I’m in love with Berta’s. My husband and I stumbled upon this adorable place last July and we’ve made it a point to come back every time we visit the Finger Lakes. In fact, we came here twice in three days and already can’t wait to go back when we return to the area next month. Everything on the menu looks great but I can’t bring myself to order anything other than the breakfast taco and the grilled scone every single time. I literally can’t get enough of either of them. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. You won’t be sorry.

What a wonderful find! If we lived closer we’d be here every weekend! The food is simple but interesting. Not overly done up, but high quality, interestingly flavored home cooked dishes. We had breakfast and were delighted with the variety: eggs, pancakes, omelets, and home fries. The children raved about the pancakes and the adults were equally impressed. Lots of options for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten sensitivities(FODMAP friendly as well). They were very helpful in guiding us through the menu and the service at the table was full of genuine smiles. Worth a visit! We will be back!

Unilocal does it again! A place I never would have stopped became our destination because of the recommendations found here. The grilled cheese was crunchy and gooey. The tacos were flavorful and cooked to perfection. Homemade corn tortillas you say? Yes indeed, and super yummy. Everything topped with the crispest of field greens and edible flowers, nasturtium and pansies. Try an Arnold Palmer(half lemonade, half iced tea). The ambiance, the friendly staff all make this a perfect breakfast or lunch place.

This café is everything you want in a café — local, friendly, music, and amazing food. The biscuits and gravy are creamy and peppery, with a buttery biscuit perfect for maximum gravy absorption. The French toast has a vanilla heavenly scent and really needs no syrup although who can resist real maple syrup? The Denver omelet is egg perfection filled with smoky ham, red peppers, and cheese. The omelet was perfectly cooked with none of that brown overcooked skin. This might be the best omelet I’ve eaten. The home fries are crispy and well seasoned. You will eat them all. The buttery roll is divine. The baked goods in the case at the front all look amazing and homemade. The live music provides the best atmosphere for breakfast/brunch. Berta’s is a local gem not to be missed.

Stopped for breakfast on Sunday around 10am with party of 4. Luckily there was no wait but getting busier once we left. Cute and quaint nothing fancy. Fresh flowers on every day. I orders the breakfast taco with black beans. I could have used twice as much but the portion was reasonable for the price. Delicious. Others at the table ordered the spinach mushroom omlette with potatoes that were fried perfectly and large portion with a homemade unique butter bisque and jam. Delicious. Sister got cinnamon roll french toast with thick cut perfectly prepared bacon. Delicious. Other sister got egg bacon cheese breakfast sandwich. I believe most everything is organic and or local. Must try

We are so glad that we drove a little bit to find this gem. Food is great, the host(I assume it was Berta) is a sweetheart and makes you feel really welcome. The best!

We were looking for a nice breakfast/brunch spot before we went apple picking one weekend and we stumbled upon this little gem. There isn’t a lot of breakfast places that highly rated so we chose this one. There is outdoor and indoor seating, there is quite a bit of outdoor seating and if you have a pet with you, it seems like they don’t mind if you sit outside with the pup and have your meals. There are seats on the patio area and a little farther off, there is a good amount of seating inside and out so the wait shouldn’t be too long if there is one. You order at the counter and they provide a colored flag for you to take to your table and wait for the order to come. The water is a serve-yourself, but they have good coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice. I’m not sure I would suggest the orange juice only because it is so tiny and it’s more than it’s worth. I ordered the cinnamon French toast special and subbed the bacon for home fries. I couldn’t believe how many home fries were on the plate, I could barely eat them all! I liked my meal, it wasn’t too bad and the plating was very pretty. The home fries were a little too crispy for my taste and although I enjoyed the cinnamon French toast, it seemed more like a cinnabon then toast. I wish I could remember what AC ordered but he said it wasn’t as much food as he thought but he enjoyed it. It was more expensive then I would have liked to spend on breakfast, but it was okay. The website doesn’t provide much information other then directions and a phone number. I would recommend checking it out and I’m sure we will stop by again if we are ever in the area. Very nice staff and cute little restaurant.

Berta’s was a really nice way for our group of eight to wrap up an amazing weekend at the Finger Lakes. We were greeted warmly(by Berta herself?) when we came in, and, upon learning that it was our first trip to the café, our hostess brightened up even more and explained the ordering process to us: you order and pay upfront, and coffee is self serve, while the food is brought out to your table. I ordered my huevos rancheros(eggs, tortilla, tomato-chili sauce, and guac — I think this is basically correct; there’s no online menu so I can’t verify) with the eggs prepared sunny side up. I really enjoyed the dish, but it seemed like a few others who ordered it didn’t like it quite as much as me. It definitely has some kick to it, so fans of the spice: try this dish! My boyfriend and I also split a side of bacon, and while it was thick and delicious… $ 3.50 for two slices of bacon?! I also must mention that I tried a bite of my friend’s creamy scrambled eggs… made with goat cheese. omg, heaven. I of course ordered a coffee(which comes with one free refill, which like an insane person I did not use), and thought that the way the process was set up made choosing a mug, coffee type, and creamer/sugar/simple syrup options kinda fun. The place is really cute and there was both indoor and outdoor seating available. We appreciated that, while Berta’s is clearly popular, our large group was easily, and immediately, accommodated. If I ever get back to Seneca Lake(and I hope I do, because I loved it) I would definitely come back to Berta’s Café.

An adorable spot for breakfast! Cute space with a lovely flower and herb garden out front. There was plenty of seating inside and out front under the covered porch. It has a sweet hometown feel. The staff was kind and had big smiles. I felt very welcomed. The eggs, homemade roll(!!), and pancakes were a good start to the day. Be sure to stop by if they’re open during your visit.

A great find on our weekend road trip. If you’re heading into Watkins Glen this is a great place to stop and get a homemade meal by Berta herself! Service was great, and the band playing in the main room was a nice touch.

Found this lovely spot on Unilocal.Did not disappoint! Loved it so much we ate breakfast here 2 days in a row. Day 1 had the southwestern omelette and breakfast sandwich. Day 2 cinnamon rolls and a blueberry scone… bakery perfection! The atmosphere and staff are wonderful here. It’s a must if you are in the area!

Amazing breakfast! My husband and I both had the breakfast taco(with an extra egg as they recommended). The ingredients were incredibly fresh and the dish was so flavorful. I suggest getting the taco w the black beans as they have a unique delicious flavor. We also split a blueberry scone — best scone we’ve ever had. Great food and very friendly service — check this place out!

Berta’s is a wonderful café with great service and quaint atmosphere. Traveling with my dogs, Berta’s accommodated us on their outdoor porch quite well! The server was kind and patient, and we enjoyed it so much we came back the next day! As for food: please don’t forget to order the grilled scone. It is Amazing. The other breakfast dishes we had were omelet and a daily special of eggs with local goat cheese. The only disappointment was the potatoes, fried and overlooked and unseasoned. Otherwise a wonderful experience! If you are near it is worth a trip!

My wife, daughters, and I use Unilocal often when traveling and found Berta’s. Wow. We had biscuits and gravy, a blueberry scone, a breakfast burrito, eggs with bacon, and their amazing coffee. This place was remarkable enough that my wife waited in line after we ate to tell them how wonderful our experience was. Some of our favorite wineries are in the South East of Seneca Lake, so conveniently located, but just a little hidden out of the way. The vibe was great, a good space, and great food. It was busy, but the wait was only 15 – 20 minutes for our food. We will be back.

Such friendly people work here, and everything is homemade. They were squeezing lemons and oranges for juice when i arrived. I had the 3 taco lunch special with guacamole; have never had homemade corn tortillas in Upstate NY before — they were amazing!

Amazing breakfast spot. Very cute and pretty café, Berta cooks delicious food for the guests whose visiting her café. Me and my group of friends went there for breakfast on weekends. Café has large tables to accommodate big group and small tables, few outdoor tables. Coffee is self service, refill is free. We ordered various omelets, sandwich, biscuit with gravy. They were all delicious. My favorite was homemade biscuit with gravy, my husband loved guacamole omelet. Service was fast and attentive, place is clean and cozy. We were all satisfied! Five stars are not enough. I’m so glad I followed Unilocalers reviews. Thank you Unilocalers!

We ended up here at random after the place we wanted to have breakfast was closed. But ending here. Was a good choice. This place is good for breakfast. Berta herself was serving and her staff were excellent. The food was delish and my omelet spinach and mushroom was a definite win. The sausage and biscuit was also a hit. We ordered BLT and it’s not available for breakfast but still they made it for us. Few tables and a lot of people were coming in. We had a good time with friends, we had a good breakfast and good people around. A place I would recommend and I’m sure a place I would find myself going back to if I’ll be around the finger lakes. Few cars for parking is available at the side. The place itself is tidy and clean.
