were four flavors to choose from, as well as a chocolate fountain, gelatins, cakes and an assortment of fresh fruits. Service — We arrived right when they opened, so we were seated immediately. I waited to order water for the table with a friendly young gentleman while everyone else went to get food. The place never really got packed, so we were kind of annoyed by the lack of service from our water glasses being filled to our empty plates being cleared away. Ultimately, we asked in each instance. However, the check was delivered promptly when it appeared we were done. Parking(Free) — Plenty of public parking in the attached structure that was used for various businesses in the media center. If necessary, there was metered parking on the surrounding streets. Atmosphere, décor, ambience — With a decent waiting area, you entered into a banquet-style gigantic floorplan with both cushioned booths and long cherry wood tables and chairs with plenty of room to move around without knocking into others . There were three long walls of food with ample space between the dining area and serving line . There was a small front outdoor patio dining area, too . I was impressed with the nicely-appointed bar great for possible happy hour and sports viewing . I didn’t notice anything hung on the walls except for some bunting. The only natural lighting came through the front glass doors and windows. Otherwise, there was a ton of electric lighting. There were several TVs throughout but no background music. Attire — Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops if it weren’t for Christmas. Overall, Burbank’s location of Hokkaido Seafood Buffet was a gift for my family this holiday season and a welcomed buffet option to add to our list of places close to the Glendale area. In addition to what I ate, there were also a carving station, soups, salads, teppanyaki and more, so yes, I must return to try those, too! Although no one purchased any alcohol, the prices were very competitive . The location was convenient, the price was right and the selection was amazing. So the only negative was the saltiness of some food items and the lack of service. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above(total paid experience was around $ 145.00 before tip). Although I didn’t pay(thanks Mom and Dad!), they accepted my credit card of choice… AMEX! 4.0STARS

It’s not a Las Vegas buffet, but it’s not bad for what it is. Show your ticket stub and you get 20% off. They have a good variety of food. Food is pretty fresh and they replenish quickly. Their seafood and sushi isn’t as good as Las Vegas style buffet, but their sashimi salad was good. They have a small selection of dessert, so I stuck with the fried plantains and sesame balls. I loved their garlic bread, don’t ask, just eat it! Service is great. Place is clean. I would come back since it’s not super crowded here.

Not bad for all you can eat. They have really good quality and priced very reasonable for lunch. Sushi was ok but the buffet had lots of Asian cuisine and fresh fruit for an alternative for desert. I was so impressed with the beef they had. Fresh and tender chunks without the nasty chewy stuff. Hokkaido is good for the times you want to let go and gorge!
