Really nice guy and great experience! I found two bikes on CL that I liked, and Alan let me test out both and even changed the pedals on the one I picked to make it a better fit for me. As other people have mentioned, it is a bit hard to find and the place looks a bit scary in the dark, but Alan is just super kind and friendly. Afterward, he helped me get the bike in my car and offered me his card in case anything goes wrong. Great guy, great price on the bike, just all around great find. Thanks Alan!!!

Alan is awesome. I found him on Unilocal,and after reading his reviews I called him. He fit my bikes in that same day and I got them back 24 hours later. The bikes were unused for 8 years, but Alan brought them back to life. I am so excited to take them out. He also took an old heavy duty mountain bike off my hands and put some credit towards my repair. I highly recommend his shop and I’ll gladly take my bikes back in the future.

Five stars!!! I post here rarely and Alan is worth doing this for. Thanks to Unilocal,we discovered Alan. And what a lucky find he has been!!! We had a last-​minute tune-​up request for two our of bikes before taking a very long bike trip and he accommodated us all the way as he was available late in the evening and he had the bikes ready to go the very next day. We brought a third bicycle the next week in after its chain broke and, again, he was available and fixed it on the spot. Alan is super knowledgeable and has a great flexible business. He’s great guy — fair, honest, and will take care of your bike. Highly recommended!

5 stars all around! Alan is a pleasant guy and does great work. Got my bike tuned up for $ 60, and my daughters for $ 40. Both bikes are running perfectly and oh so smooth. He accepts cash payments and can have your bike done the same day.

I am a start-​up biker, and just dropped in at Alan’s bike shop today, to get a quick tuning of my newly acquired bike which I had assembled myself. For a start, it was a bit tricky to locate the shop, as 1745 is a whole big warehouse lined by shops on both sides. You will find the shop about 7 – 8 shops behind, on the left side.
The experience itself was like a whiff of air, got a warm welcome and my bike was on the repair platform in the next minute! He checked on all the critical things which have the most possible chances of going wreck! Brakes, handle bar, gears, all nut/​bolts, paddles etc. I was in and out in 15mins! Conversations were easy, and the advises and tips, pitch perfect! Didn’t mind sparing a well deserved 20 $ for saving some definite future problems with my biking experience! Will be back again…

This is a hidden gem and I’m so glad to have found it!!! Alan is the best!!! He helped me adjust 2 of my bikes! He is incredibly helpful and he knows bikes very well and was able to get my bikes in shape in a matter of minutes :).
This was such a great experience I totally recommend reaching out to him for any of your bike needs!

My daughter went earlier tonight to get help with a bike and she was blown away with Alan’s knowledge and friendly spirit.
We had another bike that needed minor adjustment so we went back together with the second bike and he thoroughly impressed me too! in a matter of minutes he had adjusted the whole bike. When we asked what we owed he wouldn’t take anything for the minor adjustments. We tried leaving $ 20 on the counter and he refused it and said «give it to charity». what a wonderful person! Its rare to find such kind and giving people these days but Alan is a gem!

I needed my bike to tuned up so I went on Unilocal searching for a good place for bike tune ups. I came up across Alan, gave him a call and next thing I knew I took it to his place. He said he would fix it in a couple of days but he finished the tune up the next day. Quality work and good prices. I would definitely come back for any bike needs. He also sells used bikes for good prices.

I found Alan here on Unilocal.Brought my mtn bike in for repair. He did a great job tuning it up. But then something went wrong, my crank was messed up. I brought it back and he replaced the part and fixed it right back up. Here’s the kicker-​he didn’t charge me! Unreal. Great guy. Fantastic service. I’ll be back!

I had the pleasure of buying a bike of Alan recently. I was looking for a road bike to commute to work and found a good variety at this store. This is the place to go if you are looking for a good bike!

Alan is great! Very friendly guy and a bike professional. Called Alan after work to see if he could replace my bike tube [he doesnt sell bike merchandise, but if he has it in his shop or you bring it he’ll help you out] he got it done in 5min. Again great guy genuinely wants to help people out and he’s not looking to rob you.

Great service! Alan replaced my tires. I ride for a while and one of them was damaged. I called him and he replaced the defect tire for free. 5 points ! Recommend it!

Great experience with Alan. I had a number of bike needs, a tune for my daily commuter, a new bike for my son and I had a bike I just wanted fixed well enough to go camping this summer but not a full tune. Alan took care of all my needs quickly, nicely and more than reasonably priced. He understood exactly what I needed and made a deal on a handshake. Its almost like having a buddy that works on bikes. If you need a bike, check with Alan first, if you need work done he does that well too.

I found Alan on Craigslist while looking for bikes for my kids. He seemed to know a lot about bikes and gave me a great deal. Very friendly and patient guy, I would highly recommend him!

I stumbled on Alan on Craigslist. Picked up a bike for my college-​age son. Alan was great to work with. Friendly and flexible. He made sure the bike was in good working order and even helped me load it in the car. I will definitely go straight to Alan next time I need a good used bike! (The Irish brogue is an added bonus of course.)

I was looking for someone to help me evaluate a couple of bikes I inherited. Alan agreed to help. I met him at his shop. He checked out the bikes, filled the tires, and gave me a value to list them on Craigslist. He did all of this at no charge, even though I offered to pay him.

I bought bikes for my, kids n me from Alan. The bikes he sold me (@ a great price), worked n lasted 5 years now. That’s how long I’ve been buying stuff from Alan. Hes not bad at poker either:) lol

I was in the market for a new bike, but had been putting it off because of the expense. Then I found Alan on Craig’s list and decided to take a look at what he had. He had loads of options to choose from and he was very knowledgeable about which bike would best suit me. I finally bought one that he had restored himself, at a very reasonable price and I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend Alan if you are in the market for a bicycle.

I was helping my girlfriend search for a ladies’ bicycle when I first discovered Alan through Craigslist. When we paid him a visit at his office in Burlingame, located parallel to 101 South, it turned out to be a cozy little workshop with all types of bicycles!
Alan is a very warm and friendly guy who is passionate about the old bicycles he restores and sells. He ensured that we were completely satisfied with the vintage Raleigh road bike we purchased, and that if we encountered any problems later on, all we have to do was drop by again and he would gladly fix what was wrong.
The next time I’m shopping around for a project bike at a very reasonable price, Alan would be my first stop! Completely legitimate and highly knowledgeable on different kinds of bicycles, I recommend Alan’s shop to anyone looking around for a bike for any purpose.
