Pretty darn good handmade burger, fresh condiments to top it off and good handcut fries. We were the only ones in there at 3:30 and the girl and guy working there were friendly and polite. Was our first time there I had the Hickory burger that has caramelized onions and BBQ sauce on it set on a toasted bun, while my girl had the sourdough burger with swiss cheese on it. Both were very good, may not be the best I ever had but its in the top 5. Well worth a trip to try, I would go often if I lived here. The bill was $ 22 and some change for 2 burgers and fries and drinks which come with free refills.

I’m not a fan. They are cash only, that’s fine but put a sign up, when I asked why there was not a sign I was told people don’t read them anyway. I do not like the do it yourself bar either but that’s just me. They have a «mini ATM» at the counter that charges you $ 1.50 to pay for your meal with cash from the register. It’s a confusing scam that I do not like. Basically if you use a card you are paying $ 1.50 more to eat. I’m out on that, just put up a sign or charge 3% more and be done with it. They do have a sign that there are no waitresses and they mean no service of any kind there were three people working and two of us in the place when the guy put out our burgers he literally walked farther to tell us they were ready than he would’ve to bring them to us. Add all this up and the burger is very average and the price is on par with places that have waitresses and service and take cards and don’t make you build your own burger. At this rate I doubt they will be here long.

Amazing! Best burger I’ve had in a LONGTIME and I eat out quite often. Unless you read the signs real good, it doesn’t scream«restaurant». I mean, it does say burgers, but the building isn’t a traditional restaurant style building. The inside is a rustic, homey feel to it with lots of décor on the walls, signs to read and things to look at. The employees were nice and helpful. If I had questions, they were answered and explained to my liking. Jonny was my favorite, he was a super sweetheart. He was very polite, smiled, and was very helpful with some of my questions too about some of the food, dressing I tried and the jewelry for sell. Before my own full review, I’m going to make some comments towards some ignorant people that left negative reviews that don’t pay attention to signs and read. Review: Adrian O. 06÷19÷13 They had spoke of a girl that had a huge attitude. However, most people over exaggerate to the fullest. I believe she took our order tonight, but that slight attitude I think is just her personality. I normally take offense to that, but I can tell, she’s just like that, but not in a bad way. Review: David H. 01÷02÷15 His comment was, calling out peoples names for their order when there is no one else in there, and them being only 10 feet away to not bring their tray to them. Ok, David, if you took the time to read the signs around the grill and register area, it says, «NOWAITSTAFF, SOPICKUPAFTERYOURSELF», in so many words it says that. So, to say that they could just bring it to you, NO, that’s not the way they work. So, get up, stop being lazy yourself, and pick up your own food. You order at the counter, you pick up at the counter. To your second and only other comment you left, you said it took them 13 min to make your food. Well, AGAIN, unless you can’t read, there was a sign for that as well. It read, «This is not a fast food restaurant, we make our burgers from scratch, so enjoy your wait.» Again, in so many words. So, David, read the signs next time, and maybe you wouldn’t have such a bad experience, and also, to not make someone look bad for your ignorance. Now, back to my own NON-biased review. I personally ordered the Parmesan Burger, my mom the Swiss Burger and my grandpa his usual Cheese Burger with added mushrooms and bacon. Being my first time here, there are signs to read that explain how the process works. That’s what you do when you don’t know, you look for LITERAL signs to tell you. There is a sign when you first walk in to take your order at the counter. There is one that tells you that there are not waitresses, and to clean up after yourself. And when they ask for your name, you would only assume that they will call your name to come and get it. They also mention that they only use fresh beef patties that they are never frozen. And the fact that they are not fast food, so don’t expect it to be fast. They are cooking it properly, and good food takes time. I’ll have to post a pic of the signs next time I’m up there. When I do, I’ll reword my review to the exact verbiage of the signs and the photos to back me up. The wait time isn’t that bad. It’s the SAME as of any other wait at a regular restaurant, they have to actually cook your food from scratch some of the times. not all food is prepped and ready to go like McDonalds. If you come with people, you have people to keep you company. I personally got up and looked around and shopped for jewelry in their little store in the corner. I posted pics of the jewelry I purchased. *OURFOOD* My Parmesan burger was was pretty good. They aren’t salty at all, and I do NOT like salt, I never salt anything. When I cook, everyone tells me I need to use salt, I just don’t. So, for me, it wasn’t salty or over salty in the least. It was very big, and very juicy. They could probably use a little more seasoning, but that’s it. I just slapped on some mayo on a bun, some onions, lettuce, and a tomato and I was good to go. The fresh cut french fries are big and fat, very good! My mom’s burger, the Swiss Burger was amazing too. Very VERY juicy, made a mess just taking one bite of it. Delicious! The condiment bar was clean, very organized and set up perfectly. They had romaine style lettuce, large slices of juicy red tomatoes, large slices of red onion and dill pickles. Next time I’ll be going up to try a homemade fried pie and a shake. I can’t wait! Look out for my next review on that one. FOLLOWME!

I am about the pickiest person you can imagine when it comes to food. I’m an avid foodie. Let me tell you, THISISTHEBESTOLDFASHIONEDBURGER I HAVEEVERHAD. I can’t say anything bad about this place, the people are even nice. I wouldn’t even care if they weren’t nice to me because the burgers are so darn good. We drive all the way from the Colleyville area for these burgers. The other day we got there about 1:45 and they were out of meat. I wanted to cry. I’ve had Charley’s, 5 Guys, Kincaid’s, all the Arlington faves and none compare to this burger. The meat is fresh, cooked just right and served on a fresh good olé fashion bun, toasted to perfection. There’s a veggie bar so you can dress it the way you like. Don’t bother going anywhere else if you can get to this place within 30 – 45 minutes.

I would really like to give this place two and a half stars, but they certainly don’t deserve three. Ordered cheeseburger, fries and a diet coke… pretty straightforward, huh? Only one other patron in the place and she already had her food. Thirteen minutes later they called my name from ten feet away. Really? Just bring me the tray, OK? If the place is even moderately busy then call out the customer’s name… but there were TWO people in the place, equaling the number of staff!(A little bit of service goes a long way.) Burger was extra well done, completely dried out and way too salty! Toppings bar items were fresh and crisp and I don’t mind the do-it-yourself aspect, a la Fudruckers. Fries tasted like they were cooked in old grease.(The diet coke was delicious!) Good atmosphere with a ton of potential! Just stop it with the excuse that«The Health Department makes us cook our burgers that way!» It’s simply not true. Also, regarding the amount of salt on the burger: «The owner makes us use that much»…really? I’ll be back to try the thick-cut bologna sandwich and a shake! But there are too many great burgers within thirty minutes of here to try that again!

The service was really good. The hours are now 11pm-9pm Tuesday through Saturday. I like the consistency of the schedule. Drinks are $ 2.49 each. I feel like that’s a lot. The fries were good. The burger was average. I like the condiment bar. Picking the toppings and amounts makes it fun. The cheese wasn’t that good. The flavor of the burger, while fresh, wasn’t seasoned very well. I’ll give it another chance.

Faked high reviews to match. A friend took me here to try the food several times. The burgers are average but good and the atmosphere is interesting. I would love this odd little place in the middle of no where, if the SERVICE wasn’t so RUDE. The people behind the counter act like you are bothering them when you try to place an order. The unprofessionalism and disregard are palletable and off putting consistantly. I’ve never seen anything like it. I thought the first time was a bad day for the help, but after trying it several times, I’ve talked to my friend and he admitted he tries to ignore it but it bothers him to. Believe me, the food is no where near good enough to get service like that. It’s the top two examples of bad food service I’ve ever had and that is saying a lot in my travels. Go down the street to Myrtles burgers, owned by a sweet old couple who care about their patrons. Much, much better food and way better service! Luckily I talked him and his family out of ever taking me back. Surprise, surprise other people in the family hated the service too and didn’t appreciate going there for a bite. Did I mention the service?! I’d love to record it and post it on YouTube for what not to do to show in business school. By the way, I noticed a few suspicious five star posts for this place. They look like they are posted by people related to the company. Interestingly some five star ratings were done around the time their unworked website was purchesed. VERYMISLEADINGPOSITIVEREVIEWS compared to what reality is. I suspect all the«five star» reviews are faked to give this place a high rating it does not deserve. Unbelievable! Unilocal should have something in place to report fake reviews.

I have driven by this place a hundred times and never thought to stop. My wife and parents went there one day without me and kept comparing the other burger joints that we have been going to with this place. So had to check it out. Let me tell you what this is hands down the best burger I have had in a long time. I love me some burgers and to know that this place is around the corner has me doing a jig. Meat must come from the meat market that is close by. Fresh and awesome, plus they actually know how to put some salt and pepper on it while it cooks, what a concept. Frys are humongous and great, definitely split them. Next time I’m going to not eat for a while and try that triple monster that I saw advertised.

Appalling service!!! I was shocked at how awful the staff treated our party of 18 guests last night! Especially considering how few other guests were there Not only did they accuse my brother of trying to steal from them when he asked for the cheese that he ordered, my sister had to leave and go to the store to purchase forks for us to eat the birthday cake. They also refused to let us use a knife to cut the cake. But worst and most shocking of all… The cook followed us out as we were leaving and tried to demand we go back in and clean up one of the tables that was not self cleaned! When I walked in I thought, «what a cool place», but after the horrible experience, I will NEVER return. And discourage anyone even considering this place. There are too many other great restaurants in the area that know how to treat customers.

I have to agree with Celeste A., this was an excellent burger. I live with a burger hound. For his 50th birthday, he didn’t want to go for a fancy steak at a fancy restaurant, like the rest of us. He wanted a Great burger. I wanted to at least do something unique and fun. This turned out to be the perfect spot. It’s out of the way, but just 30 minutes from North Arlington. Very Cute, Very Clean, Very Friendly. Not many people there, but there should be more on a Saturday night at 7:00. There were some really backwoods characters dining there, but that made our visit a lot more interesting. I talked to the cook, and she seemed to love her job. The rest of the staff was nice, friendly and working hard. They don’t state the weight, but it’s at least a half pound burger, well seasoned(not salty, a nice amount of pepper) fresh ground hamburger, not sure what the cow ate, but it had great flavor. Juicy, cooked about Medium to Medium Well. I had the Hickory Burger, it was awesome. I split it with my friend. She got a Patty Melt… on Texas Toast, this is Texas not New York… and split it with me. Both were perfect. My husband got a double burger… I think he was sorry ’bout that, it was huge. He finished it, but could not eat again until dinner next night. The rest of the crowd just got regular cheese burgers and were all very impressed. I split fries, with another friend, fresh, thick crispy and wonderful. We did not have room shakes, but saw one that looked great. They have a condiment bar with the fixing’s, that looked nice and fresh. I didn’t need any of that since I had a Patty Melt and a Hickory Burger. Gosh, I’m still thinking about it and it’s been 4 days. I think it’s well worth the drive, and a place you want to find. Note: there are several little places with burgers on this road, make sure you find the right one. We almost used this as a place to turn around to go to another spot, until we figured out we were in the right place.

Just ate hamburgers and fries and chocolate shake — great — just like home but better since I did not have to cook!

Stopped here after a random stop in Rendon. Our photographer had highly suggested this place, so we thought we’d give it a shot. I’m a sucker for a small burger joint. Let me tell you, this place does not disappoint. I had a sourdough burger with bacon, the mrs. had a regular cheeseburger. Neither disappointed whatsoever. The fries here are great as well. A little salty, but overall flavor was great. The shake was fantastic. Overall, this place is almost worth driving to Rendon from Arlington for. Almost…

After days of bad eating around the high school, I decided to re-visit the Rendon General Store. WOW. They have upped their game and at the moment this is the place I will judge all other burger places by. Kincaid’s has been beaten soundly and my two co-workers were amazed and have vowed to drag their spouses out to this podunk location to withness the awesomeness as well. Rendon General Store fixed the overly salty problem from before and the meat is now perfectly seasoned. We could not be more thrilled to find this solitary gem near our school. Current Rankings of My Limited Experience: 1. Rendon’s General Store. Rendon, TX Hands down the best so far. 2. Simply Burgers, Euless, TX 3. Kincaid’s downtown Fort Worth, TX 4. The Star Café, Stockyards, Fort Worth, TX. Best atmosphere 5. Goff’s Highland Park, Dallas, TX 6. Burger Box Euless, TX 7. Nicky D’s Crowley, TX
