Dr. Hamilton just delivered my baby last week at Mills Peninsula. My husband and I are so happy that we chose him. Let me first tell you why he’s great and then I’ll address other people’s concerns in their reviews after.
–First, I was having issues with conceiving and Dr. Hamilton took the time out to understand my situation. After diagnosing me, I got pregnant in two months!
–Second, after finding out I was pregnant, I naturally got paranoid and sensitive to anything and everything and wanted to make sure the baby was ok. Dr. Hamilton again took the time out to listen to me and assured me that everything was going to be ok. He also took my call during the weekend and after hours and reassured me of whatever bothered me that week.
–Third, I liked knowing that Dr. Hamilton was going to be the one that was delivering my baby. With my first baby, I went with a Dr. that was part of a group of other Drs. and apparently, that meant I might not get my Dr. when I deliver the baby because it depended on who was on call. Here, Dr. Hamilton is by himself in this practice so it’s good to know all the concerns I talked to him before during the first 8 – 9 months was going to be carried through when I deliver. I mean seriously, if another Dr. that you weren’t familiar with came in to deliver your baby, do you think they’re going to have time to read your birth plan and chat with you while you’re in labor?
–Fourth, my pregnancy had complications and we decided to induce early.
–Fifth, the hospital staff all love Dr. Hamilton. When the in-​house pediatrician looked at my son’s circumcision, he noted that my Dr. must be Dr. Hamilton because of the way it was done. I asked if that was a good thing and the pediatrician said yes, he actually prefers to have the circumcision done the way Dr. Hamilton does it.
The main issue that other reviewers have brought up;
–Waiting: Yes, you sometimes wait longer than normal for your appt. I haven’t waited as long as other people claim. Maybe 30 mins. Longest is an hour but that’s because he was delivering someone’s baby at the hospital! I always told myself if I wanted Dr. Hamilton to deliver my baby and not a stranger, then I would need to provide that courtesy to other mothers that need him. If he’s late, I know it’s because he’s at the hospital. Things happen, you only see him once a month during the first months, and then every week towards the end, how many times can it possibly hurt your schedule? It’s worth the wait, trust me.

Good luck getting that incompetent billing department on the phone! Either they seem to be at lunch or «unavailable». Good luck keeping patients with that poor service.

Dr. Hamilton and his staff continue to amaze me. Throughout my 2 pregnancies, they have all become like family to me. I always feel like I’m given the extra mile attention wise.
My most recent labor went so smoothly thanks to the kind care of Hammy (yes that’s what I call Dr. Hamilton). Dr. Hamilton was there every step of the way, from when I needed urgent care in Mexico, to my random calls to him for false alarms. And now, not even 2 weeks out from my delivery, I feel like I never even gave birth.

I was Dr. Hamilton’s patient for 4 years. I finally got so frustrated with his hands off approach I switched doctors. In retrospect I should have switched years ago. He is sloppy and doesn’t take time to look after his patients. I won’t go into details but I recommend looking elsewhere, especially if you are pregnant or trying to conceive!

Dr Hamilton delivered three of my beautiful healthy babies by C-​section. He’s very knowledgeable, experienced and very direct. He does not sugar coat things and may seem offensive but he’s just stating the facts. His office is absolutely beautiful but the wait times can be frustrating. Right next door to Mills Peninsula hospital which is very convenient. He will deliver your baby!!! Won’t let some dr. you’ve never met do the work for him. I’ve called him 3 o’clock in the morning, 4 o’clock in the morning and 5 o’clock in the morning on different days when in labor and he was always available to speak to me. Thanks dr hamilton! You and your staff are awesome. I will let the world know how great you’ve been!

I debated writing this review but given that deciding on an ob/​gyn may be one of the most important decisions a woman makes, I wanted to share my thoughts. Dr. Hamilton was my primary doctor for about seven years. As others have stated, the wait times for appointments were insane. And it was not because he was in emergencies (his staff is clearly instructed to use this excuse) — he simply cruised in late and didn’t mind making people wait. Even though I saw him for years, he never seemed to remember my name or my history from one appointment to the next. He makes inappropriate comments during exams. Maybe he is trying to lighten an uncomfortable situation but it’s rather perverse. I never bothered switching doctors as I felt that I didn’t want to start over again with someone else, and my best friend had a completely different experience with him and loved him. I saw Dr. Hamilton throughout my pregnancy and thank goodness I had an uncomplicated pregnancy and by a stroke of luck, Dr. Hamilton was out of town so another ob/​gyn delivered my baby and she was excellent. Dr. Hamilton arrived back in town in time to do my son’s circumcision which went smoothly so I will give him one star for that and another star for the charity work he does overseas.

Office facility and staff are great, but waiting more than an hour for each visit is crazy. I understand that emergencies come up, but please stop over booking if you can’t see your patients in a timely manner. Even for a SAHM the wait time is just too much.

This is my first Unilocal review and I don’t usually write reviews here. I want to use this opportunity to let everyone knows Dr. Hamilton is the BEST. If you are looking for a doctor to deliver your baby (or other medical needs), look no further, he is the ONE! He is truly the best of the best! Words just can’t describe how wonderful he is. He delivered our first baby in July 2015 at Mills Peninsula Hospital. I am so glad that I found him. I hope he never retires.
I had been seeing another doctor in Redwood City for several times after I found out I was pregnant. I did not feel 100% comfortable with that doctor, so I chose Dr. Hamilton based on the high ratings on Unilocal.And yes, I made the right choice! Some other Unilocal reviewers said that the wait time is horrible, those people have to understand that the good stuff has a cost. I wouldn’t mind to use my time to trade for a good doctor. To be honest, I personally don’t think that the wait time is that horrible. I came here quit often for my regular pregnancy check-​ups and be seen promptly. It was just one time that I waited for a little extra longer was because Dr. Hamilton had to rush to the hospital for an emergency delivery which was totally acceptable and understandable. All the nurses are nice and the clinic office is bright and clean and welcoming.
I had a long delivery day, almost 24 hours. Dr. Hamilton monitored my status closely; he came in and out to my room periodically to see and ask how I was doing and check on my status. This made me feels so comfortable; this made me know that my doctor is with me all the way. As a first time mom, I was in so much fear and didn’t know what to expect, it was very important to have a doctor who you truly trust because your life and baby’s life are in his hand, and also the subsequent cares after giving birth. I just love how much he cares about his patient. Thank you Dr. Hamilton for being such wonderful doctor, we couldn’t do it without you.

I adore Dr. Hamilton. My husband and I sing the praises of Dr. Hamilton all the time. He is old school and new school at the same time. When I told him that I wanted to have a drug-​free birth I appreciated that he encouraged me to hire a doula to assist me in a drug-​free birth. He is very experienced, funny, kind, gentle and intelligent. He is not an alarmist but takes necessary precautions. Dr. Hamilton was always available to me due to many strange things that happened to me during pregnancy… kidney stones, preterm labor, etc. He is accountable and reliable. I wish all my doctors were like him. Because they don’t make doctors like him anymore. His staff is very helpful and friendly. We saw Georgette his nurse practitioner a couple of times. She is down to earth and informed.

Dr Hamilton’s team is amazing! Special thanks to the wonderful medical assistant who got that referral out. For my first mammogram and ultrasound (for a suspicious breast lump), they sent out a referral to as many diagnostic imaging centers as I asked for! So thankful, as it permitted me to make an appointment for the very next day. Couldn’t have done it without them!

I have been coming here for the last few months for pregnancy check ups. The waiting times are just horrible. I have never been seen in less than hour. I have also been asked to wait in the exam room half naked and needed to wait sometimes over 30min with no one coming in to inform me of a delay. Sometimes by the way the doctor doesn’t actually do any vaginal examination and the nurse will still ask me to undress.
If I was in the beginning of my search for a doctor I would recommend not coming here.
I understand that sometimes delays happen to doctors but given that delay is the
norm here no matter if you come in early or late in the day this means there is some failure in the way the staff schedules appointments .
If you value your time you will find a different place.

I believe all the other comments are absolutely true. My previous OB retired and we just moved. I started the search for an OB again. Looking through other comments, I decide to give it a shot here to plan our second baby. My appointment was on Tuesday afternoon. I got a call earlier this week and have that rescheduled to this morning as his first patient. No problem. Things happen.
Things never go as planned when you had a little one. After going through a series of trouble in the morning, we arrived on time. Waited to be greeted, and led to the room. Then time passed, and passed… no doctor in the house. To be fair, staff did check on us in between. After about 45 minutes of wait, one staff walked in and I did my consultation with her, pretty much. I was informed that Dr. Hamilton is solo in his practice, whenever you come here to see him, you need to clear 1hr to 1hr 30 minutes in addition to your appointment time. Which means that adding that clearance time to your appointment time, you should have 2 — 4 hrs reserved in your schedule to see him for anything.
As you all know, the appointments will be more and more frequent when you progress through your journey. As a working mother with a working husband, there is NO WAY we can commit here. We left after an hour of waiting without seeing the doctor due to conflict with our work commitment. I think we need to work to be able to pay our bills, keep our insurance, and get to see our doctor?
Again, I believe the doctor is great, just the feel from the office and the staff. But there is no way that I can commit to 3 — 4 hours for each doctor commitment.
From the comments I gathered here, he is very knowledgable in a number of specialized areas. I never had any problem with my first girl and don’t expect much issues with my second one. Is it really worth 1 — 1hr 30 min of WAITING time before seeing him THROUGHOUT my pregnancy?
Glad we start the search early this time. I am moving on to another OB in the neighbourhood.

Dr. Hamilton is the best. Him and his staff are always so sweet. The girl at the front desk is always so nice, and my nurse Heather is great! I don’t dread going to the doctor anymore!

I don’t know about the doctor Henry, this is a review about his office and staff. Never wait so long for their conclusion that would have to do an urine test. The worst costumer service that I ever had.

Dr. Hamilton delivered my son back in July, and it went great! I had a c-​section with my first, and this time I really wanted to have the natural childbirth I had planned with the first.
As you been-​there-​done-​that moms know, once you have a c-​section, it can be difficult to convince an OB to let you try for a natural delivery. Dr. Hamilton was very supportive of my goals from the beginning, and pretty much let me call the shots as long as I was being a rational, reasonable person.
The nurses at Peninsula were having a coronary over the fact that I was trying for a natural delivery, so they made Dr. Hamilton sleep in the hospital overnight «in case I needed a c-​section.» He didn’t complain about it once, and even came in every few hours to check in on me and see how things were going.
Long story short, I ended up successfully delivering my 9 POUND 4 OUNCE bouncing baby boy with no drugs at all. I felt like a strong, powerful (albeit tired) warrior woman! Thanks again Dr. Hamilton!

There are few times in life where you meet a doctor and their staff and fall completely in love. That’s what this office did for me. I’ve been with him sense before being married and children were even in my sights. He took a sickly child from Kaiser and fixed me right up. He saw me through three pregnancies, a genetic nerve condition and an auto immune disorder. He’s human and understands human nature. He cares about people and family and he cares about the outcome and future of the child and mother relationship instead of washing his hands of you once his part is over. He’s more than a hatch them and catch them doctor. He’s infertility, OB-​Gyn and primary care. I can honestly say I love him, Georgette, the billing manager and office manager. I love them all and wouldn’t feel safe anywhere else. I definitely wouldn’t have any other person or team to help me grow and deliver a baby. They can have some crazy wait times making you feel like you need to take the day off. If they were on time more often this would be a 5 star place.

Doctor Hamilton is the best OBGYN in the entire Bay Area. I was scheduled to be induced and one thing that I was extremely determined to do was have a vaginal birth (if at all possible). Doctor Hamilton made this happen. He is extremely attentive, fun and a very cool person overall, and when it comes to giving birth will do everything in his power to make your birth process go as smooth as possible.
That’s just my story. Not to mention he helped my friend get pregnant naturally without any intervene in a month (she was trying for almost 9 before that).
I would have had a C-​section if I was with another doctor 150%. He is amazing!!!

I have been seeing doctor Hamilton for 3 years now, he is so amazing and friendly.
Willing to help anytime, I call his office or answering services even on weekends or the middle of the night, and he still gets back to me in a timely manner.
The office staff are also amazing, friendly, always smiling and willing to help.
Even though I moved, I still go there for checkups taking a 45 minutes trips to his office.

Dr. Hamilton delivered my first child 15 years ago, and I came back so he can perform an IUI and he knew exactly what my wife and I needed to do! I got pregnant on our first insemination! Yay! He is a fun doctor and this is why I came back to him!

He’s a great guy if you’re unemployed and have all the time in the world…
I was referred to Dr Hamilton by a coworker, and was really excited to go see this guy. My first appointment was just a regular annual checkup, but the doctor was so backed up, I ended up waiting for hours, taking time from work in the middle of the day. They said it’s best to schedule appointments in the morning. So I did! The first time I did that, they called me the day before and said he wasn’t going to be in due to surgery. Reschedule again… Told me I was the second person of the day. Not true! Showed up on time, the doctor is not even in… He’s on his way! And there are two other people before me! What?
So if I had a couple of more hours in my day, this would be worth it. And I’m absolutely sure there’s a correlation between his age and his inability to manage time.
