Thursday, 11:00AM. Quickie: + Organized — Customer service — Staff flexibility And then??? We didn’t experience good customer service when we hired Fidelity. She was inflexible with scheduling and abrasive in her responses. There are too many resources involved without Fidelity showing extra effort in these transactions.

At the closing of escrow for the house I was buying last Fall, the listing agent suggested Roberta to do the title work. It turned out, Roberta was totally unprofessional, and bad attitude over the phone. I told her there will be a loan between the family member, she said she will be have to check with the seller if it is ok, as for interest rate between family member, she has NOCLUE, as for the title work, she needs more than one day to finish. When I told her my estate planner said the whole thing should take no more than one hour to finish, she said«Oh, that’s easy for him to say !!» I didn’t need to deal with some one so ignorant like her, complained to my own real estate from Alain Pinel so we changed to the San Mateo office ‘s agent Jose Flores who is totally professional, did the work within hours. Never use this woman Roberta!!!

Worked fast but the fees are a little ridiculous… they probably hope no one pays attention to the small fees…$ 40 notary fee…$ 25 fax fee… eDoc fee $ 75…make sure you ask her to explain each fee.

When working with clients that are purchasing from San Francisco through San Carlos, Roberta Tavake is the Title Representative that is 100% top notch for my clients. When purchasing a home, my clients deserve the extra hand holding that should be expected. Roberta has always been there for my clients and I. We have been working together for about 3 years, and I would not hesitate to recommend the Fidelity team — Including their Sales Representative Leanne Burnfield. Fidelity is a huge company, but that give that small«boutique» customer service. Call Fidelity, you will be happy you did. Ask for Leanne or Roberta and tell them Alan Canas referred you.

I was underwhelmed with my experience with this title company. They lacked attention to detail, slow to return phone calls, and generally don’t get the feeling they appreciate my business. Give them a call and just see how they sound when they answer the phone…

Never do business with this title company. Ever. After we closed on selling our house this past week on a Wednesday, the Fidelity Title completely dropped the ball. We delivered a voided check to them, expecting the proceeds from the sale of our home to be wired to First Republic, our bank. Unfortunately, Fidelity screwed up the wire but continued to close escrow even though the wire was in error(they admitted to adding the routing number twice, instead of the account number). We received no call from them. None. Our bank did inform us that a bad wire had come in and they(First Republic) actually called Fidelity to resolve the issue. Fully expecting this to now be resolved I patiently waited for the money to post. By Friday morning, still no money. So I called Fidelity. And was given the run around for nearly 2 hours. Including statements like«oh yes, I was our fault but now you have to wait for our bank(Wells) and you bank to straighten the situation out.» And oh yes, your property didn’t actually close until Thursday, so the money won’t be wired until close of business today(Friday)” which is was clearly in error. And most frustrating of all was the fact that I had to follow up on this issue. I never, ever received a proactive call from Fidelity saying«oh yeah, we screwed up but we’re working on it.» The manager, Gloria, eventually resolved the situation. But with hundreds of thousands of dollars in limbo with no actual accountability, this is unacceptable for a firm who’s principal responsibility is the settling of funds upon completion of a real-estate transaction.

Debbie Moorby-Smith was wonderful helping me and my husband, first time home buyers, through this process. We bought our house a month before we were married and after we married, she helped us understand how to change the title on the house to community property. To this day, 6 months later, she is still prompt in replying to our questions and requests for copies of the paperwork(for tax purposes) and we very much appreciate that. If we ever have any other Title issues(or friends with title issues), we’ll refer them to Debbie. She’s professional and kind, as, as far as we can tell, very good at what she does.
