The raw bar is the reason to visit in my book. Don’t miss it — Chesapeake oysters for a buck a piece. That cannot be beaten!

Tonight was our first time at the Brickwall Tap Room. They had a Sierra Nevada tap takeover. It was pretty good. The burger was amazing and cooked perfectly. The chicken BLT my wife got looked amazing and huge. However, the absolute star of the night was our server, Nick. We are used to not getting good service but Nick took care of us very well(and that was shown in the tip). Will definitely be back, especially if we can continue to get great service!

Cool place, good beer selection, service was good considering how busy the place was. It’s a good spot to hang out for beers and a snack, but I really would not recommend going for dinner. I went with a group of 4 and none of us were impressed with our food.

I went for the first time with a party of four last night(Saturday) at 7:00PM. It was busy and we had to wait for about 20 minutes. Turned out that it was well worth the wait! The ambiance, service and food were excellent. Very nice selection of beers on tap, too. Burlington City has been an up and coming town and the Brickwall Tavern is a substantial step in the right direction; I’m definitely looking forward to my next trip!

I’ve been to the Brickwall Tavern twice. First time on a whim taking a friend out for his birthday. We walked in to find four people sitting in the entrance, but no employee at the host/hostess station. We peeked in and saw two bartenders and another employee who looked at us and kept walking. After about 5 minutes I asked the people waiting for a table what the wait was. The said ½ hour. Made sense, the place was packed. So we left. The second time Was Sun Jan 24. Five of us went for dinner and check out the place. We entered through the back door, but was met by a friendly employee who promptly seated us. They had a good beer menu and I was all set to get a flight and try at least four different beers like I would at most other places. That is until I saw a flight was $ 15! That is $ 6 – 8 more than most other places. But still the beer menu was pretty darn good. The food menu was big enough with a decent selection of different types of food. They definitely had some offerings that were different and good– the mozzarella skillet. Melted mozzarella turned into a dip of sorts. nice! I saw they had catfish, and not having fried catfish in a while I ordered their fried catfish with parm grits and fried brussel sprouts. The sides were excellent and the piece of fish was huge! That’s were the good part ended. Instead of the traditional cornmeal breading/batter typical of fried catfish, theirs came in the same type of batter you would see on fish and chips. Different, but by no means a deal breaker. I like different when done right. First, the piece of fish was encoded with about 1/8″ of batter all the way around. That is a bit much. Then I took a bite, then a second and a third. The fish they served was not catfish!

I want this plane to succeed. Burlington needs more good options for evening entertainment, and the menu promises something beyond typical bar food. They have a nice craft beer selection and a friendly, fun ambiance. But, so far the execution has been disappointing. First visit, ordered the beet salad. Who doesn’t like a simple, well done best salad? This one is made with canned pickled beets and overloaded with chopped celery. Scandalous. Second visit, ordered the Black Russian sandwich and shared housemade chips and onion dip. The chips came out cold and burned. We expected something hot from the fryer, crispy with a dust of salt paired with the creamy, sweet oniony dip. Instead the chips were sliced too thin so they overlooked quickly. The onion dip was just out of the fridge and so cold and thick the thin chips could not stand up to it. Disappointing. The Black Russian was dry. Very heavy on turkey, maybe ¾ turkey to ¼ corned beef. There was little Russian dressing to balance the dryness and — insult to injury– the bread was also dry. I love their menu and want to come back and try again, but so far, the chef is not up to the task. Still, a great spot for a beer or cocktail with friends.

On our way home to Maryland from New York we decided to pull off I 295 for early dinner in Burlington. After reading the reviews we chose Brickwall. Even early in the evening the bar was alive. We ordered the shrimp and grits and the strip clam platter. The food was prepared quickly, the service efficient and friendly and everything was delicious. The only comment I can note was the lack of dessert options. They only had ice cream and nothing else. Because we travel back and forth to New York we would consider stopping in the old riverfront area of Burlington to eat at Brickwall.

Tonight was out 3rd trip here and it was by far the best. They have worked out the growing pains with the wait staff and expanded the menu. I had the pressed pork belly with homemade baked beans and mashed potatoes and it was one of the top 5 meals I’ve had-anywhere. The pork belly was tender and juicy and the fat cap was perfectly crisped with delicious cracklins included. Previously I had the port wine cheddar burger and it has been excellent both times. Cooked exactly to order. The homemade chips are brilliant. I’ve also sampled the fish and chips and it was spot on. The kids menu is adequate and my two love the corn dogs. The beer selection is great with a nice variety and changes frequently. We like to eat local and you can’t help but root for a place that has their wait staff wear shirts that say«Believe in Burlington.» The town has so so much potential and I hope this place helps to start a revitalization.

Fun spot. Good beer, great steak sandwich. I’d come here again if I was traveling through.

We first noticed how really noisy the place is. They were playing some intense music in the background during lunch that added to the din, probably caused by mostly all hard, brick surfaces in the long, narrow dining room that is shared with the bar and tvs. I can’t figure out the theme of the place. It is in a retired firehouse with brick walls thruout, but they(unfortunately) were ruined by painted them a bright aqua blue color, then they glued on some sort of rope sign that I coundn’t figure out what it says. yet the place is called Brickwall Tavern instead of maybe a nautical theme. Beer selection is excellent, although about $ 1 pricier than others in the area. Even $ 12 for a burger is high. High prices will kill local repeat business who will go elsewhere. Menu prices don’t match the website prices. Our waitress, Kasey, was friendly and efficient. They seem to have a great sense of teamwork going, as other staff assisted her. We ordered a variety of food that everyone was pleased with. I especially liked the crispy chips. We will be back.

This place looks amazing from outside and the theme is consistent throughout. Its a cool place to sit and hang out however the drinks are weak. We didnt order food so I cant speak to that but when ordering mixed drinks be cautious!

A solid option for lunch or dinner in Burlington. Great how they’ve renovated the former firehouse and also included Burlington themes in the décor(«Beerlington» for instance). Some of the draft beers were a little more obscure than I expected, but also some standards, so a nice mix, you can find something for everyone. Housemade chips that come with many orders aren’t that good, but the fries that you can replace them with for a slight upcharge are great. Too cold now for outside seating, but am also looking forward to their next door expansion. Will definitely be back.

Very nice addition to an area that was sorely lacking a nice drinking establishment. Prices are high for the area but lots of craft beer and generous portions make it worthwhile.

4 of us had dinner here on November 6th. It was a very warm evening so we sat outside(no wait for a table). Our waitress was fantastic, explained the menu, specials, beer selection, etc. We each ordered a drink, the homemade chips/dip appetizer plus an order of wings to start off. The appetizers were delicious and came out quickly. As for the drinks(a double vodka/cran; a double Captain & Diet; a double Maker’s Mark & Diet)…they were honestly the weakest drinks we’ve ever had. I honestly question if there was any liquor in them at all. The color of my vodka/cranberry was dark red, most likely because there was literally just a splash of vodka. Our meals(cheeseburger, chicken pot pie, roasted chicken and turkey dinner) were all delicious! The turkey dinner came with a cheddar stuffed biscuit that was to die for! Interesting menu, great food & service, nice location… but please don’t stiff your customers on drinks!

Tried it tonight for our first time. The décor is trendy and I bet in the spring time the garage doors being open to the street will set an awesome vibe. Had grilled buffalo wings to start, and they were on point. Kids meals are well portioned and affordable. I had the meatloaf, and it was tasty. My wife had the port wine burger, and she loved it.

Very cool new place in Burlington. They haven’t been opened long and it shows. The hvac duct running above some of the tables was«sweating«and dripped on our table once. They were aware of the issue and apologized. They even wiped it down at one point. It looks like they are working on opening more space which would have helped. We went around 7:30pm on a Friday and it was packed. They have some picnic tables out front so we got drinks and took them outside. It was a 30 minute wait for 3. It was pretty loud and crowded but we had a good time. Chips and guacamole were good. Two of us had the port wine cheese burger. It was cooked well and very tasty. My wife had a short rib mash potato dish that was very bland. It was supposed to come with Brussel sprouts but they were missing. We pointed that out and they brought some out. Nothing special about them. They had some really good craft beers but they ran out of pinot gricio. We enjoyed a trip to the Asbury Park local asthma summer and hope this location lives up to their standard after they work the kinks out. You can walk to the third state brewery from here which is nice.

Nice new place in Burlington City. Food — Better than average bar food. The first time I went I had the catfish, it was a decent cut, but a bit over cooked with cheese grits which were great. I have sinces had the buffalo style wings, which were spot on. Drink — Great Bear menu. They have a resident handle for Kane which when I was there was Overhead. Top notch local offerings, both from Jersey and some of the West Coast heavy hitters. Pricey for Burlington though Atmosphere — I believe it is a converted fire house. Other than the building, there isn’t much there, relative generic tables and too many bar stools. Service — both times I have sat at the bar and had the same bartender, Beth. She was always attentive and quick. It is a nice addition to the area. It shines compared to what’s in the immediate area.

Was excited to try a new place close to home. The good: Nice place, cool interior, mixed ages crowd. The BAD: I want to fix so much about this establishment. First off the bartenders were NOT attentive, they(only 2) work both ends of the bar but not really hustling. They didn’t follow up to see how I was or if I needed anything as well as no recommendations and super slow. Menu is not impressive and I would recommend adding more«bar food» since the appetizers are SERIOUSLY lacking(I think there are 3 to choose from). I ordered the sweet potato fries to snack on and wasn’t even offered ketchup. I asked for the chipotle mayo which is the feature sauce on their burgers and I found it to be gross(seriously). Recommend adding some dipping sauces to your fries which are pretty darn good. Beer selection good except no list of beers they have in the coolers behind the bar so good luck identifying what’s in there. They only offer a draft list and quite frankly, I was again unimpressed. For $ 8/pint(in Burlington) I recommend more attentive, beer educated bartenders, a better menu, otherwise good luck getting return business.

We had an excellent lunch here. The hosts, servers, and bartenders were friendly and efficient. The beers on tap were all interesting, and well described. I had a pumpkin pint, my husband had a flight sampler. Food was fabulous. We had homemade chips and onion dip to start,(why don’t more places sell chips and dip??). I had a turkey club, real carved turkey, no lunch meat here. It was so good, I ordered one for to go for my mom! My husband had the filet mignon sandwich, it was so tender you could have cut it with a fork. My only suggestions would be to cut the price of the sampler, say $ 11. There just wasn’t much beer for $ 15. And add some other appetizers. We will def be back.
