The ramen was great– spicy and delicious! Took away a star because our waiter never brought us the hot sauce we asked for or refilled our waters. Overall a good lunch spot.

I came here with my family, thinking that this place would be sub-average. A ramen shop in the heart of downtown Burbank? Good ramen shops are hard usually hard to come by. However, I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised. Their ramen had a very authentic taste, with the rich, brothy flavor that you find at places like daikokuya, santouka, etc. I can honestly say that I really enjoyed this bowl of ramen. For the record, I ordered a large bowl with fatty pork, non-spicy.

This place is a pleasant surprise for the Burbank village area. I came with my family on a Wednesday night and were seated promptly upon arrival. Service here was great, very friendly and helpful. Tip #1: There are dedicated parking spaces in the back, sandwiched between the restaurant and the public parking garage. My wife and I enjoyed the chashu tonkotsu ramen bowls with varying levels of spiciness. Unfortunately for me, the noodles were of the thin variety(my favorite are the thicker ramen noodles). Tip #2: The spiciness levels are a step down from what I’m used to. A «spicy» ramen was equivalent to a «medium» at other ramen shops. The ramen itself was okay, good for the neighborhood that it is in, but average compared to the type of ramen available in Pasadena(like at Modan) or even Studio City/Sherman Oaks(like at Yamadaya).

All good, service and ramen My only wish is — please chose better chashu– less fat, more meat, but it’s matter of taste opinion, and I understand some people may like it more fatty. To my opinion, broth is already fatty enough, so adding more makes it kinda heavy. Which is not a problem, will go for afternoon nap right after(wish they would have bedrooms next door :)

Yuck! I didn’t like Orochan’s ramen, but this place was getting good reviews so I decided to give it a try. First, what is up with their attempt to have two restaurants in the same space? We were seated on the left hand side, and were told we could order either Korean OR Japanese dishes. When we both ordered ramen, they asked us to move to the other side of the restaurant. Uhmmmmmmm OK, but the place was pretty much empty(5PM on a Tuesday night). Why make us move? What difference does it make? To us, the customers, it seemed silly and disruptive. The ramen was bland, to the point where it was disgusting. The creamy broth was flavorless and had a fishy after taste. I asked for some seasoning/spice, but it’s literally just ‘spice’ — no actual flavor is imparted or added. A small, sad strip of(pork belly?) and some rubbery noodles completed the sad bowl of ramen. I took a few bites but didn’t have the heart to send it back. My friend only took a few bites as well. The waitress could tell we didn’t like it, to which we did confirm that we did not enjoy our food. She did offer to swap it with different dishes, but at that point we just wanted to leave. The service was pretty friendly. The interior is nicely decorated. But the cross branding/2 restaurants in one is confusing and disruptive for the customer. And the ramen was gross. I had the bad after taste for hours after. Ended up going to In n Out later for dinner. DO not recommend(at least the ramen).

This place is very nice, the décor is modern and the staff is friendly. I have been to many Ramen places that are a bit more of the traditional Ramen you would think of. I got the spicy Ramen with Chashu, the broth was thicker then I am used to, and the noodles were a little like a spaghetti noodle, but it was still very good. They have lunch specials that are reasonable and free refills on drinks which is alway a plus. Many other Ramen places only give you canned drinks and charge for each one. Not the case here. If you go around 11 am, you will bear the crowds and have the place mostly to yourself. Around 11:30 — 12:00 it gets filled up and busy, but they still come around to refill drinks and check to make sure you are doing well. I would recommend this spot for lunch or dinner, it is also connected to a tofu house if you want something different than Ramen.

This is my family’s usual go-to ramen place. Before knowing this, we have to go down all the way to LA just for some quality Ramen. The atmosphere, lighting and the interior of the restaurant is fantastic and caters to be calming. Service is good, and they make sure you’re comfortable and got everything you need. For the menu, we usually order the Chashu Ramen. The broth is delicious! According to them, it takes 16 hours to makes it, and it’s really flavorful. Not only that, their meat is wonderful. It’s not dry and there’s a deep flavor in it. Also, when my mom was in a diet, she got the veggie ramen and it’s a good option as well. We ordered sides, like literally we tried everything on the menu. I recommend the garlic edamame as a finger licking appetizer. The takoyaki and tempura is the best sides. I can’t say how many times we’ve been here but you should really try it out!!!

I’ve been here a couple of times but still lovin’ it. The ambience both serves well for a date or a familly dinner. The people are nice, friendly and attentive(High Five to Anthony: Best Server here). But the internal goodness of this restaurant is their food. Choices are limited but both made with quality and love. The ramen is rich and flavorful. The broth explodes with thousands of flavors and the chashu meat is evenly grilled. I really fell in love with this place. I’ll come back here as many times as possible.

The Tonkatsu soup base was a little salty for my liking since I tend to add on additional toppings. Spicy broth is a better version. Servers were friendly and their promotional free ice-cream macaroon with a Unilocal!review was pretty good too.

My friends and I had a delayed flight from San Jose to burbank because of weather conditions, so we were starving!!! I ordered a large ramen with fatty pork, egg, and bean sprouts. I got super spicy, but it was more like a solid medium. The broth was good and it went down easy. If you are pretty hungry, be prepared to order extra ramen noodles for an additional $ 2.50. My buddy ordered the Bulgogi and it was ok. Not bad, but nothing spectacular. I was pretty satiated after. We finished off the meal with the green tea ice cream and two macaroons. Beware, the macaroons are small. The photos make it look like a Klondike bar, but it is really the size of a really fat oreo cookie. The strawberry and mango macaroons were good! I liked mango better. The value to this place is there. The small dishes really help you get more for your buck. I would return and it is a solid place, but it is not one of my favorites.

If you’re craving ramen and happened to be in Burbank. this is the spot! Since I was feeling under the weather, my boyfriend and I came here on a weekend at about noon and only waited about 5 minutes to be seated. I love the décor in this restaurant, very artsy and modern :) Ordering here is pretty easy, choose the size, type of meat, level of spiciness, and extra sides. I ordered small Chashu with spinach, mushroom and boiled eggs(mild of course) & my boyfriend ordered the large & super spicy version. The broth was creamy and flavorful! Pork was soft and delicious. Good portions as well and prices are not bad at all. Our server, Gina was nice and accommodating as well as their other staff. Their bathroom is very clean and spacious. Overall a great first time experience. Can’t wait to come back.

I work in the area and have always driven by this restaurant. This is my first time here and I’m very impressed with the restaurant’s ambiance. I got the standard ramen with Chashu and a soft boiled egg on the side. They only offer one broth here, pork bone based, but it’s very tasty. You can also choose how spicy you want your broth. I’ll definitely be back for lunch during the week!

My favorite Ramen place — I drive here from the West Valley just to get their phenomenal food! They have great portions, prices and great service every single time I go — even though there is almost always a wait! They allow you to «build your own» ramen by choosing size(small or large), the flavors, meat, and additional extras(hard boiled egg, crunchy onion, etc). Their ramen always comes out just perfect. I recommend the«spicy» to anyone that likes a just right spicy taste!

Communal dining tables Very reasonable prices Vegetarian-friendly option Broth had great depth of flavor and had a wonderful creamy consistency The pork was delicious! Portions are good When you order a side of anything to add to your ramen they actually bring it out on separate dish for you to add which was a little odd to me but to each your own Extra order of noodle is huge so you better be hungry Overall Thoughts I would gladly come back for another bowl of ramen anytime

Arrived on a rainy Wednesday night so it was pretty empty. You can choose to be on the tofu house side or the ramen side. We got ramen of course! SERVICE: Pretty attentive. We were offered water refills so many times haha. My bf’s takoyaki took like 30 minutes to come out and everyone pretty much finished eating already! They have signs up where if you check in, you get free soda(I would seriously prefer a free topping of my choice) but I don’t drink soda. If you write a review, you get a free macaron. It didn’t say it had to be five stars so idk how it works because I didn’t do it there. However, perhaps it was just my table but the signal was pretty crappy anyway and all I could do was check in. I couldn’t even go through Unilocal reviews and pictures. FOOD: Small mild chashu ramen bowl(+1 soft boiled egg) — when they say small, it really is small! I finished it way too quick. My friend got a large and he finished before I did. And it only had one chashu piece!!! I did enjoy the broth and it wasn’t too salty. The mild was good but I probably should’ve gotten medium for a spicier kick. Although it was good, I wish it was at least three. I had to cut my own egg with my chopsticks so my egg and picture is not super pretty. Curry bowl — it had an odd curry taste. I did not like it. My bf liked it because curry is curry to him. Takoyaki — took forever to come out!!! Poor bf had to watch everyone eat while he waited for his food. It was delicious but took way too long. PARKING: Really hard to find. There is a parking structure but the whole San Fernando area is so confusing. We entered a structure that was just for Ross. Whoops. We ended up getting street parking and walking over. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a spot right in front of the shop! -@eatwithkim

I came here the other day with a friend. She wanted Ramen but I was craving some tofu soup. The line on the Ramen side was rather long but since I was wanting tofu soup there was no wait. You can order either from either side. As long as one person is ordering that item. Tofu soup side seems to be generally less crowded. The food its self was good. My tofu soup had that good spicy Korean flavor that and like. My friends Ramen was decent. Nothing special but good for burbank standards. The reason that my review is 3 stars instead of 2 is mainly because of the service. I ordered an appetizer of gyoza to eat while we wait. What ended up coming first was my friends Ramen. Then after a wait. Id say around 5 or so minutes my tofu soup came. Then a few minutes after that the gyoza came. When I mentioned this to the waiter he mentioned that the kitchens are separate so the orders go in and therefore come out at different times. I know its a little thing but I like things to come out in proper order. Mains together and apps before that. Really that was my main complaint. Bottomline — If you want Tofu soup or Ramen and don’t wanna leave burbank no reason not to.

Updated Review for the Tofu House that is jointly combined with Kopan. Originally I didn’t want to try the place but Rain, one of the front house recommended it. Finally there’s decent Korean food in Burbank. I say finally because the other places don’t compare. We got the lunch specials that included tofu soup + either bulgogi, spicy pork, spicy chicken, or just chicken. It was actually very filling and I had leftovers. Rain actually recommended the ham and cheese(wtf, right?)but I’m glad she did because I got it and was not disappointed. It’s definitely a thicker broth. The food was hot and there was unlimited banchan/side dishes. I will be back and bring everyone I know!

This place is so much better than Orochon. Flavor just felt much more authentic. Service was also great. Also came here for the tofu house, which I think is actually a separate business, but I can’t find it on Unilocal.I guess they’re just sharing space until they renovate it to split up the two. The tofu soup was also really great(even the ham and cheese one that my husband got, as weird as it sounded). Unfortunately, I’ve read reviews that say you can’t order from both the tofu place and ramen — the whole party has to come for one or the other.

When we walked into the restaurant, the hostess asked if we were going to eat tofu or ramen. I thought it was a strange question to ask but depending on your answer, they sit you in different sections of the restaurant. One side is for ramen and the other side is for tofu. Both sides have different décor. Since we were planning on ordering both, they sat us down on the tofu side of the restaurant. I am not sure what that concept is all about it. Eventually, we all ended up ordering ramen and no tofu. Since we were seated in the tofu section, our server mentioned to us that we should sit in the ramen section next time. I am not sure why that makes a difference since hardly anyone was eating at the restaurant at the time. We ended up ordering the ramen lunch special with chasu(pork belly) and with a side of fried squid legs and takoyaki. Depending on the bowl size of your ramen, you get one or two strips of pork belly which clearly wasnt enough. The ramen broth was tasty but not as good as Jinya ramen. The fried squid legs and takoyaki were equally as good and were a perfect compliment to the Ramen.

SHLURP What better than to start the new year off with a warm, rich and creamy, and a tad bit of spicy flare, bowl of ramen… or tofu? aaaaaaah~~ The tofu seems like it gets better every time I come! The chefs are honing in their craft, according to my taste buds. I really like how they rotate new side dishes that come out with the tofu every now and then. And, I can’t help it, but the combo deals are such a steal; I always end up ordering a combo; it’s so worth it! Try tofu, it good fo’ you! LOL(sorry, couldn’t help the inner Asian) Takoyaki and soft shell crab are still as good as ever sometimes Kopan gets super busy and there’s a wait, so it helps that all the appetizers come out super fast. Food comes fast for those hungry hungry hippos(me)! For frequenters or noobies alike: try getting ramen with some spinach, garlic chips, fried onions, and chicken. SO, SO, SO good. This is one of my favorite ways to order. Yes, it makes all the difference in the ramen experience when you order right. Make sure you put a little bit of each side in each spoonful you scoop up to demolish. And, if you like a little heat, ask for the spicy sauce/oil(it’s super concentrated, so taste-test with each squirt of spiciness, so you don’t turn into a piping red dragon). You follow my little concoction and you’ll have the most perfectly crispy, perfectly creamy, all while a bit spicy bowl of A++++ ramen! As per usual, the service is on point: D(they don’t get angry when I ask for my 20th refill of soda mehehehe: P) CHOWTIME, yes?! Bön Apetit!

My friend and I were craving Ramen and wanted to stay local. Turns out Kopan Ramen is really the only ramen place in all of Burbank, so we kind of ended up here by default. The restaurant is kind of an interesting set up. Upon walking in the restaurant is divided into two sections(two restaurants in 1) one side of the restaurant is a tofu place, and the opposite side is for us ramen lovers. The tofu section has individual tables and was a much more quiet atmosphere and the ramen side had communal tables, which is actually a pet peeve of mine. It reminds me of my old elementary school lunch tables, where everyone sits together and you really don’t have much privacy. I got their veggie ramen, mild spiciness and added shiitake mushrooms, honestly, I wish I got something else. It was very bland and didn’t have much flavor. My friend got the chicken ramen and hers was much more flavorful and overall more filling. I will be back again, but will opt for a different dish.

Tasted like Tokyo in a savory bowl! The restaurant is a dual concept eatery with your choice of dining at Tofu House next door or slurping ramen at Kopan Ramen 2. Maybe that 2 means«too»? Broth is made from simmered pork bones, incredibly rich and hearty. For vegetarians, there’s broth made with mushrooms and seaweed. The drill is simple: — choose your bowl size, small or large — select meat(pork belly, chicken breast were 2 of the 3 choices) — add toppings The latter is where it can get expensive! So many choices: corn, shiitake, bamboo shoots, spinach, on and on. Each bowl also includes a sheet of nori(seaweed) and green onions. About $ 1-$ 3 extra for the toppings. Wait help was patient and friendly, keeping our water glasses filled and making sure we enjoyed our meal. Uh, the empty bowl shoulda been a hint. Even my «no salt» friend who rarely drinks the broth, slurped it all up! Easy and free parking around the corner, a delicious find in Burbank, who knew?!

Ramen was good Pork bun was good Tempura green tea was good However the service was okay. Most of the waiters were pretty cool but my actual waiter was kind of mean to me. :(It was hard to get his attention! When he finally looks at me, I would ask him a question and he would give me a little attitude and made me wait even longer. :(

I’ve tried 3 other ramen spots and this is my fave place. The soup base is perfect and spicy, you can chose your spice level. they serve thin noodles, which I prefer. I usually get the chicken breast ramen and add an egg, wood ear mushrooms, & green onions. Yum! You can also chose a small or large bowl of ramen. Usually come during lunch hours, so I take advantage of the Lunch Combo Specials. You get a bowl of ramen and any bowl or side. They just remodeled this place to add a Soon Tofu area, can’t wait to try that.
