Surprised to find new coffee shops on magnolia in Burbank. The décor was impressive. I came here on a Sunday and it was packed. Air con was not working well. I ordered a chai latte, a large cappuccino and a spinach salad. The latte was average. I don’t know about the cappuccino because my friend drank it. We shared the salad. Balsamic/dressing had no flavor. Cheese was skimpy. I’ve made better at home for under $ 12 bucks I stood at the counter for 10 minutes before I was asked if I wanted to order. Waitress just dropped the food abruptly. I couldn’t get an extra plate and ended up asking the bus boy. This place is not Asian friendly. Staff is not from LA. Not coming back

The interior design is «1990’s hair salon». The coffee was meh. $ 29 for 2 breakfast burritos and 2 coffees. Need I say more? Oh, crap service and no parking. Simply Coffee, Portos, Corner Cottage, Lancers, Corral Café all own this place.

This is my favorite café! I love coming here to write and hang out. I highly recommend their Chai Latte and Earl Grey Crème. They use Groundworks Coffee, which is really good. If you’re in the mood for a juice, their cleanser with carrots, beets, lemon and ginger is delicious. Want a smoothie? Try their gym rat! I like to get it with peanut butter(because I’m obsessed with pb). As far as food goes, I don’t think I’ve had anything I didn’t like. My favorites are the Italian Chopped and the apples and brie sandwich. Also, their breakfast burrito is really tasty and quite filling. Their WiFi goes off between 12 – 3, just to give you a heads up. Residential parking is available around the corner.

So-so coffee, decent goodies, and boring run of the mill customer service. The only good thing is there’s espresso and room to sit on wifi-most of the time. I regularly see family in town and work as barista in Oregon myself, I’m no bubbly romancer but I can at least pour a cappuccino and understand how to proved a polished experience. I don’t want the review to come bitter, there’s just better places to go in town. It’s another overdone coffee shop in media town. Tables are never clean the whole week I’ve gone on to work on my computer and that’s really the only reason to stop by. I have found better in the area.

I love this place so much! I’m moving out of Burbank and this is one spot that I am going to painfully miss. I remember when it first opened. It was such a wonderful addition to Magnolia Village. Atmosphere is enchanting and the coffee and food is fantastic. My personal fave’s are the Blueberry Gourmet Poptarts and LAVENDARCAPPUCCINO! AmAZinG! The workers are sweet and it’s just an all around lovely little spot in Burbank. I’m sad I’m leaving Oh also the Chicken Curry Sandwich is out of this world! When I come back to visit Burbank I will definitely stop by Romancing!

Really delicious ice blended mocha in large, and I sat outside to take in the beautiful morning! I also ordered the cocoa oatmeal, but it was too hot, dry, and perhaps sweet for me with all the syrup I put in it, coconut shavings. Very healthy but I don’t think I can order it again because I didn’t finish it. It was quite expensive too for $ 8, so not too sure I will have breakfast here again. But as for the drink, it was yummy and from the first sip, it just hit the spot. I think I am going to order it regularly whenever I am in the area and in need of a good ice blended mocha. Service is exceptional. They accidentally brought me a hot mocha and when I told them, they corrected it immediately and also cleaned the table in the front of the café, so I had a place to sit. Lovely place to study. Thank God I brought my book with me to take in the sun.

Great atmosphere and design. There’s ample seating and plenty of space. The food and beverage selection is nice and varied. I had their chicken curry sandwich which was quite delicious and came with a salad. They only had one kind of black tea which was slightly disappointing, but not the end of the world. The biggest downside is their policy of no wifi between 12:00 — 3:00. It’s probably because of the large lunchtime crowd, but it affected my plans to use my computer and work.

Not very happy with the worker’s attitude. They didn’t like me just sitting while I was waiting for my friend’s arrival. They gave me the ‘look’. My cappuccino was forgotten by the espresso machine, when I asked about my coffee, they found it not hot so they just added hot milk on top and served me. It was not cappuccino any more. Not going back.

Blaaaacccck and white! Did you play that game when you were young to choose teams? That’s what I think of now when I think of Romancing the Bean Café. The place is located close to the Burbank airport, which is why I stopped by. Never been and was craving some caffeine so while I waited for my sister to arrive, I drove down to the café. It is on a big street so you can’t miss it. Parking is available up the street so I suggest doing that. Ambiance felt very upscale hipster but also chic. You have dark, contemporary colors and large mirrors. As for the drinks, I went with the black and white, which if I remember correctly is white AND dark chocolate with a shot of espresso. I thoroughly enjoyed my drink. The chocolate was smooth and even though you can’t taste the difference in chocolates, it worked well with the espresso shot. The espresso shot wasn’t strong so it’s essentially a hot chocolate. I would’ve liked it hotter but it was ready to drink(I guess… that’s a plus). Will definitely be coming back to try the other drinks, the sandwiches, or the ice creams if I am in the area or waiting for someone to arrive from Burbank airport. So as for the 4 stars and not the five, I have to say the server wasn’t particularly friendly. He wasn’t mean but he also wasn’t service-oriented and I felt a bit rushed in getting an order in. Maybe it was a bad day or near closing time so I can let it slide but I hope it is just this one incident and isn’t a frequent occurrence.

I will say… I came here a few times and every single time I was disappointed in the lukewarm attitude the people that work here give off. Maybe it’s just unfortunate occurrence and coincidence for me but each time, just unhappy people who work here who just want you to pay and eat and go. Robots. They don’t really have much here if you need protein… So although from the outside it looks healthy, they don’t have chicken breast as a side for example, it’s very prosciutto(albeit delicious and fresh) and limited to the choices you have in the protein department. I will say, I fell in LOVE with a special they once had… This quinoa kale brussels sprouts dish with egg on top. The sauce was so good and so was EVERYTHING that was in it. I come in here once in a while hoping that that dish will pop up again but to no avail. That’s pretty much the only reason why I go back… In hopes… Pretty pricey for iced coffee. $ 5. Yo.

As an outsider to the LA Area, I was looking to find a great place to get my «Mocha» fix. After trying some other places around town I finally stumbled upon«Romancing the Bean Café». With an interesting name like«Romancing the Bean» I was immediately curious and interested in trying this place out. It has a very cool layout on the inside with easy viewing of the kitchen right in front of you. On to the reason I was there, the mocha… I ordered the large and oh my goodness it was HUGE… Sometimes when you go to a coffeehouse your drink can become lukewarm after just 5 minutes, but here it stayed scalding hot for a very long time. Drinking a very hot mocha is something I truly enjoy and props to R.T.B. for achieving this feat! Did I mention, that it’s huge? I was amped for the rest of the day. I also went went with a simple breakfast sandwich w/egg, white cheddar, and pancetta. It was delicious. Overall, R.T.B. is a bit pricey, but to me worth it. Quality coffee and awesome food. Next time I am in the Burbank area, I will make sure to try some of the other coffee drinks that others have raved about. Till next time!

Cutest café in Burbank! I’ve been here a handful of times(on a date, with a small group of friends, with a coworker); it’s an awesome little spot. The food: They have lots of great options, all fresh ingredients. Sandwiches, salads, wraps, juices, and of course, coffee and tea. Prices: It’s a tad pricey($ 14 for a kale salad, no protein), but it is delicious and good portions, it’s also on a great street(Magnolia), so I’d have to assume that the high rent in the area factored into their pricing. Ambiance: It feels like a café that was written about in a romantic novel… warm, cute, not a lot of seating(small bar, rows of two tops, plus one large communal table). It’s a great little day date spot(I’d know). I’ve had a great time each and every time I’ve come in… I hope you will too!

I got a weird vibe from this coffee shop! Maybe it was the way the place is set up? Maybe it was the black walls with the weird décor? Maybe it was the employees laughing/drinking coffee behind the counter. on the clock? **One thing i hate? Employees acting like their at home when their on the clock. Especially in front of a customer they are helping. My coffee was alright. The sweets looked delicious! I definitely wouldn’t want to sit inside because all that black paint and non matching décor. is energy draining. Coffee shops should be warm and inviting. I didn’t get that vibe here. Add brighter tones and wood accents with a lot of neutrals. Change up the seats :/ Thank You.

They are inconsiderate as hell in making sandwiches. I paid $ 10 for what they called their«ITALIANHERO» On the menu they list the ingredients, what they dont mention is that they barely put 1 slice of each ingredient. I got my sandwich and it was 95% bread. I couldnt even see the meat. Two baguette slices and barely anything in between. Jersey Mikes for 2⁄3 the price you get a nice hook up! This place is lame and they need to up their game, its not right to charge people $ 10 for a bread sandwich, they dont care to give you good service, their excuse is that it looks pretty inside, they just want your money. Might as well make a «BREADHERO» sandwich. Two slices a bread with some bread in between, they would probably charge $ 15 for that. I want my money back. Put more effort into your food, I could have put better use to that money, maybe feed a homeless person. My loss.

Nauseating smell in there like a neglected kitchen. I don’t know if it was a menu item that was cooked or the norm. I could barely wait on my drink it was so strong. Behind the counter was nasty dirty. Insanely unprofessional. Latte was very average. Some of the décor is cool but it doesn’t seem as cozy as it could be — there’s a lifeless atmosphere. The lighting is dull in an awkward closet way instead of mood setting way. Customer service was a bit rude like customers were an inconvenience. I asked for ice and got a hot drink. They fixed it quickly but the guy just slung milk out of a mixing cup on the floor to remix a new drink. I’ve never seen that anywhere before and am concerned he’d slip on it… Maybe they have grip flooring back there? I will not go there again.

Solid Burbank breakfast spot if you want something that isn’t a breakfast burrito or diner food. I had the lox bagel and was happy with it although bummed it didn’t come with tomatoes. Hoping that’s just cause they’re out of season? Also had the almond milk latte which was good but didn’t blow my mind. Prices are reasonable and there was plenty of seating and no wait on a Saturday morning which is nice.

Yes it is a bit pricey, but they have some of the best coffee ever! Located next to one of my favorite places to shop, I can’t help but stop in here every time I am in the area, i get cravings for their blended mocha and my husband loves their blended caramel, the quality is fantastic and it is made so well, sweet, but you still taste the coffee, it’s perfection on a hot day in the valley, which is always. Service is nice, they get pretty busy so there can be a bit of a wait, but there is plenty of seating and the décor is nice, slightly elegant, but simple, clean and great place to lounge and relax for a bit. No chance to try anything else on the menu yet, but all the food I see coming out of their open kitchen looks great, I’ll keep coming back for the mocha!

Suuuuuuuuuch a cute spot! Their food is just okay. I ordered their famous chicken curry sandwich. It’s good, but nothing insanely spectacular. If this is their famous sandwich, I’m not sure what to expect of the other sandwiches on their menu. Their mango clean smoothie however, was delicious… But $ 9 – 10 for one size which is really pricey. They also have a nice dessert/pastries section and we ended up trying a caramel brownie & a scoop of Madagascar vanilla bean ice cream. They were both good. Nothing here has wowed me though. This place is so cute, and a great place to grab coffee with someone(I haven’t tried their coffee though lol). Just a cute spot pretty much with okay pricey food. I can’t say this is a good place for lunch, but it’s worth visiting if you’re a local!!!

Wanted to get a nice coffee on this lovely Sunday afternoon while we were out and about. We stopped here due to the huge queue at Porto’s. We ordered 2 lattes, slightly expensive but decent sized cups. Sadly the lattes were very weak and didn’t taste of coffee and my wife said hers didn’t taste good either. For the price it should be much better! It’s a pretentious kind of place that is trying to be fancy. Quite an odd but comfortable place but with way too much wasted floor space. They also switch the wifi off between 12 – 3 which seems silly. Shame they didn’t have a happy hour like Republic of Pie then it wouldn’t have felt like such a waste of money. Had potential but failed us!

Romancing the Bean. A little gem in the Magnolia Park district of Burbank, they specialize in highly delicious coffee and tea drinks(as well as smoothies and delicious food), and everything I’ve ever tasted from them has been delicious. Their servers are always friendly and they often have special events like small bands playing for Ladies and Gent’s Night out, as well as other special events throughout the week. The owners are delightful people and strive their hardest to make sure that their store has the highest quality ingredients and people. I guess the easy way to put it is «I’m a fan».

This place is legit! I wish there were more seats, but it is what it is. Even the bathroom had this quaint little charm to it, and the«sign» behind the toilet made me giggle — basically telling you not to flush with your feet– which made me wonder how they knew people were doing this! Lol Anyhow, I had the PLT(oh, man… I can’t even. Please STOP and bring me another). A super grown up BLT. I love new/fancy twists on classics. I also had the green lemonade… I can’t even explain this. It was delicious! But in a totally unexpected way, that my tastebuds still can’t tell you about. I took a sip… Pulled the cup back and looked at it confused… «Say WHAT!?». No matter, I loved it… Again. I’ll have another. I’ll be back, even if it means I only have these two things again every. Single. Time!

Food is good but not worth the price. I think I paid like $ 16 for a little pressed sandwich. The atmosphere is the real winner here — the décor is charming and it’s a cute place to meet up with friends for an afternoon coffee. I’d go here more for a coffee with friends than I would for food.

The food is fine and the place is overall a cool, hip café. Very modern and clean. It’s good for the young Burbank scene. But here’s what got me — I just paid them $ 8 for a kombucha. Health-Ade Kombucha to be exact. It’s a 16 fluid ounce bottle. Are you kidding me? This irks me terribly because it is about HALF that price at Pavilions and even at this local grocer up the street on Magnolia called Full of Life. Okay, I will admit fault because I blindly let them swipe my card without even questioning the large cost in front of me. But then I finally came to my senses and realized how high my tab was. Even though the damage had been done, I asked a worker for the price of the kombucha and he told me that indeed one bottle of this kombucha is $ 8 at their establishment. Disbelief. The case with all the kombuchas doesn’t even have a price anywhere and the bottles don’t have a tag on them either. I only glanced at the menu so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that the price is on there(hopefully!). And yes, I get it — shame on me for assuming about the price and thus blindly purchasing the product. Listen, it doesn’t matter that this is kombucha, it could’ve been any good — it’s the principle at hand — if your customers feel like they’re being swindled, then wise up. Don’t be that business. This made me feel terrible as I had paid double the market value which I had seen at other establishments. I can’t justify coming back here when my sandwich that comes with a side salad costs 8.75 and then my kombucha costs 8 bucks. *And no, I am not accusing this establishment of being criminal and swindling — this is just how it made me feel(I am circumventing a response from this café saying — Sir, we do not swindle our customers etc etc — I get that).

Love it here! The atmosphere is great. The décor is adorable. I haven’t tried much of the food yet. But my latte and scone were delicious. It was like I walked into a café out of a movie set. It was bright and clean inside. The chairs so were comfortable, if I didn’t feel guilty for staying as long as I did, I would have sat there until closing! And the employees were so good looking(probably actors). I would come back for that reason alone. But my friends turkey panini looked delicious, so I’ll most likely be coming back to try that… And look at the workers.

This was my second visit to this establishment. The last time was last New Year’s Day. I’m not going to give a four-star rating, but if you want your espresso beverage hot, I would recommend requesting your drink, «extra hot». Sometimes, that’s the only way to guarantee a hot beverage on your table. They’re open on New Year’s. That’s good. The cappuccino was strong, the foam was decent, albeit the aforementioned tepidness. My companion felt that her latte was perfect. The quiche was good. Flaky crust. Nice ingredients. We got the bacon one. I will come back. Maybe next New Year…

I tried this darling little café twice! Once for breakfast, and once for a private event. I was invited to a private event, and wondered where it was & how I had missed this place for three years! So I decided to swing by a week before the event to check it out. And I was pleasantly surprised! Enchanting little place! I absolutely love it!!! Service is awesome. On a Sunday I asked for some changes on my order and they were so accommodating. But even if they weren’t I would have understood. But they did! The décor is NICE! Trendy with a touch of rustic– but posh ambiance. Yes, you will see it when you go and then will agree with me. Oh must try the cappuccino was delicious! Now for the private event– so well put together-, I was lucky to taste the chicken curry, a must. The salmon tartare with fresh dill, a must must! And in t he evening the décor was even lovelier, little mason jars were adorned by ranunculus and roses and some greens, bare trees lit inviting a second look. I met the charming young lady who had done some of the interior decorating — kudos to her and the chef/owner! Don’t forget to check out their bathroom! You can reserve the place for private evening events. Stop by — whether for a cup of coffee or for a sandwich. It’s like a trip to Europe for lunch and back!

The Service: It’s my pleasure to meet with the owner, Kerry, and her great team at her restaurant! She is so passionate about her business and her customers. Besides the good quality of food, great customer service is definitely the reason we want to go back again. The Food: All their coffee are organic. Fresh ingredient and lots of healthy food choices. Love their open kitchen, everything is made to order. My favorite is «Our Famous Chicken Curry»!! Super flavorful~ you can taste the curry but not overpowering. The chicken is very tender. Love it when they use walnut raisin bread for the sandwich. Highly recommended! I have tried their Italian Chopped Salad and Kale Salad, light dressing, great texture and all fresh ingredients. They also open for breakfast, will definitely go back & try their breakfast menu. The Parking: Street parking on Magnolia(1 hour), on the side streets(2 hours) and parking lot across street(behind the church)… all FREE!

While this place is super cute and hipster, it’s WAY overpriced. It’s absurd that a smoothie would be $ 8. I got the salmon tartare salad and it was $ 14 and it was TINYYYY. I mean it was delicious but took me like 6 minutes to eat. As far as the atmosphere goes, it’s really nice and chill. Average noise level. Outlets for doing work. Not sure if there’s wifi though.

Wanna getaway from the hustle & bustle and feel relaxed in a charming café with delicious food and also get your java fix? Romancing the Bean is it! It’s a great place to unwind with coffee with a friend or sig fig. The café has a charming french country décor with a modern twist. There’s more room inside than outside so you can get away from the valley heat. There’s also ample parking in the residential area nearby. Now on to the food! I tried the Famous Chicken Curry sandwich and it lives up to its name! I’ve had curry chicken sandwiches before(like at Coral Tree Café) and none of them comes close to the flavor profile of this sandwich. The meat was moist and the curry itself was flavorful. Also the savoriness of the chicken curry paired well with the sweetness of the walnut raisin bread. The side salad was good too in that it wasn’t dry(my pet peeve is when restaurants don’t put enough dressing). However, I would’ve wanted a bigger serving of a side salad but nonetheless, the sandwich quenched my appetite! Try it! You won’t be disappointed!

I cherish every moment spent in front of authentic coffee. I had plenty of such moments here at RTB. My drink of preference(read: I would kill for it) is a Cubano, which is The Drink of Kings when made in a La Marzocco espresso machine. Here at RTB, they won’t put raw sugar in the portable filter, probably because the company doing maintenance says it pits the screen. Nonsense! But I am flexible, as long as there’s something else interesting if not good. On this day, interesting and good were there in spades with an «Affogato,» a ristretto double over whipped cream with drizzled mocha and cinnamon. I forget the cost, but it was remarkable AND interesting AND good! Ristretto is a shorter pull… less water and more complex flavors. Added to whipped(normally sacrilegious) and some of that other stuff, it was a nice way to start off my day. I would not try it again, but I would come back to RTB over and over until I forgot I tried it and got excited to try it all over again.
