Old school as it gets. Honest shoe and belt repair. Excellent service. He charged so little that I over-​paid. Priceless experience.

I literally live right around the corner from this place and I’ve walked by it hundreds of times. A sole on one of my pairs of boots was coming off and I’d figure that I’d stop by here since it’s so close. John is so sweet and he was very efficient. He had my boot as good as new within an hour, and it was at a very reasonable cost. I’ll definitely be back if I ever need something done again!

After a long night of teaching how to Dougie and moving like Jagger, I decided to get my loafers some brand new swagger. The scuffs were so bad Michael Jackson wrote a song about them. The color was fading like a southern haircut. Imagine waking up to Sepia only you never changed the settings on your camera. This was real.
I knew that I needed to maintain my professional image at work so I took these puppies down to John’s Shoe Repair on Magnolia. I stumbled upon this place by accident. I walked in because I was fascinated by the antique pictures and memorabilia that filled the window.
I kid you not! This man was an original shoemaker from the renaissance era! There is no other explanation. He makes shoes… REAL SHOES… quality shoes from his little shop. Not only do you pay for a superb shoe service but he tells you about the history of your shoe, the make and even adjustments if needed.
If you are looking for a good bang for the buck… or in this case a good bang for the boot, shoe or other foot apparel, I highly recommend John if you are in the area. His shop is probably the oldest business on Magnolia blvd… but with age comes experience and with experience comes quality and trust.

it’s nice that this guy does knife sharpening too but unfortunately he does a rough job on them. Half my fine knives are now nearly lacking a proper tip or more dull then they were when he started on them. It’s sad as there are no cutleries around here.

I came here for a shoeshine and I swear the end result was better than anywhere I’ve been for less money. Expect $ 6 for oxfords and a few more for boots. I plan on taking my shoes back when I need the eventual repairs…
