Best service ever! The food is extremely delicious and the drinks are exquisite! Definitely a restaurant well worth it.

Got to check this place out for happy hour. It ends at 7pm, which is great. $ 5 margaritas, $ 5 imports, $ 4 domestic, $ 3 off appetizers. The restaurant inside is dark. They also have an outdoor patio facing Olive St. It’s a nice place to chill outside for happy hour. I enjoyed it. Margaritas were good! They don’t skimp on the tequila and it wasn’t too sweet like other places. They also have different flavors like usual mango, strawberry etc. Food: Ordered the nachos, quesadilla, steak picado and guacamole. Nachos looked plain but they were good. Flavor was there. Quesadilla was a little bland, had to drench it in guac and salsa. Steak picado was regular, wish it was a little more tender. The guac was really good. They mix it in front of you and the lime adds a lot of flavor. It’s pretty thick for guacamole I would say but not too bad. Only reason for my 3 stars instead of 4: Our waiter was really nice and attentive but kept speaking to us in Spanish when he knew our party didn’t understand it that well. We had three Spanish speaking individuals in our group and they couldn’t really understand him either. We had to go to the bar a few times to make sure he didn’t put in the wrong order of shots. It was like he was trying to convince us to buy a more expensive brand or a double shot instead of a regular one. My group figured it was a marketing tool/language barrier to get us to accidentally spend more. Lastly, when I got home and looked at our receipt, they did not charge us happy hour prices for our appetizers. We were charged regular price for all our food items without the $ 3 off. Besides that, the happy hour was decent. I was expecting a lot better for a 4 ½ rating on Unilocal.Pobre de mi.

My daughter suggested this place a few weeks ago, since we all(spouse, daughter, son and girlfriend) agreed it was good, we have gone back a few times and .so glad we have; this place has the best table side guacamole, chips, salsa and bean dip… green chicken tamales(made fresh daily) enchiladas… etc. The food is authentic, moderately priced, fresh and above all… delicioso…(take my word, I’m Hispanic) Watch out Barragans… The waiters are very attentive and friendly. My husband & I were going to share a combo,; when it arrived, the waiter had already split it up onto two plates for us! this is service!!! Great way to have a Fathers Day Dinner and watch the NBA game!!!

The service is excellent. I had the table side guacamole it was delicious. I couldn’t find Chili Colorado on the menu, but they do make it. And it is off the hook! It’s kind of sweet ands bit spicy, which is good in my opinion. The rice is fluffy perfectly cooked. I highly recommend this place. I do feel bad though I was just going to get a juice tonight, but I got sucked in by all the reviews…

2 thumbs up. *Warning*- this post is provided by a Latina woman that knows what great beans & rice SHOULD taste like and this place knocked it out the ball park. This was my first visit here, and I was very impressed with several things. –servers are very attentive and very personable, even on a busy Friday night. –food came out very quickly, given the amount of parties seated. –food was very authentic, I can tell the beans were homemade and fresh, the guacamole was delicious and freshly made at your table –alcoholic beverages… YUM. Try the Cucumber Margarita, refreshing. I will definitely come back here and possibly do some karaōke, just need to freshen up those vocals…

I was taking a class across the street from this restaurant so on my break time I decided to get a quick bite. Nice and cozy place and what’s important that this place is not a corporate food place(I am a local business supporter) They have very good food and amazing service

I’ve been driving past this place for way too long! Finally stopped in today and was BLOWNAWAY. Parking was a breeze during my lunch hour(12noon). I was greeted by the warm staff and sat at the bar. Within minutes the place got packed for the lunch break. We started with: Chips salsa and bean dip(complimentary) and they were Delicious! Cucumber Spicy Margaritas. Chunks of cucumber and tajin around the rim(AMAZING) Chicken Suiza Enchiladas with rice– DROOL!!! The green salsa was finger licking good. It also had a kick to it but not super spicy. Rice was fluffy and it gets my Mexican stamp of approval My friend ordered the Carna asada plate with red enchiladas and the meat was full of flavor. Our waitress Diana was so attentive to us, gave us menu recommendations and was on top of her A game. Place had great music going on and i cant wait to be back!!.

Food is good but the servers think new customers are blind. I got charged full price for something during happy hour and it wasn’t even busy so there’s no way it was an accident. I bought two items and for one of them I got charged the lunch special price instead of happy hour. The other item full price, if you come here for the first time, check your receipt. I didn’t even complain, I rather have them loose my business over $ 4 then me come back. I’ll try the Baja taco place down the street next time. I will not be returning.

So glad I finally got to try Los Amigos. Mexican food is my weakness and I had been wanting to try this place for a while. Everything with our experience was great. Great service, great food, great ambiance. I could go on. Started us off with the chips, salsa and bean dip. totally overdosed on those. The chips were warm and fresh. For my entrée I had the steak and shrimp fajitas. Came with corn/flower tortillas and a side of beans and Spanish rice. Loved it! Great flavoring and very filling. My boyfriend got the carne asada plate, which came with rice, beans and an enchilada. He enjoyed it very much. We came here on a weeknight so the place was pretty quiet. I guess the place is more upbeat and lively on nights and weekends. They have karaōke some evenings. I am planning on coming back soon!

Good Mexican food. Although be warned: 1) the margaritas are premixed, yuck. 2) the mole sauce is super sweet, double yuck 3) the fried ice cream is awful — yuck yuck yuck. Other than that, the fajitas are great. The beers are cheap on happy hour and the salsa and chips is fantastic. Order wisely — stay away from the few misses — and your trip here will be great.

I’ve been to Los Amigos a few times in the past and have always found the experience to be well worth the visit. I’ve normally dined either for a late lunch or early dinner so can’t say what it’s like later on the evening but I’ve always enjoyed meals there. Food: I’m a big fan of the table side guacamole dish. Fresh, generous portion, and tailored to your liking. On a prior visit they even turned down my order because they felt that the avocados were under ripe, that goes a lot in speaking toward the quality and pride in their dishes. This time we ordered the carnitas plate and the grilled shrimp fajita salad bowl. The grilled shrimp and veggies where brought sizzling to the table side then added to the other salad ingredients and tossed. Very tasty, large shrimps, salad is served warmed and the lettuce wilts a bit under the heat but very good. Carnitas plate served with a generous portion of pork served with rice and beans and a side of warmed tortilla wrappers. Service: Great service at Los Amigos. Attentive, quick, top notch servers. They continually checked on our table to make sure we had what we needed and that our dishes were to our liking. Atmosphere: Loved the place, mixture of booths, bar seating and outdoor patio seating. Clean, spacious, with plenty of street parking or a private lot across the street. Value: Good value across the board, since we were having a late lunch we were able to take advantage of their happy hour margarita special. Overall: My third visit here and definitely not my last. We aren’t in the area very often but when we are I like to schedule a stop here.

First time here. I enjoyed it. The fresh made guacamole was made table side to spec. It was really delicious. I ordered the burrito Della Casa with chicken. Flavor was somewhat bland and not very hot. The food came very very quickly so I suspect it was already made and assembled. Maybe the temperature was lukewarm. But it was fine. I enjoyed it and will come back for sure.

This place has such delicious food! And The atmosphere is really sweet, it’s on really lovely, cozy corner on Olive in Burbank. This is a wonderful place to have a happy hour drink and dinner. I had much fun at their Cinco de Mayo fiesta. Our table shared chicken, steak and shrimp combo fajitas, with guac, chips and yummy salsa, flour tortillas, mashed plantains, beans and sour cream. It was a delicious feast! I also had one of their Raspberry Tequila cocktails with Tajin around the rim of the glass, so delicious! I’ll be back for sure.

My boyfriend & I were in town, very hungry, didn’t know where a good place to eat was so we went on Unilocal & found that this spot had many positive reviews! Was an easy place to find! Right when we entered they had greeted us in the most friendly way & had us seated right away. They served us freshly made chips with delicious salsa & bean dip! The bathrooms were super clean! The entire restaurant was super clean! Just an over all clean place. You can tell they take care of the restaurant real well. My boyfriend wanted chilaquiles & it wasn’t on the menu & right away they were willing to still make them! I ordered 2 carne Asada tacos & beans & rice. The service was so fast, we got our food within 10 minutes! The food look beautiful & tasted even better than it looked! Our waiter was so friendly & welcoming, he always made sure our cups were filled with water. & atleast all the waiters that were working even checked if we were okay with everything! All and all a very friendly environment, you feel welcomed right away. The food is AMAZING. We will definitely be coming back when we are in the area! HIGHLYRECOMMEND. Thank you!!!

What a great find! We were in the neighborhood on a Friday evening and were looking for a dinner spot. I found Los Amigos on Unilocal and it was just what we wanted! It’s a cute and colorful place with a small parking lot across the street. We were seated right away in a booth and were immediately brought water, chips, salsa and a bean dip. The bean dip DOES contain meat, so be aware of that if you’re a vegetarian. We had to start with the tableside guacamole, like everyone else in the restaurant. It was delicious. At first taste I thought maybe a little too much salt and lime, but very soon I was double scooping… it’s that fresh and good. A must — and for $ 8.49, an absolute bargain. For mains, she went with the Enchiladas Rancheras(made with cheese, natch), which she deemed to be excellent. I made a mistake and got a little ambitious… I ordered the Camarones Costa Azul — shrimp stuffed with crabmeat and cheese, wrapped in bacon and served on a plate of french fries. Yes — all that. I have had this dish before and it’s a favorite. This wasn’t the highlight of the meal… the shrimp were over fried and I didn’t taste a bit of the stuffing inside. But I blame myself because really, at a place like Los Amigos, I should have known to go with my usual«gloppy combo plate». Those looked freakin delicious. So the shrimp dish wasn’t awful, but I regret not getting one of those giant combo plates. Next time. The service was outstanding. Everyone was so happy, friendly and efficient. We felt like regulars and it was our first time. If we lived in Burbank, we most certainly WOULD be regulars. We really liked this place and highly recommend it for a good casual meal.

Old school Mexican restaurant in Burbank. Checked it out with the family last Friday en route between the Valley and DTLA. Wanted to avoid the downtown traffic as long as possible. Getting to Los Amigos was relatively painless on the freeways. They do have their own private parking lot across the street from the restaurant. However, there was car window glass shattered over several spaces. Lends worry to whether someone was smashing windows to snatch valuables? Interior atmosphere was colorful and bright, if on the aging side. We called ahead for a table to seat six, and they were ready for us. Salsa too hot for my comfort level. Tableside freshly made guacamole was a delicious treat. Came out perfectly! My enchilada combo was okay, but not special, in the flavor department. Tasted better the second day as leftovers when the flavors had developed upon second heating. Initially, service was attentive, but slacked off later in the meal when we were searching for a few extra items. Still, better than many places these days. Adequate, but could use a bit of freshening on the interior design and also a lighter hand in the kitchen for menu item preparations.

The ambience is nice and set back. Although I wasn’t very much a fan of the tacos along with the chips and salsa. The salsa seemed like it was out from a can just because it had no texture. Tacos were made quite different with no excitement within the taste factor.

I love their fajita salad so I went again(real fajita mix with lettuce). I went by myself this time and there weren’t many people, the server treated me like family. We went back with a group of friends recently & actually I forgot how good this place is. The food was so delicious, the service was excellent. Ordered a few table side made guacamoles to start, killer. The margaritas were excellent. And a few of our friends just couldn’t resist singing during their open karaōke, they had the latest songs and a huge selection we were really impressed. Some good Mexican food here! New to the area and have already been back a few times. Only thing I don’t really like is the sports bar feel it has sometimes with some game of some sort on the TV, even when we sit in the non-bar area. But great staff, always friendly! Get the fried ice cream!

Sorry to report being disappointed… went in with 4 ½ star rating expectations. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is due to the very friendly & attentive service. The table side guacamole was decent. The chips & salsa were ok at best. At least the salsa had a kick. The food was barely ok.(veggie fajitas & a burrito were ordered). Rice was kind of dry. No over the top yum flavor reactions. Boring/yawn/mediocre The cocktails were mostly terrible. The jalapeño margarita was the best of the 3 we tried. Not too sweet at all and had a nice kick. The skinny margarita tasted way too tart. Just tasted the lime juice. The banana margarita was horrid. Tasted like it was squeezed out of a frozen store bought pre-mixed frozen drink packet or one of those automated frozen drink machines. If you don’t mind all that, the place was nice and service was super friendly. Won’t be going back. :(

Sorry folks, another disappointment. With a 4 ½ star rating. I was expecting my meal to be phenomenal. I walked away with just an average tasting meal. Fish Tacos-Two tacos served with a single corn tortilla for each taco. The fish was 2 ½″ in length and ½″ x 3/8″ in width & height. Rice-Portion was very stingy. Approximately ½ cup of rice. Beans-Portion was also about ½ cup of refried beans. Cost-$ 12.99 for a very average meager meal. Complimentary Chips & Salsa-The Salsa was excellent! Service-Excellent Parking-Private lot across the street. The lot was unlighted and very dark. Street parking available. There was no reason for them to be so stingy with the rice & beans. Especially with such small portions of fish.

SUSTENTOAHORAPORFAVOR!!! Having melted through seven luscious creameries on day three of an LA Ice Cream Crawl, cohort and I were in the need of a hearty meal. Mexican food seemed to be a good idea. Free street parking was effortless, as this restaurant sits on the corner of W. Olive Ave. and N. Catalina, far enough away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Burbank. Roomy interior with Spanish décor, bar to the right of us, restaurant seating to the left of us, and customers singing karaōke in front of us. The scent of Spanish spices simmering in the skillets smelled spectacularly superb. We were definitely not in a creamery anymore. We were greeted and seated immediately complimentary warm and fresh chips and salsa were brought to our table, which were consumed quickly while we looked over the menu. ORDERED: How do you satisfy«armed with an appetite and not afraid to use it» Spanish Island boy and cohort, lover all things consumable? Give him a tasty and refreshing blended mango margarita. Just the right amount of booze to tickle the throat and mango to make the taste buds do the tango, oh yeah, he was smiling from ear-to-ear. Carbonated caffeine is what my taste buds were calling for. Sipping’ and Dippin’, cohort and I enjoyed our beverages, warm, crispy chips, and fresh blend of tomatoes, onions, cilantro salsa, with a kick. If my intake of food for the day wasn’t just ice cream, I would have been a very happy girl to grub on their chips & salsa. Very similar to what my «mother» from Mexico always has available. Carnitas, my staple when it comes to Mexican food. Again, stems from the homemade Mexican food I grew up consuming. Marinated pork cooked to perfection. Served with Mexican style rice, avocados and black beans. Here’s where the weda in me comes out. I grab a warm flour tortilla and fill it with a mound of crispy crunchiness on the outside, flavorfully juicy on the inside carnitas, add some pico de gallo, and top it off with a slice of avocado. Then simply rolled it up like a burrito. Mmmm!!! So much goodness all wrapped up ready to be devoured. And it was. Chile Verde for cohort. Prepared with tender cooked pork in tomatillo sauce and served with Mexican style rice and black beans, fully flavored with all things Spanish, satisfied cohort’s insatiable appetite. Well, momentarily at least. IN A SOMBRERO: Parking, not bad at all at the time of our visit. Service was good, very attentive and friendly. We were warmly greeted and seated promptly. Food orders were taken and delivered quickly and without issue. Beverage glasses were tended to often, taste buds enjoyed the change of textures and flavors of this Mexican eatery.

The staff is very friendly & helpful. I went on the night of my birthday & they were very happy to make sure I had a great time. The mariachi band came out & sang to me, put a sombrero on my head & light a candle in my churro dessert. It wasn’t a very popular or packed restaurant & the food wasn’t anything special to me. It was still good, just your normal options at a Mexican restaurant. I still had a great time & appreciated their enthusiasm.

More like 3.5 stars, but I’ll bump it up. I went here for happy hour with a friend and we both enjoyed the food. HH is from 2 – 7(or maybe until 6?). Appetizers are $ 3 off, and margaritas are strong as hell and $ 5. Everything was good, nothing was too notable though, except that their complimentary chips and salsa come with a side of refried beans? Also, service was great.

This is, hands down, our favorite Mexican spot to hit up in the valley. And I think a lot of it has to do with the new owner, Cruz. He is always there, always smiling and seems to be friendly with all of his customers. He has a great personality and remembers all of his customers. He definitely makes you feel like family, and I truly appreciate the great customer service that accompanies his charisma. Now, the food. The food is tasty across the menu. You cannot go to Los Amigos without getting the table side guacamole made to your liking and the *drumroll* … Heaven stuffed churros with ice cream!!! I’m actually salivating while writing this review. This blissful dessert is 4 churro pieces stuffed with your choice(I always choose both, they’re both phenomenal) of 2 different custards and is served with ice cream. And, I don’t know who created this dessert but I want to kiss them! Seriously. Get the churros. Now I have to end this review and go get some churros.

The food was better than acceptable but not a home run by any means. However, what they did hit out of the park was friendliness and excellent service. Hence the 5 stars. I had the Chicken & Shrimp Fajitas. 4 small shrimp and one okay size steak. The food was fresh but not the expected portion. The taste was great –just wish there was more. My colleague had Enchiladas Verde, which he said he was impressed with the Verde Sauce. He felt there was a lot of care put into the preparation of his dish. He did not like the chips but I did. Our server Rafael was attentive and friendly but not overbearing. The table side guacamole needs help, namely they need a better looking prep table than a stainless food cart… On a final note, they offered us a huge booth because the restaurant was not full(as it should be). We did manage to escape as the karaōke was starting(um they need to shut off the music while doing karaōke). Lol. If you like karaōke –the this place might very well satisfy your need.

Being from the Midwest; land of Mexican restaurants with never ending bowls of chips & salsa, menus with hundreds of items and colorful friendly atmosphere– we were losing hope that we would ever find an establishment like this in the southland. We stumbled upon Los Amigos and decided to give it a try. I went in very cautious, as we have tried so many places hoping for a taste of the places back home and left disappointed. But for the first time in almost 4 years– I felt transportated home. We were greeted to a table with chips & salsa(which was flavorful & hot) and instead of a short one sided menu, there was page after page of options! :) I chose the lunch quesadilla & my husband the tacos. The food was beautifully presented, with a cute red corn chip on top of each plate. Digging into his rice, my husband said this was best plate of rice he had in years. It was flavorful, moist & delicious. The quesadilla did not disappoint juicy chicken, melted cheese– it was fantastic. Our service was perfect, very personable staff attended us with drink refills and menu suggestions. This is our new favorite place to come to for a taste of home. Glad we stumbled upon it.
