I discovered Prizzi’s when a friend chose it for his birthday dinner. He used to go when it was on Franklin in Hollywood. I’m so glad it’s here in Toluca Lake/Burbank area. Since we have discovered it, we go several times per month. My favorites: The pumpkin/squash ravioli with creamy sage sauce. SO delicious. The filet mignon with the creamy Gorgonzola sauce. Caesar salad with a great Caesar dressing Breadsticks covered with olive oil, garlic, & Parmesan cheese(or is it Romano? Delicious.) The pizza I had was good(haven’t tried deep dish yet) The décor is interesting with its out of place Ben & Jerry-inspired paintings… But the staff is great & service superb!

Happy hour is 4−8pm. Good selection of beers on draught here along with more Chimay than you will find at most establishments. The deep dish pizza is a must try for any deep dish fan. It’s excellent. Good happy hour menu for food as well including sliders that are pretty good. The garlic knots are very good as well. Closes at 10pm though. What?

Ikea brought me out to Burbank when I was searching for a new couch. After a couple hours I still hadn’t made a decision. I decided to go to dinner and mull things over. Pizza was on my mind but my go-to deep dish place(Masa) was too far away. After a Unilocal search I came across Prizzi’s and the pics from Unilocal looked good enough for me. We stopped by just as they were opening so we were able to choose our seats. One benefit of going early is that our waiter Brian(also a fellow Unilocaler) was incredibly attentive. Our drinks were always filled and asking for extras were never an issue. I liked(not loved) the deep dish we ordered. The crust was cooked well but lacked a little flavor. The toppings were yummy and I really like the finely ground sausage. My lady had the capra gamberi pasta, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Just enough kick to compliment the creamy sauce. The winner of the dinner though were the freshly baked bread sticks! Fresh parmesan and garlic was so good we were sopping up the residue on the plate. It’s tough to compare any deep dish with Masa of Echo Park but Prizzi’s version isn’t bad. I definitely would return to Prizzi’s for the deep dish especially since it’s 30 minutes closer to my house.

Being from Chicago, the chances of coming across good pizza out here is like finding a $ 1000 bill on the sidewalk. Well. I definitely saw it and picked it up, but it was fake! It looks great but lacked in some of the essentials. The thing that makes Chicago pizza great is not the fact that they have a 1 inch crust. It’s the tall sides in the deep dish that is filled with all the goodies. The pizza at Prizzy’s, while looking the part, is not bad at all, as it is nearly impossible to get a «bad» pizza anywhere, but it is not nearly up to par with the real stuff from Chi-town. Crust is too thick and not enough sauce and there can never be too much cheese(in my book, anyway.) Aside from the pizza, I also had the fettuccine alla carbonara with chicken and this was some of the best pasta I’ve ever had! Very rich and tasty! All in all. Pasta — Very good; Pizza — eh… The place is very expensive for the food they are serving as well. The dining area should have carpeting as well. Seems a little like a cafeteria when you’re sitting at a table or booth. Service was actually very good as well!

My girlfriend and I decided to try Prizzi’s for a casual date night. We should have seen the signs right away when the hostess coldly greeted us and rushed us to a table without another word(the place was not crowded at the time). Our waitress was decent but not extremely nice or fast. We ordered a couple martinis and a deep dish pizza, which was highly endorsed by our server. The martinis arrived with little pieces of ice floating in them, which is not cool, but otherwise they were pretty good. The pizza arrived about 25 minutes later, looking amazing, but when we took our first bites it was cold in the middle. We waited a long time for our server to come back and told her. When she brought it back to the cook he complained loudly enough that we could hear it at our table. When the pizza came back it was warm, a little burnt on the crust, but actually tasted really good. So, overall a pretty negative experience and we’re never going back but I have to admit their pizza dough is delicious, which is why they got two stars

Loved their old location next to UCB. Since they moved, have not been able to check them out as much as too far for me. But anytime I am in Burbank I try to drop in. Especially good place to check out before or after at show at the Falcon Theatre. Great pizza, very good Italian dishes. However especially love their Garlic breadsticks. They are out of this world! Great beer selection. Not a bad spot just to drop in for a few beers and some apps with friends! I hear it’s a great place for lunch, but personally love to go their for post work drinks. Only downside for me is I wish they were open later. Perfect hours for me would be midnight during the week, and 1 or 2am Friday and Saturday.

Fellow Unilocalers, 3 stars isn’t necessarily a poor review. The issue for me is the noise. This is a very loud space(1:00pm on Thursday) with very walls and concrete floors. We could not hear each other at the table. That’s a big issue for me, and would restrict coming here during busy hours. On the bright side, the management is good, as is the service. However, the food is mediocre. The salad was way overdressed, the meatballs tough, and the deep dish pizza sloppy. Although they seem to use fresh ingredients, the sauce is under seasoned. Parking in the building is good, and they give a generous 90 minute validation. A few missteps, but the restaurant may be worth a try for some of my fellow Unilocalers.

Fabulous Experience, and late night dining! Living in Burbank, there are not too many options for dinner after 10 pm, even on a Friday. Luckily, I checked Unilocal and found that Prizzi’s is usually open til about midnight, and we’d always wanted to try it, so last night was the night! First off, let me say that the server named Rob is very nice and very helpful. He made sure that we were going to enjoy our first visit to the fullest. His manager should be very happy, as just his service alone will be bringing us back again. He earned a better tip by bringing us out one of their famous garlic stix as well… we will be ordering some of those the next time ’round! But the food was surprisingly good, based on some of the reviews I had read. I found it classically tasty and almost perfect. We ordered traditional fare and were very pleased. From the lightly breaded calamari fritti(so very soft; best I have had in awhile), a solid pollo picatta and generous portion of spaghetti and meatballs, to the amazing Tiramisu that had the perfect blend of liquer soaked lady fingers and the lightest of cream fillings, we enjoyed our gastronomic adventure at Prizzi’s very much. The wine, beer and cocktail selection is very nice as well. My husband enjoyed choosing a nice beer from their widely varied listing of draft options, while I had a very delicious and refreshing Cucumber Fizz with Hendrick’s Gin. Yummy! The décor is dark and simple which was relaxing after a long day at work, and the music playing was nice and at a good volume. The only thing that takes away from the feel of the room away is the large flatscreen TV in the bar area, but it’s hard to find a restaurant these days that doesn’t have one. After our longtime favorite neighborhood Italian restaurant changed ownership and menus(Vitello’s in Studio City), we have been on the lookout for a new restaurant to take it’s place… Prizzi’s is looking like a contender. Looking forward to trying some of the inventive dishes they have on the menu, along with the pizza, of course! Mangia!

The lasagna here is pretty amazing. I loved the flavor. It looks small at first but once you start eating, it becomes really filling. The sauce had a really nice flavor; tasted kinda sweet but savory and it was light. The bread sticks were covered with parmesan and olive oil and garlic… damn, that was delicious! I love the sauteed calamari! It was fantastic! Not the usual fried calamari, it was a lot better. It was nice and tender and not chewy at all. The spicy marinara made it a lot better and especially with the squeeze of lemon on top… I’m salivating at the thought of it… This place is really good. It used to be located in Hollywood on Franklin, but they closed and moved to Burbank. I would go back for more when I am in the area. The waiter and waitress were really nice and helpful too. Good place to nom nom nom.

Whoa! It’s Chicago-Style pizza in the San Fernando Valley! YAY! Thumbs up indeed! :) I loved the taste of the Chicago-Style Meat Lover’s pizza. We actually did half meat lover’s and half veggie lover’s. It’s not Lou Malnati’s, but I would definitely come back. I came here around today around 3pm on a Wednesday and there was not a soul in sight. My best friend and I ended up being the only patrons in there. Now, I’m not really sure what the gripes are about the service and staff because I didn’t encounter ANY problems. Everyone was friendly, accommodating, and attentive. Although, I don’t know if that will change if we weren’t the only ones there. LOL :) I wanted to do thew lunch special but when I found out it wasn’t deep dish pizza then I passed. We ordered just the pizza, which comes with a total of 6 hearty slices costing $ 24. With tax and tip it came out to $ 30. Not bad, because i definitely came home with left overs. :) Now on to the next thing to try… Mmmm, happy hour, panini sandwiches, pasta, etc. LOL

Lunch special– slice of cheese pizza, salad, 16oz soda. With tax and tip-$ 10. Staff and location are OK. Slice, too dry and kinda small in size. Salad small. Maybe a whole pie is better. I’m always amazed when so much money goes into decorating and staff, then the food is poor.

If you read my review of Prizzi’s Piazza, their former location, you’ll notice that I would have eaten there every night if I could have. This newer location disappoints. The menu has some improvements and some classics — for the love of god, get the garlic stix, they are to die for! The dim lighting and abstract paintings are gone and replaced by bright industrial décor and vibrant flowery paintings. The atmosphere is now«family friendly» as opposed to romantic. The service here pales in comparison to the worst server at the old location. Slow and slower, even when I’ve ordered to go. The layout and décor are no longer appealing. Tragic, the old one was SO much better! New menu addition I love is the Mista salad. Light and yummy!

I generally never give a one star review because I tend to think there’s always something redeeming about a restaurant or event, however that’s not the case with Prizzi’s. Located at the corner of the parking structure for the Burbank Centre, Prizzi’s is well suited for the studio lunch crowd and a convenient place to meet up for happy hour or after works drinks. With that said, they have gone out of their way to make this as inconvenient of a place as possible for the studio crowd. First of all, it’s menu is priced way above everything in the surrounding area and for the type of food and the type of service, I think they’ve done themselves a disservice. Sure, they want to compete with McCormick’s & Schmick’s and Arnie Morton’s, but those places are also serving the high end items that’s worth their price point. Prizzi’s is serving standard Italian fare, pizzas, pastas, antipasto, etc… The majority of the lunch crowd won’t be able to afford the price points they’re putting out. Second, the food is lacking that«wow» factor that these other high end restaurants are providing. I paid $ 16.50 for a Chicken Caesar Salad, which basically consisted of iceberg lettuce, 5 croutons and a over cooked spiced-grilled chicken patty that was julienne into uneven strips. I’m sorry, but for $ 16.50, I would expect better greens, a properly cooked chicken, fresh shaved cheese and real homemade dressing, done the traditional way… not this out of the can taste that their dressing tasted like. For half the price, you can walk across the street to Salerno’s Via Dolce and get the same salad and with a properly cooked chicken. Finally, this restaurant just wasn’t conceived well and executed well. For a place that’s catering to a lunch and after work crowd, to have brushed concrete floors is the absolute worst. I came in here for drinks once in when the only people in the space were the staff and the people sitting at the bar, it was impossible to hear each other talk. The happy hour prices are what its normal prices should be… perhaps that’s why they priced it that way. Instead of turning the lighting down, they managed to turn the lighting up. That’s a first for me and overall it just wasn’t a pleasing experience for me. I think they really missed the point on this one, but perhaps a few changes in pricing and better execution in the kitchen can turn this place around.

The little lady and I left Prizzi’s with perma grin and flapping jaws which could not stop complimenting the meal we had just eaten, the excellent staff and how happy we were to have had such a wonderful experience of food. Assbackward review. For dessert we had to try the breadsticks which were perfectly twisted, flakey, crisp, yet gooey and fluffy, dusted with a heap of parmesan, resting in a light pool of butter and the wonderful aroma of garlic overload. They scream the words, «kiss me honey, but hold your breath and keep your mouth closed». On to the previous course, Chicago style deep dish pizza. The veggie lovers came to our table as our mouths watered while slices were transferred to our plates, the suspense was killing us, was this going to be a «Chicago» pie or not. Yes. Yes. Yes. The pie is a fork and knife, built like a Chicago, tangy but not overwhelming or acidic sauce on top, fresh veggies baked to perfection inside, gooey cheese, crisp crust on the outside and chewy on the in with the added sesame that really makes the tastes of all the flavors pop. Yes. Yes. Yes. Prizzy’s salad was quite tasty, although I thought there was a bit too much basil, the other ingredients helped me out with the basil flavor storm. Perfectly dressed with a vinegarette, the olives were robust, crisp cucumber, sweet Roma tomatoes and the bite of scallion. The wait staff was terrific, water was always filled, food served timely, smiles and fun times. We had the chance to meet the owner, great guy btw, and we complimented generously of the meal. The little lady and I will definitely be back to try other dishes, but secretly I am going back for the pie. Yum.

I really hoped that this was going to be our new Pizza place. Very disappointed. We came here maybe 3 weeks after they opened. The staff was very friendly. The place is very modern and nice. BUT we werent in love with the food… I think we were expecting some amazing, flavor-packed, deep dish pizza… My feeling was just meh. The crust was ok, the sauce was ok, the toppings were ok.(You get the idea) The bread sticks were on everyone’s radar BUUUUT they didnt really thrill me. Drenched in garlic and butter but not the best. Wanted it to be Great but I dont think I’ll be back.

What started as an «exciting» good thing has now slid all the way to. Nexxxxxxt! Today makes the final strike. Service is slow. Prices are not consistent and quality… who cannot get their sauce right? Today’s ravioli sauce was so tart it seemed like I was drinking vinegar at times. The lunch portion is a joke, I got three. It’s in a great spot, has allllll the local business traffic to serve and it’s a straight miss. Nice décor… beautiful, but wayyyyy too noisy that you find yourself shouting to your lunch mate. Wishing the affair didn’t have to be over since they are local… but there’s no incentive to continue the disappointment.

I was swept off my feet by how good this restaurant is. My blondie twin raved about how great it is. Walking in, it looked pretty casual. The servers were very attentive. Pumpkin Ravioli — My friend was crazy about this dish because she was a vegan. The filling was sweet and had a creamy sauce. If u like sweet then this dish is for u. Garlic bread — Bread was soft and chewy. Garlicky and cheesy goodness. Probably the best garlic bread I’ve had yet. Squid ink pasta with seafood — This was delicious!!! The sauce was so tasty with seafood fragrant. Squid ink pasta was just pasta but at least i know it was handmade.

I have to admit when I came here on 8⁄18 and was not blown away. I came here for what I thought would be a quick lunch during their soft-opening. Everything was in place. Parking was nearby and easy(they validate it for you for 2 hours worth) and the restaurant was setup. The inside had me thinking I was in a bar for a second, then I noticed that it was fancier than I expected. But nothing felt really«welcoming» for lunch. Black and white bleakness, little color around me, random art that has nothing to do with the theme(I think I saw a buddha?). Still I took my seat and placed my order. Two chicken pesto sandwiches. Easy enough? Apparently not. I was told there was a backup in their system and I patiently waited for my food. The waiters felt a bit embarrassed and brought us breadsticks while I waited. Finally after about 1.25 hours the manager came by and handed us our meals and told us he would feel bad if we paid. I was understanding of the situation, stuff happens and you deal with it. So yes. I was very grateful for his gesture and I left in a hurry knowing I still had a ton of work left at the office. I ate my sandwich a bit later. The garlic fries weren’t bad but the sandwich was a bit bland and chicken too chewy. I wasn’t going to complain anymore so I just ate it. Overall I’d have to come back to this place to really give it a fair rating. From what I tasted it was just«meh» and probably a bit overpriced. Still the manager’s gesture and the amicable staff made their worries less stressful on me so I’m being fair. Also I’d like to point out most of the 1 star reviews here are based on the service and hover around the same date as I went so it’s not completely accurate.

Just tried this restaurant out in it’s newly opened location, what a disappointment! It took almost 40 minutes to get a burned piece of pizza and a side salad that was clearly from a bag of wilted lettuce you can buy in the grocery store topped with tasteless Italian dressing. My lunch companion got a pesto pannini with no pesto on it. Also restaurant has no sound baffling, it was so loud I couldn’t hear myself think. Don’t waste your time go to Reno’s or Salerno’s both within a block of this place if you are looking for Italian food in the neighborhood.
