One of the several nice features of Bob Hope Airport is this bar, which is PAST security. It’s particularly pleasant because as a secondary airport BUR has a lot of commuter flights with frequent delays. Service is generally good & they have a nice selection of draft beers. Also sushi, chips, salads, & panini – all more or less pre-prepared, but better than you might expect in a smaller airport. And the whole airport has free wifi courtesy of ABC-7.

The frozen drink machines sit empty. The liquor bottles appear a little dusty. But for $ 8.50 you can get a 22oz draft beer(Newcastle on draft at the Airport! How classy!) The place is tiny but there is a little counter and the bar to sit at, so usually there is room. The bartender doesn’t always hang out there but wanders around, so sometimes it’s a bit of a wait on your drinks. NOTE — Whatever you do, don’t eat at the CHEZZBURGER across the way before take-off. You’ll regret it at 30,000 feet.

Motherfu – ! My @#$!*& Southwest flight is delayed again! Inclement weather, my ass. Luckily, this little hole-in-the wall bar at the end of Burbank Airport(aka Bob Hope Airport) near Gate 5 is there to calm my nerves. They make strong, cheap drinks here. And it’s a good thing that not too many people know about this place — since it’s so tiny that more than a dozen people would be a crowd — forcing you to bring your G-and-T’s passed the imaginary demarcation line that separates the rest of the airport from the degenerates(e.g. me). The downside tho is that the bar closes early(something obscene, like 8p). But that’s okay b/c the service is on point. Thank you, Paradise.
