The UPS Store

Great store! Sometimes understaffed but always friendly and attentive, helpful with whatever I need. A bit on the smaller side (store size-​wise) and harder to find, but the service never changes and I always feel that I am taken care of regardless of what I come in asking for. Prices vary depending on what services I use but the job is always done promptly and correctly so I guess I can’t complain. Love this store!

Right, so after my last review — my first ever on Unilocal — of the other UPS location in Burlingame (at 1325 Howard), where I learned that customer service was an alien concept to at least one person who works there (and btw that’s based on more than one interaction), I decided to check out this one in Burlingame Plaza. Short version: it was night and day.
So the guy there, Lalit, was just unbelievable. He was friendly, he smiled, he found a form template that worked, he gave me guidance on another document that I needed notarized. I left one happy camper. And he didn’t bend any rules: he was clear about what he could and couldn’t do (notarization has strict rules).
This UPS location is much further from me, but I’ll happily drive another five minutes for 100x better customer service. This place (and Lalit) is actually a role model for service vendors in general, not just logistics/​notarization. Two thumbs up.

Just came in here needing to print something off of a flash drive. The guy there was super helpful and had it done in about 2 minutes, which I really appreciated because I was in a hurry and I think he could tell. Was kinda hard to find though (it’s a small place and easy to miss), so anyone reading this, they’re in the alley next to Lunardi’s and across the way from the liquor store.

This is the best ups store ever!!! Great customer service, very kind and nice people, also very reliable. I wouldn’t think once about going to another ups store.

Needs to update their hours! Does NOT close at 6:30! I rushed over to send a package to my friend before he leaves for the army, and now he won’t get it on time. CLOSES EARLY!

Great, friendly service from Lalit and Shalini. Plenty of parking either in the back or in the front of the strip mall.
LOL @ the complaints about charging for tape, it’s pretty standard practice at most UPS and USPS locations. If you don’t have the time to think ahead and prepackage your box before going to UPS, then don’t complain about having to pay for packaging tape. CVS is literally in the same strip mall location if you want to buy an entire roll.
No matter the day or time or how busy it might get in the store, Lalit always has a friendly smile for the customers. Shalini is always professional and courteous. Their employees are also quite polite and friendly.
This is the reason i always go to this location rather than the Burlingame location which is closer to my house.

Wanted to rewrite the legal contract my employer provided and tried to charge extra when all that was required was notarization of a signature and sighting of government ID. I will be notifying UPs of the crooked practice at this location.

Very nice, very professional, and understanding people. Try to please their customers anyway they can.

great service in and out and friendly people

I went on Saturday for a notary and was told a notary would be there all day on Monday. I showed up Monday around 12:30 p.m., and was told the notary already left for the day.

I’ve been here twice now. Prompt, friendly service to both the customer ahead of me and myself. I didn’t have any packaging for the two items I was shipping, but they had just what I needed. They keep your info on file, so you don’t need to rewrite your return address for future packages.
Didn’t think I’d write a review after a day of mundane errands but Lalit’s upbeat customer service stood out and was much appreciated. Sometimes, it’s the little things that make a big difference. Pleasant and efficient — will be back, thanks!

It’s sad that I have to drive to the edge of Burlingame (a part that I thought was actually Millbrae) to find a decent UPS store! Especially when there’s one down the street from my house. But based on the Unilocal reviews

This trip was a quick in and out, took less than 5 minutes to return my Zappos box. AND they were selling Father’s Day cards, which I ended up buying for my Dad. Two trips in one!

Lalit and Shalini, the owners, are a very cool couple. They work hard to make sure their patrons are taken care of. I am always happy to know that all my deliveries will be accepted/​signed for. Overall, very pleasant people to deal with. No complaints.

Negative stars if possible. Only If there was FedEx Kinkos, more professional and better equipement.
Same thing happened to me. I had a UPS enevelope that needed to be sealed with the mailing instructions, i had no plastic pockets. They charged me for freakn 12 inches of tape.
I think the owner, a lady, told me AFTER they put tape on my envelope, not Before, that it would cost me $ 2 bucks for 12 inches of FREAKN tape. If I would have known I would have walked across the street to Safeway and have 6 months worth of tape. Not even a courtesy warning…
They also seem to have new employees all the time, revolving door if you will. Im sure if they treat their customers like this they probably do worse to their employees.

Boycott

Walked in with a box to ship, I had already printed out the prepaid label, all it needed was a bit of tape to seal the top. After the store operater sealed my box he proceeded to charge me $ 2.00 for the deed of putting tape on the lid. Crap dude, it was only the lid of my box! Are you kidding me? The UPS Store on 2^nd Ave in Burlingame does not charge this. Why? Because it’s called customer service! He was still going to get a handling percentage from UPS for accepting my box anyhow. I rather pay a homeless man $ 2.00 to buy a beer than give away money for a piece of tape to which I could have bought a whole role at CVS or Walgreens accross the street.

I do everything in this UPS store, it is close to my house as well! I always ship UPS and if not, I ship it USPS. Yes, they do USPS. It’s family owned and I have a box there! Better than a PO Box, but more expensive.
They do notaries, passport photos, shipping, packing, copying, faxing and more! Convenient, all in one!

This family owned and operated establishment delivers consistent customer service, they are friendly, efficient and helpful. I would recommend this location to anyone that needs a PO box or has to make a shipment.
It’s tucked away across from the liquor store and behind the See’s Candy.
Some of their items may be a few cents pricier than Walgreens, but it’s well worth keeping the money in your local economy while helping out your neighborhood mom and pop.

A friend needed to mail in a notarized request for her child’s birth certificate — a mutual accountant friend suggested this place. Not only was it super convenient but one of the owners who helped us today was extremely friendly and efficient.
There is always a notary here so no need to make an appointment! We were in and out in a matter of five minutes — ok, maybe 10 mins. (she had to provide her driver’s license and they took a thumbprint; $ 10 dollars later the form was notarized).
Great local peninsula resource. Closed on Sundays — just submitted business hours to Unilocal for posting.
