Zep’s Music Center

Ahh Zep’s Music Center. This place used to be my spot for all my music needs back when I lived in the Valley. Then I moved to the bay area and I missed it so. Then I moved back to LA, but on the westside this time, and I still miss it so. Sometimes I’ll visit one of my Valley friends, just so I have an excuse to go here for sax reeds.
If you are looking for wind instruments or wind accessories, this IS your place. The prices at Zep’s are pretty unbeatable, as far as music stores go, and the service here is exemplary. They’re friendly, helpful, and they know what they’re talking about, not to mention the fact that they aren’t trying to sell you anything you aren’t looking for (something the larger music store chains do that I can’t stand). I hear they also have great teachers here too. Yeah, Zep’s is awesome. :)

four stars for knowing what you’re talking about! rafael helped me to purchase a previously-​owned tenor saxophone yesterday and he was just right as a salesman. i want to sam ash to purchase a new sax a couple of weeks back and they were lame (will post on that soon).
anyway, you wanna come here just for woodwinds and brass. i got my sax for a pretty decent price. i check the product with my co-​worker ex-​pro tenor sax player on the quality and he confirms that my yamaha yts-​23 has «good action» in the keys. :-)

(but on a sad note, they’re concerned about their rents going up so might be closing in august… that’s after 45 years of service to pros and amateurs alike!)
