We’ve had two recent experiences with this location and they have bee terrible. I ordered a couple of pizzas for my wife to pick up on the way home from work. I told them it was for pick up and gave them my wife’s name as the person who would be picking up. Imagine my surprise when a delivery man arrived at my door with the pizza. He spoke almost no English except«cash only.» I had only a few dollars in my wallet and no more in the house, so I couldn’t pay him. I called the store and the person who answered the phone said my wife had already paid at the store with her credit card. I put the delivery man on the phone and they told him the same thing but he didn’t understand them. After he finally realized the pizza had been paid for and let us have it, we had been standing on my front step in mid thirty degree temperatures for fifteen minutes. My wife arrived home and we all sat down to eat our pizza, which by now was nowhere near hot. Just tonight, my son ordered a pizza for pick up, and when he arrived to pock it up he was told it was on its way to the house. He was told he would have to go back home and pay cash for it. The delivery guy arrived before he did(my son had to stop at an atm) and waited. My son paid for his pizza and brought it inside. When he opened the box, he found, not the pepperoni pizza he ordered, but a cheese pizza. My family will never order from this location again.

If I could, I would give this place ZERO stars. The management failed to discover that they charged me for an order that they failed to deliver on– basically, they charged me for food I did NOT receive. I’m still waiting for my reimbursement, more than a week later! If I did not call them and point out THEIR error, I’m pretty sure they would have never paid me! It’s fast food pizza, how hard could it be… I will NEVER be ordering from this place again. TIP: Double check your bank statement!

I was given a fundraiser card for papa johns for a buy one get one free large pizza. I use it all the time and my pizza is always very HOT and FRESH. They have even let me use it for delivery, even though delivery is listed as a no no on the card. This is the best joint in the area!

Not sure why the Papa John’s in Burke has two stars. It functions exactly as a carry out pizza place is supposed to… order your pizza online/by phone/whatever and come pick it up(or have it delivered! what a great world we live in…). It’s the same Papa John’s pizza you’ve surely had many times before. We’ve been ordering from this location for years(10+) and haven’t ever had a problem. Conclusion: –It’s your standard, carry out only Papa John’s.

We’ve ordered delivery from this Papa’s John’s many times, but I’m not sure why. Granted, the delivery is prompt and friendly, and the pizza is quite hot, but I always wonder about the cheese. It just isn’t melty enough and I suspect it is some cheap imitation stuff. They also throw in a little tub of melted garlic butter which is WAY too tempting and I usually feel overstuffed when all is said and done. Certainly the sauce is not as tasty or loaded with herbs as really great pizza sauce is, and the pepperoni is unremarkably. I wish we lived closer to a Ledo’s so we could get THAT delivered instead!

Papa John’s is my son’s favorite pizza. He would eat PJ pizza every single day if his mom(me) would allow it. This store is clean and the people are friendly. It makes him happy and that is good enough for me.

Tastes like all other Papa Johns that I have ever ordered from. The few times we’ve gotten delivery they’ve come within the estimated time.

Warning: The delivery guy decides his own tip! I was shocked when I found out that my brother handed the delivery driver money for the food we ordered and the driver decided to return the change he deemed sufficient. He decides his own tips, apparently. I couldn’t believe anyone would hire or employ a d-bag like this, so I called the store to ask what’s up. The manager, who seemed like a bit of a d-bag himself, defended his driver. I gave him my account of the event, and he seemed to not believe me. Okay then. He then assured me that this particular driver has been delivering pizzas for over 10 years(Pizza delivery credentials), and already has a totally amazing day job, and he doesn’t even need this job! Yeah? He just delivers pizza as a hobby I guess. I suggested that regardless of his driver’s love for driving pizzas around town, it’s bad business practice to have your drivers return the change they deem acceptable to their customers. We decide your tip, not you. Overall, the manager was rude, not helpful, defended his driver and even at times seemed to defend this business practice. I will never order from this place again.

We get pizza here on Monday nights during football season when they have their Redskins touchdown special. The special is a large pizza for $ 9.99 with a free topping for each touchdown; the toppings are doubled if the Redskins win. Since the Redskins scored 4 touchdowns and won their season opener with the Saints yesterday, the special involved 8 free toppings. We get the pizza through carryout because I pass nearby on the way home from work. They seem to have a clean, efficient operation. Although we called only 15 minutes before arriving for the pickup, the pizza was ready when I got there. The pizza is good but not wonderful. The toppings are not generous, but they are free. We often take advantage of the touchdown special. The last two years have been pretty lean for the specials and the number of toppings. The Redskins are off to a good start and maybe Monday pizzas will again be a regular event for us.

PROS: Service was fast and the Place was clean. CONS: Pizza is horrible… after living in Italy for six years, I guess I am bit of a pizza snob, but is was like bad frozen pizza. I got the supreme thin crust pizza. Crust tasted like a bad $ 1.99 microwave pizza I used to have during high school. Tomato sauce was also horrible tasting… i would have been better off opening my own can of Bertollis… Between the crust and sauce, the taste was just terrible. Toppings were generous portions, but that’s about it. Best pizza I have had in the area thus far was at a non chain store in Old Town, Alexandria on King Street, and then a place called Buontempo Brothers in Bel Air, Maryland. PJs is probably about the same as Dominoes, slightly worst than Mangianos, and for the price, not really better than anything that comes to mind.
