I was seriously impressed with how clean and well stocked this store was! It’s between fort worth and Waco(ish) and worth a stop! The elk jerky is delish and so are there cake balls. They had seasonal flavored cake balls: caramel apple, pumpkin pie, cinnamon roll and pecan pie, all yummmmmmy! Clean bathrooms, well stocked coffe and cereal bar. They also had bbq café which I didn’t try but I saw the food and it looked fresh!

There’s not a lot between Ft. Worth and Hillsboro, but there is one of the best gas stations ever. Situated on a hill, stocked to the gills with everything you could want and then some, this cute station has it all. After filling up with gas and visiting the clean and spacious restrooms, head on out to the floor to find all manners of food. Lots of local/Texas eats and jerkys(Dr. Pepper jerky!). They also have about every soda/canned/bottled beverage on the planet and a fairly good selection of wine. The staff, donned in cowboy hats, is always extremely friendly and a lot of fun(they seem like they’re having a marvelous time). Highly recommend!

By far the most ravishing gas station I’ve ever had the fortune to set spur in. Texas Best Smokehouse has permanently raised my personal expectations for road trip piss stops. And let me tell you, i’m not easily impressed when it comes to public facilities. From the unthinkably diverse drink selection to the whirlpool faucets in the spotless bathrooms, I’ll never forget the best roadtrip of my life… chewing on beef jerky while blasting Lynyrd Skynyrd. You really do only live once.
