Quintessential neighborhood coffee shop. The IDEAL place for a stop and caffeine break after you bike up Maplewild! Stop, rest, enjoy some banter with Jason or locals. Right behind the stand is a mini-mart where they sell all sorts of convenience food. The drive up is fast and they give out dog treats. It doesn’t get much better than that, says my dog.

Got a simple drip here with milk and sugar free Irish Cream flavor. While you may be thinking that this order is boring and doesn’t show the quality of the coffee made here, you are wrong! The drip coffee taste fresh and delicious, not that gross old left over dirt taste you sometimes get at mass producing coffee shops(ahem Star-somethingorother). The barista put in the perfect amount or flavor. It’s easy to add too much taking away from the coffee’s rich flavor. She also put in just enough milk to not make my coffee lukewarm. Basically my «ordinary» drip with a few add ins was really really phenomenal. My friend ordered an Italian soda with watermelon flavor, cream and whipped cream. I noticed the barista did not fill the cup up first with ice, instead she mixed the soda and flavor then added the ice. This ensured you weren’t just buying a cup of ice(like said other coffee shop above…) she also added the perfect amount of cream as not to overpower the soda and flavor. The drink was then topped with fresh whipped cream. Although a few cents more expensive, I felt I got my money’s worth. $ 4.50 total for both drinks. Great service. Great selection. Great value. Great drinks. Just go.

I love a drive through, they are so convenient! This is a great place, easy access to swing through quickly and grab a drink from a great group of people!

I have lived in Burien pretty much my entire life and, while the Bean’s Italian Soda’s have always been pretty good, their coffee has always turned out mediocre at BEST… To start, their price vs. taste is unbelievable. I just paid almost $ 8.00 for a 16oz, 5 shot Americano and a 12oz Iced Chocolate Milk. I usually go to the Pit Stop on 1st ave off 148th(and now know why!), where I have never spent more than six dollars for the same combo. The coffee that I am now drinking(against better judgement) is unbelievably bitter despite the white chocolate flavoring I believe he may have either forgotten, or shorted me on, not to mention the feel of the grounds that accumulate on my tongue after every drink. I have purchased from this establishment many times, always months and months apart and hoping that they will get better since I love supporting local shops and live down the street. Unfortunately, this never happens. It is the ONLY stand I have EVER encountered for which I am guaranteed an abundance of coffee grounds to be floating about at the bottom of my cup, every time. I am not a huge fan of Starbucks, personally, but have to admit that they come out on top in both price and taste when compared to this«coffee» stand. I am definitely the type to encourage second, or even third chances, but sadly this will the the last time I waste the gas, money, time, or taste buds driving through this place.

I have been to many many coffee stands in my time and though I will always be a supporter of Starbucks(family works there) — I have to say my favorite non-starbucks place is The Bean. The owner is super nice, just like everyone says. He kept his stand open during our recent snow storms even when most places were closed. He is dedicated! oh ya, and the coffee is really good AND you get a punch card with 2 free drinks. The prices are about 40 cents higher than starbucks, but it is worth it to help out small businesses.

Seahurst: that little cluster of businesses and nice neighbors at the west end of 152ndSW. How sweet it is. And, the absolute hub of the community is The Bean. Well, except for Saint What’s His Name. Anyway, Jason, the owner is super friendly and their coffee is great.

YAY for the BEAN!!! AND for ALL of the drive-up coffee type places in Seattle!!! So… the service is here is FANTASTIC! They girl behind the counter… SOKIND! She genuinely seemed interested in how my day was, when she asked… i mean, i am used to NYC… not many people truly mean it when they ask. There Chai is great… I went back to get another… Different guy working, very nice as well… but his chai wasn’t half the chai of my girl from the first day… So. alas, i wait till i see her… and then drive through. No… i am not a stalker… just a very picky chai zealot, if you will…

The coffe here is delicious — I’m especially enamoured of the Chai spice latte. The operator, Jason, absolutely could not be friendlier — really a peach of a guy, and his dog’s cute too. Only slight complaint is that the prices are a touch high — but then again, it is espresso and a great way to wake up in the morning. They open allegedly at 6AM, although I never hit ‘em till after 8. Definitely worth a try!
