I don’t go to Wells frequently due to to it being a little bit of a drive, but as a grilling aficionado with friends and family who love the work I do on my kamado smoker, Wells is simply the best place to go for making sure I get a fresh ham, boston butt, pork back ribs, or whatever else I plan to throw on the smoker for my guests. It doesn’t get any fresher than from the store across from the farm! Hams in particular are a bit hard to come by at the local grocery stores but I’ve never had a problem getting what I am looking for at Wells. If they don’t have a ham on display in the cooler that’s the size I want, they always are able to rustle one up from the back. I have never had a bad experience with the place or the people, so by all means check it out if you like to grill out. If you have a big party to cook for, you may find the prices worth the trip.

I have used Well’s for years but there is a new owner now and it has gone way downhill. I have given them two chances and the second was worse than the first. First visit 1) ground meat had inedible cartilage ground in 2) packages of shanks, 4 per package — two packages only had 3 shanks. These animals had 4 legs 3) didn’t freeze some of the parts and they spoiled — they didn’t seem to really care 4) one whole ham was cut through the middle to the bone Second visit 1) asked for shanks 8– 10 inches. Some were as short as 3 inches 2) pieces of meat were slice 2 times like they weren’t sure where to cut 3) the racks were to be left whole and the cut the ribs completely off. Not only do they not know what they are doing, the owner, Teresa admits she knows nothing about cutting meat but assures people they know what they are doing. They deny that they ever do anything wrong and will only argue if you try to discuss it with them. I have dealt with few people as inconsiderate as Teresa. This company does not deserve to stay in business.
