My favorite winery in the Seneca area. We go back and buy a case every year. Great prices, great flavors and their desaunac is out of this world.

Very gorgeous bar inside with shattered colored glasd inside, a photographers playground. Sweet as can be staff who were great at recommendations of other places to visit. Some of my favorite wines from the trip were here. They have soft pretzels and a deck for relaxing. All in all a wonderful stop along the way.

One of my absolute favorite wineries! The place is beautiful and I love how their main bar top is all lake glass. The jabber waulkie white is my favorite. The staff is always very friendly and helpful.

We have a soft spot for this winery! We usually stop here first before even getting to our event checkin and load up on wine! We are members of the case club and we proudly wear their sweatshirt. Everywhere we go we to take a bottle of their wine to share!

One of the required stops for us every year. Free tasting if you’re in the case club too.

I went to JR Dill today. First of all thanks to the winery for offering a free tasting with a Unilocal check in. I hadn’t thought of stopping by but after seeing the check in deal I didn’t hesitate. It also made purchasing a bottle of wine an easy decision(the cost of the bottle was close to what I would have spent on a tasting). The winery and tasting room was very large. If you’re putting together a large group for tasting I would strongly consider it. The wine was good but not outstanding(but to be fair it might have more to do with my palate than the quality of wine). Our server was very knowledgeable and when I told her what I generally like her suggestions fell right into it. In a nutshell a solid choice and good representative of the quality wines in the region.

$ 3 for 5 tastings. Friendly staff but there are better wines at the other wineries.

Great staff, great wines. And if you check in on Unilocal.you get a free tasting! I know there are other wineries that discount the price of the tasting when you buy a bottle, but this is a nice little touch and I always like to see businesses engaging with Unilocal and other social media. We liked this winery so much that we’ve been there twice – I know that doesn’t seem to be saying much, but we’ve only visited the area twice and resolved to try new wineries. The fact that we doubled up on this one is a testament to its service and quality. I’m pretty sure we had the same tasting host both times, and she was very nice each time. They have live music from time to time, and we happened to be there on a Thursday night when they had a band on the front deck. It was relaxing to hear a few cover tunes before walking back to Seneca Springs where we were staying… it’s right next door.

My husband and I stopped in here for a tasting after reading a lot of good reviews on this winery. When walking in, it has a very rustic décor and the counter for the wine tastings had sea glass all on top… it was really cool to see! I tried all of the semi-sweet and sweet wines. My favorite was the Jabber Waulkie White, an amazing wine for the summer time! Very light! I had to buy a bottle of that to enjoy at home. If you paid for a tasting and purchased a bottle of wine, you got a wine glass with their name on it for free, which was a great souvenir from the winery! The staff was very informative in the history of the winery and the location. We love hearing how everything got started. It wasn’t too crowded for an early Sunday afternoon wine tasting, which was perfect for us. Overall a great winery to check out!

We drove here then came back the next day with other friends. This winery is a must to see. Free wine tasting with checking in @ Unilocal. The bar is huge and well presented. The top of the bar is made of cut glass that was collected from the lake for years. The person who was helping out with the wine tasting is efficient in what he does. Since I wasn’t doing the tasting he gave me a glass of water, which was a great thing to do. Very Impressive. Their reds are excellent as per my friends and they loved it. Huge parking out side. This is a must to see. Good wines, nice staff and good deals.

I visited this winery while staying at the Senaca Springs resort next door. The winery was great. The proprietor was very personable and interesting. The tasting counter is made from reclaimed glass from the lake. His wife has collected the glass over the years and they decided to use it in the winery. He also explained the relevance of the Jabberwocky monster, which is fabled to live in the Lake. Some of their wines bear the Jabberwocky name. I won’t ruin the fun for you, but it’s definitely worth the visit. Oh yes, the wines were great too! We each bought three bottles. Because we were staying next door, we were able to enjoy the tasting for free. I highly recommend checking out the J.R. Dill Winery.

Not the worst wine of the day but not good either. One of the first things that man said was, pour out what you don’t like. That statement set the tone. More than one was poured out after tasting. He didn’t try to interact with us much. There was only one other couple there. The tasting room was full of stuff for sale.

We visited a lot of wineries during our weekend trip to the Finger Lakes and the hospitality and atmosphere at JR Dill was second to none. The owner is a fourth generation Watkins Glen native and has many great stories and local flavor to share. We bought two bottles and were given a souvenir wine glass to take home. This is a relatively new winery and will only get better with age.

i went to j.r. dill as part of a bachelorette/bachelor party this past weekend. we had a limo bus driving us around and our driver managed to plan a tasting here last minute. how lucky were we :) great vibe from this place the second we walked in. there were 18 of us, and jeff was able to handle us all without a hitch. we were able to try 13 wines for only $ 3! he told us a bit about the wine and poured all while having a great attitude and making sure that we had a great time. he was very personable(hope you had fun at the wedding that night) and told us a bit about his family and the history of the vineyard. great experience here and i recommend j.r. dill to anyone who is in the area or passing through. i will for sure stop in if i’m in the area again. thank you for the delicious wine :)

I visited 4 wineries on my trip up to the Finger Lakes. Of all the wineries, I got the best«vibe» from J.R. Dill. Everyone was friendly, yet professional. The tasting was $ 2 for 7 wines, but the person helping me was pretty lax with the amount of tasting one could have. It was a nice, laid-back atmosphere. I ended up buying two bottles of Cayuga White(only $ 10 a piece). I will definitely go back if I’m ever in the region again.

I highly recommend stopping by J.R. Dill if you’re doing a tour of the Seneca wineries or just visiting the area. In addition to having excellent wines, the owner is an exceptionally pleasant young entrepreneur who really knows his wines. The facilities look brand new, and there is plenty of space for wine tastings, even when there are a lot of people there. We got a bottle of the DeChaunac, which was different and delicious. I’m not sure I’d ever seen that varietal before. If they have it when you visit, I recommend tasting it. Finally, a minor note, check out the actual counter where you do the wine tasting. It’s like an illuminated glass display case filled with crushed up, multicolored pieces of glass bottles. The owner told us that its made from bottles that his family has been finding in Seneca Lake for the last 30 years or so – amazing! Anyway, this place is definitely on my «must stop here» list of Seneca wineries. Check it out.
