Yasmine is a great stylist. It was my first time here and i got a haircut from her. A wonderful sweet person who knew what she was doing. She did exactly what i told her to. I Showed her a picture of the haircut style i wanted and she did a great job. Definitley going back there. Worth spending money. They dont take tips on credit cards which was sad cuz i didnt have any cash on me. Overall a great experience. I walked out happy and satisfied.

I am so picky about getting my hair done because I always end up hating it for the first month. In the first time in 7 years I walked away LOVING my hair and not only do I love it but I have gotten a million compliments. Both her cut and color were spot on for what I wanted. If you want and amazing cut and/​or color go to Alyssa! Can’t thank her enough!

I have never gotten my hair proffessionally colored until a month ago. I came in knowing i wanted to go a little lighter and my stylist gave me the most beautiful highlights. I highly suggest Yasamin, she is so sweet and so talented, she really wants her clients hair to be gorgeous! After a few weeks with my highlights, I decided I really liked them and was reasy to go even lighter! I called the salon and requested Yasamin of course! I went from black hair to blonde hair for the first time and I feel like a new person! Its so hard to find a good stylist who is honest and has a great personality, but Yasamin is all that! Literally so happy with how she did my hair! This is my go to salon for anything hair related now and so happy I found such an amazing stylist. I wont go to anyone else!

It’s now been almost two years since I started going to Onyx and just a little over a year that I’ve been getting my hair done by Lauren. This most recent time, I went in for a balyage touch up (which turned out better than I ever imagined). Originally, I was scheduled with Lauren for a three hour appointment because I have such thick hair. This ended up taking seven hours over the course of two days. The fact that Lauren was willing to take her time on my hair in order to ensure that I was happy with the outcome, which I most definitely am, speaks to not only her talent, but also her character as a stylist. She truly treats her clients with the utmost respect and cares deeply that they are absolutly satisfied with their hair. I remain impressed with Lauren (and her patience) at Onyx, and will continue to go see her!

I’ve been to Onyx three times now, and all appointments were with Kris. I called in and let the front desk person know that I wanted the best person for a balyage and she made me an appointment for a consultation with Kris. The consultation lasted 5 minutes and she walked me through what she was going to do since I already had an ombré balyage. She was able to tell me approximately how long the service will take and an estimate of the cost.
I was nervous for my actual appointment but I had no reason to. Kris is an expert at hair! She’s also really sweet and listened to what I wanted and talked to me about what was best for me in terms of how I like to maintain my hair.
Also, they help you feed your meter! This sold me. Just let your stylist know when your meter is running low and they will call one of their assistants to help. I make note of my parking number and which lot I’m in when I park so I can let them know.

First time and Hilary was great making sure my Asian-​black hair didn’t turn red. She recommended the perfect brown balayage and hair length for the summer. And everything in the salon is bumble and bumble and oribe. Thanks Hilary and Onyx!

Update on the below review. The salon contacted me and mentioned that I should have gotten a blow dry with my cut, and gave me a free certificate for my next cut and blow dry. That was amazing. 5 stars.
Good service (I got color and cut) but nothing special. Also, for what I ended up paying I expected to get a blow dry with my cut and color. It was all separate. I’ve never had to pay for blow dry in addition to cut and color. I ended up leaving with wet hair. It is way overpriced for what I am used to in Burlingame, unfortunately.

It’s always scary finding a new salon and hair girl when you move to a new place… but Yasaman is my go to girl now! Salon is great and she does a fabulous job. Been getting cuts with her and just decided to take some color to my virgin hair and she killed it. No need to look elsewhere!

I got my balayage ombré done by Hilary. She is consider a new talent, but she has 6 years of experiences in the hair industry. She is very friendly and she cares for her clients.
Hands down, you should book her. Overall experience was great, but if you are going to get your hair done for 4 hours consider parking somewhere that isn’t 2 hours maximum. I had to move my car between washes.

Christina Perez is hands down the most talented hair stylist/​colorist I’ve ever been to! I came in with ORANGE hair and she worked her magic to fix my hair. She is so amazing she worked quickly and I felt so comfortable with her expertise. I walked in so embarrassed with my hair and walked out feeling beautiful!

I am so glad I finally found a home salon and the best stylist EVER! Shawn C! I have been coming to her for a couple years now because I had been having a hard time finding a salon without drama! (I do not go to a salon to become part of the drama among the staff!!!)
So, when my co-​worker Karen C. suggested I go and see Shawn, I thought, why not! It’s a good time to change to a new place. I was hooked from day one! It was very obvious that she knows what she is doing and has been doing it for a while! Shawn is amazing, she is super sweet and listens to you! She is honest and will ask you questions to make sure you are getting exactly what you want! She is my Hair Boss for sure! The salon itself is great, very good location and the staff is always friendly. Plus we both happen to be from Michigan! So we can relate! Thank you for always making me feel beautiful Shawn! xoxoxoxo

GO TO CHERYL!
I absolutely loved her work. She was taking her time with my hair (I had long and thick hair). I came out completely different person.
What I really liked about Cheryl is that she is a true professional. She listened to what I wanted, she asked so many little details to make my haircut exactly what I wanted.
Cheryl is very sweet and pleasant to talk to. It was my very first time (but not the last), and it felt I’ve known her for a while.

This review is more for the stylist I saw.
I saw Gina for an ombré and her personality was great, really fun!
However I would not recommend her for an ombré, it came out quite choppy, blunt and box like. The front desk had recommended her as being excellent for ombres and as it was my first time visiting this salon I took their advice. It may have just been that Gina had the most availability that day. I would NOT recommend Gina for an ombré at all.

Nice place, friendly staffs. Had bad experience once, scheduled an appointment at 12 PM and reached 3 minutes late. I called and informed them that i’ll be 5 minutes late. Then when I reached, they asked me to sit, and 5 minutes later the girl from the cash came and told me that the stylist cannot take me as I am late, she already has taken another customer. Seriously!!! I informed before and only 3 minutes late!!! Anyway, I scheduled another appointment but this time with Lacey. Lacey is friendly and a good hair specialist. So far she is good. This place is awesome! I love the vibe and the people are all super nice! I got my hair colored and cut and my hair looks great and I had a great time! Gina did an awesome job covering up my ombré!
My boyfriend also went and had Yasmine and she did an awesome job with his hair! She did the cut exactly how he wanted and was very nice!

If you can travel 3000 miles to get your hair done, your hairstylist is def worth every penny. My hairstylist Shawn is one of the best hairstylist ever. She did my hair for years in michigan and then moved to California. I live in NJ and for last 3 years I have tried to find someone like her but they are nothing like her. I recently had an opportunity to travel to SFO, I made an appt with her and am so glad she fixed the issue I had. I will def see her when I can on my next trip
