I had a great experience working with Cal Metro Construction from the beginning to end. I found them through Red Beacon update a rental unit in Burlingame. After submitting my request for services I was contacted immediately by George Lee to set up our initial appointment. He was professional from the minute he walked through the door and very detailed. I received a quote the next day and the project started within that week. His team of workers was also very professional and he was there to oversee the project or was on constant contact by phone. I was very pleased with the outcome of the project and would highly recommend this company

Stay clear of this contractor.
I had a pretty bad experience with them, their main problems being:
* They are trying to do their work as fast as they can, not as good as it can be (or you would want it)
o Their paint job was peeling 1 week later
o The walls they built were not straight. Same thing with their tiling job.
o Their woodwork is shady at best.
o Their plumbing work end up leaking
o They don’t care about the design you have in mind and will build things to their idea. If you confront them about not following your design they will come up with all kind of «creative» reasons for not doing it. Even if your contract spells a precise design.
o They don’t plan ahead the entire construction and so don’t anticipate potential problems. If those problems arise they will use quick fix-​up when an overall planning would have provided a long lasting solution.
* They have limited physics knowledge and are not capable to adjust to unfamiliar questions.
* They are not following EPA rules for lead paint removal
* The workers left a trail of damages on the property (scratches on the hardwood floor, holes in wall, paint spills, chipping of door frame).
* They are VERY dirty. Expect to clean up your entire property after the work is done as they don’t try to contain the dust to the construction area.
* The manager is never on site, only interacting by e-​mail/​phone. He will count on you to be on site to tell the workers what to do. And he will still charge you for overhead cost.
* Only the manager speaks proper English (yes the one never on site).
In summary you are hiring a team of handy men with basic skills.

This company has done wonders for many home projects. I had some very bad experience with contractors in the past. I am so pleased to find them through words of mouth. That was 7 years ago. Since then, I will not have anyone else to touch my home projects. Their price are reasonable. Their are superior. Home renovation is very hectic. You do not want contractors that you can not trust. I have to say Calmetro took the anxiety out of me. I do not have to worry about my project not done right or fear of they may run away. Cal metro is the best.
